Daaaaang.  This is a very well thought out and comprehensive primer!  Props to you, man!  Take an upvote! It looks like it hits all the bases and is very detailed.  It took me a while to finish my primer, but this must have taken ages!  Good Job!

I think that this all goes along fairly well with what my games generally go like, but the one thing that gets me is the game length.  I almost never play a game that is 12 turns long, and 10 seems a stretch, and my power levels aren't super high, as I like to play with budget decks or higher-level decks with minimal interaction.  Even then, my games end at 6 on the earlier end and 9 on the later end of games that I see often.  And I know that it isn't based on my playgroup since I play mostly online against many different decks and people.

Nice! I'm happy that I did fairly well in building a budget deck.  It was really fun, and thank you!

Yeah, I like this set, it has had some really nice cards!  I will definitely use Fiery emancipation in my Neheb deck, and other cards from this set will probably find their ways into my decks as well.

It is kinda interesting that people who play magic tend to play D&D...

I would totally play except for the fact that I'm reluctant to voice chat to people online who I don't know in real life.

This isn't commander, is it?  Are you trying to make it an edh deck?

https://deckstats.net/decks/146412/1661026-super-budget-aristocrats-teysa

A Teysa Karlov budget aristocrats list.  Some things I probably could have spread out better, and I splurged a bit on skullclamp, but I am happy with the end result!  This deck lies at $49.57.  The main focus is to get Teysa out and then sac creatures with death triggers, making tons of tokens and pinging opponents to death.  A fantastic card is Pitiless plunderer, a great source of treasures, as he effectively makes 2 treasures whenever anything you control dies.  It is hard to run out of cards to sac, and if you do, you can recur them or draw into more!  Command the Dreadhorde is a great card here, and since most of the cards are low cmc, the value you get off of it is nuts, and will win you the game if you time it right.

can't you use either TCG player or card kingdom?  That will skew the price range, but does it matter much, as long as it is below 50 dollars?

I once played a commander cube where mono commanders got an extra color.  Could we create a pool of commanders that are mono-colored, and each person gets, say, 5 choices and they pick one and add a color to it?  Or it could be just pick a mono-colored commander by yourself and add a color.  I think that would be fun.  It opened up a lot of fun strategies and can make really interesting decks.

General Magic / What is your favorite piece of MTG art?
« on: May 16, 2020, 05:40:53 pm »
The title really says it all.  What is your favorite art on a magic card?  My favorite is probably Black Lotus from Vintage Masters.  The color contrast between the vibrant flower and the white background really makes it pop.  What about y'all?

Ok, so I've made a bunch of changes, made the draw better, and did some other stuff to just make it run smoother, like taking out the high cmc damage doublers.
