Deck Reviews / Re: [Casual] Eldrazi Ramp Deck help me out

[Here's another deck that's worth a look.](https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/modern-eldrazi-tron-26966#paper)

Inspirational decks aside, I think cutting red is a good idea. It doesn't provide anything you really need.

The first cards I would bring in from your maybeboard are Mind Stone and Quicksilver Amulet. I'd replace aggro-ish cards like Metallic Mimic, Dominator Drone, and Dolmen Gate with actual ramp and cheat-y cards like the Amulet, because the huge creature plan and the small creature plan don't go super well together.

Also, I suggest dropping Archetype of Finality for being fragile and incapable of winning the game alone and Inverter of Truth for being incredibly dangerous to cast.

In the long term, you're going to want more four-ofs and fewer one-ofs. There might be a fun Cryptolith Rite/Awakening Zone/From Beyond deck out there. But that's a ways away.

Cruel Reality and Curse of Death's Hold are well worth looking at. Dropping Cruel Reality ahead of schedule can be back-breaking, and Curse of Death's Hold turns some decks into stacks of blank paper.

I'm not sold on Cursecatcher, Curse of Wizardry, or Silence. They might fit thematically, but the synergy with your other cards seems lacking.

If you want to use Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast, you should probably go monoblack.

Pretty sure you're overestimating Champion and underestimating Watching. +1/+1 is a big deal. So is doing something the turn it comes down, and not dying to creature removal.

Honored Crop-Captain seems solid, but if you want to cut a two-drop Glory-Bound Initiate is the last one I'd suggest. Thing's always good, and it's amazing if you can set up some exert synergies.

Fair enough.

I should warn you, though: Magic is less kind to that sort of deckbuilding than Yugioh is. Card selection is worse, decks are larger, and redundancy is more important.

I don't think twenty dual lands and nothing else will suffice to let you cast your spells.

One of each Trial doesn't seem like enough to justify all those Cartouches and Paradoxical Outcomes. If you want to play a Trial deck, I think you need to commit to it; the exert theme barely synergizes with the Trial theme at all.

Also, I don't like Cancel in this deck. This isn't a deck that wants to leave mana open, and 1UU is a harsh cost.

I'm really not sure about removing Always Watching and Glory-Bound Initiate. Those are strong cards, especially together.

Pretty sure the problem cards are Winter Orb and Dread Summons.

On another note, not related to format legality, you can do better than Flesh to Dust. It's not very good.

General comments, applicable to all the decks you've posted lately:

-It's almost always best to play 60 cards. Cutting down to 60 will pay dividends in consistency.
-1-ofs usually aren't the best way to go. I don't know what kind of collection you're working with here, but if you can identify your key cards and play more of them, you'll do better.
-You're playing too many cards that don't really fit your plans. If a card doesn't contribute directly to your deck's central purpose, you should at least think about cutting it.

Specific comments on this deck:

-I don't think you have enough mill. Mill is the kind of theme that demands real commitment; it has to be your deck's central plan if you want it to be good. If you replace every card that attacks for damage with more mill, you'll have a much better chance of closing games out that way.
-I don't see what Galvanic Alchemist and Dramatic Reversal are doing for you here. You're not exactly drowning in tap abilities.
-Favorable Winds is a solid card in the right deck, but it's really not a mill deck card.

Deck Reviews / Re: Feedback for my Blue/Green Artifact Deck?

I think it's easier to make this cuts when you're not emotionally connected to some of the cards (yes I said emotionally) lol.

I know what you mean. I have the exact same problem with some of my decks.

A couple questions: You don't think that by removing the canopy spiders I will leave myself too exposed to decks with flying? I might leave Prismatic Omen in there since it makes all lands every other basic land type in addition (that means they're all technically Islands as well, no?).

Canopy Spider is one of the cuts I'm less confident about. Maybe you'd be better off removing Energy Chamber. But the protection it provides really isn't all that great. It's just a 1/3; I think you're probably better off taking a few hits, then ramping into something bigger and scarier. Although I guess it depends on what your friends play; if your local meta has a lot of 2/1s, it's pretty solid.

And yes, Prismatic Omen synergizes nicely with Vedalken Shackles. But you only have one Shackles, and in a two-colour deck it'll often do nothing. Powerful card, but I don't think this is the place for it.

I liked Eater of Days because it gives the potential of having a 9/8 out there by the fourth turn, but I haven't played it enough times to know if losing those two turns is too detrimental. What do you think?

I think it's a trap. It has no protection from being bounced, destroyed, or otherwise turned into a gigantic liability.

You're better off with fatties that just cost mana, I think.

I think the main thing this deck needs is consistency. More 4-ofs of your key cards, fewer random 1-and-2-ofs.

Maybe one less colour, too. Green isn't contributing anything you really need, and playing it slows you down. Going RW would let you play one-drops, and it'd make it a lot easier to cast Always Watching on turn three.

If I were you, I'd cut the following:

1 Arrest
2 Canopy Spider
1 Crystal Quarry
1 Darksteel Reactor
1 Door to Nothingness
1 Eater of Days
1 Elvish Pioneer
1 Extraplanar Lens
1 Hanna, Ship's Navigator
1 Prismatic Omen
1 Saprazzan Heir
1 Seafloor Debris
1 Timberland Ruins
2 other lands

That'll get you down 60 cards, 25 lands. I left the other lands to cut unspecified because I'm torn on Seat of the Synod vs Foundry of the Consuls vs Island. Artifact synergy vs Vedalken Shackles synergy is a tough choice.

My main goal with those cuts is to make your mana easier while cutting cards that don't impact the board much.

Battle at the Bridge doesn't belong in a deck which is so bad at producing black mana.

Beastcaller Savant doesn't belong in a deck with so many noncreatures to cast.

Evolving Wilds is good for colour fixing and Tireless Tracker triggers. Speaking of which, a fourth Tracker would be good. Card's amazing.

Angelic Purge is dubious. I'd prefer Banishing Light.

Ongoing Investigation might be worth a look. It's pretty good with Erdwal Illuminator.

Three Tamiyo's Journal seems like a bit much, given how bad it is in multiples.

Mechanized Production only enchants artifacts.

I don't think one Temmet is enough.

I don't like Oketra's Monument much. Does nothing when you're embalming. In Oketra's Name also seems dubious.

Mana curve looks kinda high, too, since Embalm gives you stuff to do late in the game. Some cheap answers might be worthwhile.

Some way of stocking the graveyard would be nice. Not sure if there's anything good for that in Standard, but I'd be tempted to try Perpetual Timepiece and/or Epiphany at the Drownyard even if they're both a bit janky.
