Snow Revolution

Using Implement of Combustion and Arcum's Astrolab to cantrip while using Pia's revolution to add recursion and extra value to my cheap artifacts.

Deck Reviews / [EDH / Commander] Mogis Punishment

Mogis Punishment

My favorite EDH deck that I have been playing and working on for a while and just wanted to share with you all on here. I'd like to point out the game ending combos of Bloodchief ascension+ mind crank as well as Wound reflection and havoc festival. It might be due to my preferred playstyle and playgroup that this deck works well for me, but I enjoy it quite a lot, especially when my friends get sad seeing that they can't kill me before I drain them to death.

General Magic / Is Garna the bloodflame good in standard?
« on: December 24, 2018, 04:50:12 am »
With the existence of the surveil mechanic i'm wondering if there is any ideas kicking around for garna+surveil or just garna ideas in general. I already have some ideas using her:
-using doom whisperer several times then casting garna to fill up your hand with surveil milled creaturs
-using whisper, blood liturgist+garna's board haste+ Open the graves to do an infinite combo where you sac whisper and the zombie created when a creature dies to bring back another whisper from the graveyard.
My problem is that I am not very good at making complicated decks and I feel like this would be a green/red/black deck, but with so many of the things I'd like to use being high mana cost cards i'm not sure what would work well to lower the curve while also giving the deck enough creatures to make garna actually matter. Is it worth even trying to make this work in standard or is Garna just meant to be more of a modern/commander card?

Mishra's army

Rough draft for a deck idea. Proc mishra's self replicator as much as possible and get it out quickly.Traxos as a secondary big threat and Lazav, the multifarious as a way to get either one from the graveyard.

Whack in Black

A B/R deck i've been working on. I find the synergies to be very enjoyable and i'm still looking to make improvements to it, but I might play it at FNM this friday. I don't have risk factor so that is why it is in the maybeboard, but does it seem like a good modern card?

Boros, goblins and pirates.

Inspired by my friends old boros deck that used only creatures. I was excited to find we had so many creatures in standard that make for solid removal.
I only just came up with this and it will take me some time to get the cards. What do you all think of it? should I run more mana? and what should I sideboard...

Deck Reviews / [Standard] Rakdos Valduk

Rakdos Valduk

Hit hard with the likes of Valduk and Champion of the flame. Lots of stuff to bring creatures back from the graveyard because my creatures are going to be easy targets for removal.

I've been trying to collect the cards for it on magic arena and its been a slow grind so far. I'd like to know what people think would work better or what doesn't work in it. Maybe I should be running more equipment because i'm hoping to bring things back from the grave often? I'm not sure yet where to go with it.

Torgaar the burninator

I'm not too knowledgable about modern so maybe there are better draw cards for this deck? but the idea is basically put my opponent at 10 with torgaar then burn them twice with shrapnel blast. If they are running agressive then I can put in more removal and burn spells. Easiest way to bring out torgaar is to swing with hope of ghirapurr to lock them out of counters and removal during my turn.

I just made it so I havent gotten to test it out yet. I imagine it will be really inconsistent, but when it wins it will win early on.

Valduk aggro

Just trying to make a super cheap, super agressive standard deck, friends. Can play valduk as early as turn 2 and swing for as high as 13 by turn 3.

Pile enchantments/ equipment onto creatures that get strong effects from being buffed and swing in hard.

Bombs and Choices

The idea is to get out ahtreos or pia's revolution (maybe both?) and fireweaver or bontu's monument because together they make a situation where the opponent is forced to take damage when you send an artifact creature to your graveyard (bombs), which will do no less than 4 damage per creature with the combination of the creature entering the field and then going to the graveyard. The choices part is vexing devil and browbeat making the opponent take even more damage or giving you an advantage while trying to set up your combo/ getting you closer to killing them from playing just one or two x cost artifacts.

Pia's burning scrap

This deck is about recycling! Trying to push your opponent into no-win situations with pia's revolution an artifacts that benefit you when they are destroyed to incentivise your opponent to take damage from Pia's revolution till they can't handle any more from it. In order to keep having things it can do I also have fireweaver and bontu's monument to pour on damage from just putting out creatures.
I hope some of you enjoy the way it works well enough to try it our yourselves.

Cruel burn

big ol work in progress. Wanting suggestions for how to approach this without making it really expensive. So no shock/fetch lands even though I know they would make the deck way better.

Pretty much I dont know the vast number of cards available in modern and the sheer numbers of cards alone makes it overwhelming for me so i'm looking for ideas. What i'm trying to do should be obvious, aggressively go after my opponent. I'd like to sort of use rakdos cards if they are viable because having recent discovered them I am in love with the art. Other than that I love the ruthless feel black/red feels like it gives off and I want to try and put that into the deck.

Collected Allies

its all about putting forth a large number of creatures as fast as possible to swing in hard.

This will be my first post on this site and I dont often get to discuss my deck ideas so i'm quite happy I found out about this site.
