General Magic / Re: Positive reflection after a bad week for MTG.

I started with Ravnica: City of Guilds. Much like Wizard, a friend got me into MTG. I'm glad he did. I used to play Pokemon at the time and I hated it. But when I got into MTG it was a whole lot better. I remember creating my first deck which was mono blue control, and I've been a blue player ever since. I loved this game with a passion and I'm glad I got into it. So far my favorite blocks are: Shadowmoor / Lorwyn, Ravnica: City of Guilds, and Alara (I'm pretty old school). I've had a lot of fun ever since. I got into EDH in about 2005, and I love it. I've created a casual format with friends, that being only cards from 8th Edition to Core 14. Affinity is still broken. Since Belwas wanted to know how we like to play; I guess I like creating janky, fun, and casual decks. I also like using lesser known cards, so when my opponent asks what does it do? I'll reply with oh nothing special, it's just you're screwed. But yeah I love this game, but hate what Hasbro is doing to it right now. One last thing, I'm personally a Timmy / Johnny or Johnny / Timmy (I hate playing competitively.)

I pretty much agree with PickleLover.

Looking good, but a few suggestions if I may.

1. Slim to 60. I've said this on a few other decks before but it's very important for the same reason every time. And that is every card you add past 60 slims the chances of drawing a specific card that you might need in a situation.

2. Add more card draw. since you're splashing blue it may be a good idea to throw in a few Frantic Inventory.

3. Add some more removal such as Heartless Act. Since your primary colors are B and G, it's a great idea to put some more removal in there.

4. Add some more blue sources. Since your win-con looks like Emergent Ultimatum it would be a good idea to put some more blue sources in there. Since you only have 2 blue sources it seems very unlikely you will ever be able to cast it.

Do that and I think you'd have a pretty decent deck.

Edit: You didn't specify which format but I'm assuming it's standard since you have a lot of cards from Ikoria.

The only think I can think of (I don't play standard) is to slim it down to 60. I know it may seem like a dumb suggestion, but every card you add past 60 only slims the chance of drawing a specific card.

Crumbling Ashes may be a good inclusion.
Also Scar is a better choice than Instill infection. Might be a good pseudo-pacifism along with Kulrath Knight.

I think secret lair in general is just a cash grab, but that's just re-skinned cards. However, with the whole Secret Lair X MTG promotion it takes it to a worse degree. For a few reasons:

1. Legal in all eternal formats.

2. Available directly from WOTC and only WOTC.

3. Mechanically unique with a slim chance of being reprinted.

4. Get it now or pay heavily inflated prices.

Now, if they created the cards before hand, and re-skinned them (Much like the Godzilla ones.) I wouldn't have a problem with it. But it becoming mechanically unique with a slim chance of reprinted It's just a cash grab. Or if it was silver bordered.
