This is deck I am considering on putting together for my wife. MTG is a little too fast for her with Instant speed interactions. She prefers the playstyle of Pokemon, my son built her a deck as a Christmas present. When she plays she prefers being the threat and forcing other's to answer, instead of her having the answers.

Let me know if you know of any cards I should consider.

Sefris - All the DND Flavor
I’m a D&D noob.

I recently joined my first D&D campaign. My DM got into Magic through me with an upgraded PreCon. I wanted to make a deck full of D&D flavor. Through conversations he likes the Party Mechanic, Dungeons, and the modal cards from AFR, “ You Came Upon a River”.

He has said he likes the way I build decks and he likely will not build one from scratch on his own. For this deck I added a sideboard so he can adjust the deck to his style and add a ton of flavor. The Maybeboard is a way to increase top deck creatures for Naila and count as lands.

Any tips about the flavor would be great. Thanks.

Besides the obvious upgrades that would require more $$$, am I on the right track?

I started with a shell from the Modern Red Blitz and landed on using Temur Battle Rage.  I have seen some Izzet decks (see mtggoldfish) but I wanted more aggro and less control.

This I built for my son to play in the LGS standard tournament. I am concerned about not including Flame Sweep or Lava Coil. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.


Upgrades are listed in the maybe board. Currently Light up the stage and skewer the critics are out of stock at the LGS.

Sideboard Guide: (Designed to be printed for my son to use as a reference guide; he's 7)

Multi-Colored Fires:
Fry in, Footlight Fiend out. Fry to deal with Teferi, Time Raveler Footlight out; no haste.
Torbran, Thane of Red Fell in, Legion Warboss out. Torbran gets around Clarion, Legion doesn't

Blue/Green Ramp:
Scorching Dragonfire in, Shock out
Claim the Firstborn in, Footlight Fiend (1) and Chandra's Spitfire (1) out; Claim to get Krasis, Risen Reef, Leafkin, or Grazer to take put them off tempo.
Legion Warboss in, Torbran,Thane of Red Fell out; to go wide with Legion

Sacrifice: Red/Black
Torbran, Thane of Red Fell in, Legion Warboss out; due the small powered creatures.
This deck may be well aligned against Sacrifice Decks. But, I've debated putting Flame Sweep to deal with Gutterbones, Cauldron Familiar, and Priest of Forgotten Gods and Lava Coil Rankle and Spawn.

Control: (Usually Blue)
Legion Warboss in, Torbran,Thane of Red Fell out
Legion builds creatures without casting them, this helps against counterspells. Legion also gets under Disdainful Stroke, unlike Torbran.
Fry and Scorching Dragonfire in, Shock, Footlight Fiend, (1) Scorch Spitter out. Fry/Scorching deal with Planeswalkers and Arclight Phoenix. Footlight and Spitter are too slow; no haste.

Adventure: Green/Black
Claim for Lovestruck Beast and Dragonfire for Rankle
Maybe bring Flame Sweep into the board as an option for the Edgewall Inkeeper, and the 1/1 for Lovestruck Beast.
Torbran Out, Legion in. Goblin creation to deal with deathtouch creatures.

Adventure: Green/White
Tibalt in to combat lifegain and Fry for Gideon.
Torbran Out, Legion in. Goblin creation to get wide to fight 1/1's
Footlight out, no haste, and (1) Chandra, (1) Spitfire, and (1) Spitter out.

Cavalcade Deck / Mirror
Out Race:
Torbran out for Legion b/c of CMC
Over Burn:
Torbran and Legion out for Dragonfire and (1) Claim

I would like to increase lands to 24, or more, but I can't decide what to remove. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

My son, 7, wants to "play cards" with me. I told him that if he learned the game on a rookie deck I have we could build a dragon deck just for him. He understands the math, but really likes the pictures. Do you think this deck might work? The Side/Maybe are just options of cards he might like. Also, the planeswalkers are "goals" for the future if he keeps playing. Thanks.
