Also, *this* is a really good place for Wavebreak Hippocamp.

You know, when you have three cards that have Dovin Baan on them, maybe it's time to think about whose side you're really on.

Alternate comment: Raff seems like a god kid who likes to have fun. Why is he hanging out with all these pyscho control freaks?

Atraxa has so much to do that I feel like she needs good card selection, and the top is already tied up in Elsha. More importantly, my entire game plan folds to combat damage, so a 1-drop flying blocker is at least okay for me any time.

I'm gonna just free-associate.

Maybe it's just deckstats's shuffler but I could not get a decent opening hand with enough land. Maybe you should consider bumping it back up to 36-38 lands.

Altar of Dementia is a great card for the deck.
Bastion of Remembrance is an amazing card for an aristocrats deck, especially with our meta's difficulty dealing with enchantments. I love it!
Dark Privilege is an odd choice, I think. Are you looking for the regen effect or just the free sac outlet? if it's the latter, I think there are better choices, like Carrion Feeder, Ashnod's Altar, et al. I think the regen effect has interesting applications, being kind of a reason for opponents to direct their fire elsewhere, just cos it'll have a weak effect on your board.
Genesis Wave is another odd choice. I don't see a way for you to make *big mana.* Which brings me back to the idea of including Ashnod's over DP.
Greater Good is a card I've always wanted to include in a deck but never found a good place for. Nice job.
Replace Krosan Grip with Rec Sage, I think.
Basically i think that in this deck if you can do it with a creature or a land instead of a spell, do it with a creature or land. Cultivate? Kodama's Reach? No. Pilgrim's Eye. Farhaven Elf.
On THAT note, I think Yavimaya Elder will very quickly become cumbersome as you need fewer lands and more card draw. I'm medium on that thought though.
I only play Gary in mono-black, for what it's worth.
I think the mana curve is quite high, btw. I'd really look at some of your top end cards and give them some serious scrutiny. I know at the end of the game you want to be able to return them for free with Meren, but Meren is notorious for catching removal. It will probably be really hard to get there.
Lastly, with those top-end slots, I would invite you to think about what you're trying to accomplish. Is it a Dictate of Erebos-like lock? A sudden avalanche of Blood Artist effects to close it out? What's the plan to make your opponent's total combined life total go from 120 to zero? Can you find some kind of loop or alpha strike, or is it a game of attrition, and how are you going to win a war of attrition when your commander eventually costs 10?
Example of curve reduction: Command the Dreadhorde instead of Rise of the Dark Realms. Yes, you lose life, but it's 3 cheaper and by the time you're casting something like that, you're living or dying in a turn or so anyway.

Okay, I'm done. Sorry if I sound mean. That's my way of looking at decks: I only ever imagine the WORST way things could go. Generally, Ian will take a tone that is more rewarding for creativity and following your dreams.

So, most Gitrog decks are designed to combo off, in my recollection. This appears to be using the frog for value to fuel basically a midrange strategy. If you want to do that, that's great, but it lacks a little bit of the complexity Gitrog is famous for. I think you know what I'd do if it were me building it.

On a more granular level:

-figure something else out besides underworld connections. I think that's a nonbo in a land-saccing deck.
-Worm Harvest and Paetor's Council don't like each other.
-I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason I don't like Overwhelming Stampede in this. I think I'd rather see something like Primal Rage.
-I like Nissa in this. Animating lands can be risky, which is why I don't do it. But animating lands in a deck that can easily recur them if anything should befall them, that's pretty gangster.
-I also really like Titania. I'd love to see a line where you have her out on a board where all your lands are mans and someone drops a boardwipe, getting you an army of elementals. And then you just play them all back out again.
-I suppose you don't have it, but I don't think Avenger of Zendikar is optional in this thing.
-Dakmor Salvage is also not optional, so I'm pleased to see it here. Silly question: are you just going to draw your deck or do you have a plan for what happens when you draw your whole deck?
-Get an Abundance. It's strong magic and perfect for this deck.
-I don't super love Mazirek.
-Cut Mazirek and use the slot for removal and wipes. Nine slots for that is less than half of what the deckbuilding template calls for.

...any suggestions? I mean, it's performing reasonably well. I was thinking some of the card draw I have in Ghave could go in, like Abundance and Sylvan Library, but I'd prefer that it was creature based, hence me wanting Oracle of Mul Daya. I was also thinking Outpost Seige, but again I wish it was a creature not an enchantment.

FYI, Shaman of the Hunt isn't legal in this deck.
