I mostly Play casual and Legacy so I don't always look to see if its banned:) heheh

deff consider Sunforger... its a very under rated card.   A lot of bad ass red white spells cost 4 or less

I do like simple decks but In my experience red white is one of the best combo colors for equipment.

Leonin Shikari ( also a meH? )
Etched Champion can be a nice unblock able guy with equipment.

Just a start of a bunch of cards ive seen abused in equipment lol:)

So, my friend wants to have a casual-type tournament where the only creatures allowed are "bears" (2/2 for 2). No huge tokens, no weenie tokens.  Anyone have any ideas for a deck? I was thinking grief, but.... I do want to have friends after this is over.

Would have to remove both Blistering Firecat and Firecat Blitz to make this modern legal, but that's not really my concern as I only play casual/legacy with about 10 friends.

Firecat Blitz can be pretty awesome when you have any number of Primal Forcemage or Ogre Battledriver creatures out.  Xenagos, God of Revels on top.
 I have considered swapping Firecat Blitz for dragon fodder or hordeling outburst but there is no guarantee for haste with out Ogre Battledriver out. 
It also triggers Champion of Lambholt by having creatures enter the battle field and making them unblock-able.

I am playing with a group of friends tonight and after a few games I'll have a better idea of what I want to swap out but I greatly appreciate your feedback.

and then I looked up the price of prismatic omen...     Lantern may win this battle alone because of the actual price of the card.

add some Tolarian Academy ... so you can add mana to you pool with all the black lotus in play before you sac them!! ... you know.. in case you needed extra mana...

just use dark ritual if you want to ramp that out faster?   I have a similar deck as well and i feel like its strong mono black:)
