Deck Reviews / [Standard] Humans with Help
« en: Noviembre 05, 2016, 07:43:23 pm »
I was playing a humans deck (http://deck.tk/989L738J) until several of its lynchpins fell out of standard with the release of the Kaladesh block. Since I was just getting back into MTG after a 15+ year hiatus it was appealing to me for being straightforward -- almost a white weenie -- and efficient as many creatures, like Knight of the White Orchid or Consul's Lieutenant, provided fixing or buffs. I won about 60% to 70% of games versus popular tournament decks, but noticed that a couple of its more powerful cards, like Archangel Avacyn or Westvale Abbey, weren't ever properly getting into the fight.

I recently retooled the deck (http://deck.tk/1Qo71EMY) to keep it in standard and tried to maintain its simplicity and several of its interactions. I also wanted to increase the deck's chances of reaching one of several end-game scenarios, such as:

1. overwhelming an opponent white weenie style with some cheap creatures or tokens and buffs;
2. using more expensive creatures, such as Selfless Spirit or Thalia, Heretic Cathar, to prevent board wipes or delay opponents using combo or zoo-like decks;
3. getting Archangel Avacyn or, in extreme cases, Westvale Abbey into play transformed.

What do you think? What could be improved? Do you think Humans with Help has a shot in standard?
