Deckstats Feedback / Primer Included Marker
« on: December 05, 2020, 11:26:49 pm »
I would love it if when saving your deck there was a "Includes Primer" check box similar to the "work in progress" function. This would be great for searching through decks, and you could include a text box which allowed you to either say that the primer is the deck description, or provide a link to google docs (or another specifically whitelisted site). This would be awesome because it would allow people to more quickly find high quality decks they know will include reasoning for the decisions that were made for the decks.

Deckstats Feedback / Custom Category Sets
« on: December 05, 2020, 11:14:58 pm »
One of my favorite features of Deckstats is that it allows me to easily use Custom Categories so that I can look at the number of pieces in my decks which do various things. This is especially important to me because I'm primarily an EDH player which means that Categories allows me to manage a 100 card mess much easier. Honestly this feature has made Deckstats my sole deck building site and unless something dramatically changes, this is where I'll be, and its the deck builder I encourage my friends to upload lists to if they want to send me their list to look at (I'm a Judge at a regular LGS and many of the players have become my friends, and often ask my advice on their decks).

The one thing I would love to see would be to expand this function. I would love to be able to have multiple different category sets to switch between so that I can better organize my thoughts as well as provide more views at something for writing deck primers.

As an example of how I would use this, for my normal building process I would organize the list by function category (draw, ramp, removal, etc), and for the sake of primers and building more competitive decks I would also have a second set of categories that could be organized into combo-lines, or turn 1 plays, turn 2 plays, etc (cmc 1 != turn 1).

The other thing that I would love along this line of thinking, would be category nesting/sub-categories. Sub categories would be great because they would allow me to do stuff like separate removal into its relevant target types, card draw into both hand refillers and over time draw, and a number of other sub divisions which would help me better understand and explain my decks, while still knowing how many cards are contained within the broader group. This could also be especially useful in the sideboard or maybe board so that I could organize those spaces as well. That would be especially helpful for things like "when against control" style categories, as well as stuff like "Meta dependent picks" for those Primers.

Deck Reviews / [EDH / Commander] March of the Clones

March of the Clones

In this deck Yasova, Dragonclaw doesn't just steal creatures, she follows up by mass producing them and slapping a "MADE ON TARKIR" sticker on them. It doesn't run much removal because there isn't a need when you're stealing it anyway. If you cant keep the creature, sacrifice it for benefit. This deck is winning through glorious combat, bringing in the clone armies. For more flavor, add Clone Legion. Its not in there due to high cmc.

Concerns: Curve is slightly high, and mana rocks are low. No big beefy creatures of its own to make combat favorable against non-combat opponents. Not a lot of flicker to maintain permanent control over some targets. Perhaps not enough mana sources that produce any color for activating stolen effects.

Some of the maybe board is due to budget, some is because I don't know what to cut to make it happen. I play at a shop with a decent number of players that I'm largely unfamiliar with, as I understand it if the average precon was a 5, then most of the meta hovers at a 7.4.

I'm looking to nail this thing down so that there is minimal purchasing and iteration once I buy it. I understand that some will always happen, but I don't want to buy 2 deck's worth of cards for this one deck.
