It depends on which way you want to go with it. If you are looking to make it more legacy compatible you should add gaea's cradle or some of the other staple legacy utility creature heavy deck lands. It also depends on your plan of attack: are you looking to go wide with anthems or utilize the elf mana dorks to speed up fat creature drops?

Since this is just casual, you need thee most important token of them all. Squirrel tokens; add "Squirrel Nest".

I run a Rafiq deck for commander myself and if there is one thing any Rafiq deck should run, its Finest Hour. That card has been the nail in the coffin so many times when i am looking to one punch in a multiplayer game.

I chose Slight of Hand over Opt as well because of its giving me a choice over the two cards instead of the scry 1. Serum Visions is already in the deck and I have Batterskull on the SB since its a dedicated 5 mana as opposed to 3, I feel that in modern its safer since I will be able hold a counter up. I want to try and keep the deck as low mana costing as possible to help keep the speed of the deck fast and as close to the feel of a real stoneblade deck.

I was debating on main boarding Batterskull but not being able to cheat it in makes tapping out for 5 seem worse, hence why I put in the SB for matches where want to get something with dedicated lifegain. I have thought about adding Steel of the Godhead as a third tutor option.

I do appricate the input!

Modern Swords

So this is my attempt at a new deck to try out at my fnm. I have been enjoying stoneblade in legacy so I decide to try, and hopefully not fail to hard but I know modern is probably to fast pace for this to work, and adapt a modern shell for it.

Any recommendations or suggestions are welcome! Hopefully its decent.

Rafiq of the Many

My Rafiq deck that I have been working on over the past year and change now that I have started playing commander. Certainly draws attention and fast to start.

Just looking for feedback and any helpful advice!

Reminds me alot of my friends old Tooth and Nail deck back in modern. Just ran land enchantments and arbor elf for crazy land ramp into Primeval Titan or the old Emrakul + Xenagos. I relished in his saltyness when I faced him with my Jeskai control deck and just shut him down as he went into topdeck mode versus my counters.

Legacy wise he said the deck was way susceptible to the fast counters like Force of Will, Counterspell, Stifle to ruin and creature triggers, Lightning bolt was way more threatening despite being able to run Deathrite Shaman...lets also not forget our friendly neighborhood Wasteland.

Should add two cavern of souls so control decks aren't a blow out.

True true, but I think out of all the Nissas the only 2 that will see the most standard play are steward and vital force. I myself don't ever play standard but that's just my 2 cents.

Modern though I excited to see how Gideon of the Trials and Gideon Jura will play out in a control shell. I also wonder if legacy players will be willing to add Jace Beleran to the decks that run Jace the Mind Sculptor. I think it could be interesting to see the two work together with the brainstorm ability and all the card draw 3 drop Jace offers but I could be horribly wrong haha as I only have just begun my journey into Legacy play.
