Deck Reviews / Re: [Standard] Deathtouch
« on: November 08, 2014, 12:27:18 am »
Hello.

So, for building a deck around Deathtouch, might I suggest Archetype of Finality? It grants all of your creatures Deathtouch, and opponents can't have it. I think it is worth looking into, just in case your opponent also has it or if your bows are destroyed. I think you could put in more Typhoid Rats, if you are able to find room for them. And finally, Necrobite. If there is any card that a Deathtouch deck should have, it is Necrobite.

Now, another thing I'm concerned with is Agent of the Fates. It has Deathtouch, but you only have one card that can activate its Heroic ability. I don't really think it is worth keeping it in the deck, unless you add some more things to keep Heroic active a lot.

Another card I'm not sure about is Kheru Bloodsucker. You have two cards in your deck that will activate its first ability, unless they are buffed. These two creatures I don't find to be worth the place of the card. Which brings me to the next card. Rotting Mastodon just seems unnecessary to me. It has a lot of toughness, yes, but with Deathtouch, most people won't be that willing to attack you anyway.

So, hopefully you found my comment to be helpful, and I hope that you are able to make your deck work!

You are using my favorite colors, and your deck has quite a bit in common with mine, in terms of life. http://deckstats.net/decks/24564/146270-the-wb-60-presents/en There it is in case you want to look at another Black/White deck.

Now, one thing that I found to be a problem quickly is the number of high costing spells. I think you will have a problem with using a lot of them. You have two 7 drops, an 8 drop, and a 9 drop. You also have a few 5 and 4 drops as well. I feel like this will be a problem.

Another thing I see is some cards just seem unneeded. It looks like you are preparing yourself of any situation that might happen. Which, is not a problem, but as I don't see the goal of your deck, I can't really tell why many of these cards are here. And I think that is a big weakness. Without a clear common theme, I can't really see what you are going for.

Hopefully you have an answer to my concerns and are able to use your deck to great effect. These are simply issues I have with it.

I forgot a few things that you might like.

Commander's Authority will give you tokens on all of your turns. Human tokens, that is.

Going with the causing damage for each human you control, Vigilante Justice does this well. Each time a human comes under your control, it does one damage to whatever you want. With Commander's Authority, at is one damage per turn that will always happen, along with creatures you will summon.

Hope this is helpful.

So, my biggest suggestion is to add some Red or Green cards to give some more mana ramp, as you have a lot of expensive cards. Going off of that, Spawnsire of Ulamog. Its activated ability costs 20 mana to use, but once you do, you will have a huge advantage. Otherwise, I think it looks good.

For a mill deck, I highly suggest putting in Traumatize. It is a beautifully cruel card.

Hello.

So for human decks, Fabled Hero is great. It has Heroic and Double Strike, which I think would be helpful in your deck. Phalanx Leader will buff your other creatures, which is also a good card. Cavalry Pegasus will give all attacking humans flying when it attacks, so it is also worth looking into.

All of these cards are from the Theros set. Here is a link to the whole set http://archive.wizards.com/Magic/tcg/article.aspx?x=mtg/tcg/theros/cig.

Hopefully, you will find some cards in it that will help you out. Best of luck!

Hi.

So, my first suggestion is to find a way to add Cavalry Pegasus into your deck. Given how most of your creatures are Humans, I think it would be a good addition.

I think the two Planeswalkers is unnecessary, and while I can see them working, I think you could replace them with something else.

One problem I see is nothing in your deck can stop anything an opponent can do. Nothing in your deck can stop a mass removal spell, or any removal spell. As far as creatures, you should be fine at protecting. However, things with Deathtouch, First Strike, Double Strike, and other things will be a problem.

Overall, I think it is a solid deck.

Deck Reviews / Re: [Standard] Mono White Heroic Aggro
« on: November 06, 2014, 12:25:15 am »
Hello.

So, I believe the Mono White Heroic is the best at Heroic, so your deck is goo in that regard. While I like to play with around 23 land, nothing seems that expensive in your deck, so you should be fine.

Now, a concern I have is the cards you would use on your creatures. You have 20 spells, 23 if counting Eidolon of Countless Battles. The 4 Gods Willing are likely to be saved from a removal spell, and not as a buff. Dauntless Onslaught and Battlewise Valor also seem to be situational (unless an opponent has nothing and you can't be stopped). But as this is aggro and Heroic can be fast, these cheep spells work.

I think the major problem is the deck doesn't have much in the way of stopping anything. Aside from Gods Willing, your deck can't stop any spells from destroying your creatures. This is a major problem, one that your deck can only stop by winning early.

As far as Aggro goes, I think your deck does it well. Overall, I think it is solid.

Deck Reviews / [Modern] The WB 60 presents

The WB 60 presents

A deck built around Life gain and Life loss, rounded out to help fight threats that typically may stop such decks.

This deck is made up of cards I own, so please feel free to suggest any other ideas that can help this deck out.

So far, I want to switch Serra's Blessing for Brave the Sands, and I want to add Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond.
