Hey, love the deck. What are your thoughts on using Ajani's Welcome in a deck like this?

General Magic / Re: Guild packs? what about Land packs

Yeah, I think that's mainly due to the fact that the first modern masters sold well above MSRP due to its limited print run, and now WOTC (or Hasbro, it could be Habro) think that it should be a limited product that people will buy anyway because they want it so bad.

As for what we could realistically get, WOTC have shown that they are willing to reprint the fetch lands in standard legal sets, as they did recently in Khans of Tarkir. However, the problem came when they introduced the Battle Lands, which had two basic land types much like the shock lands did and so gave excellent colour fixing (at least for standard) and the format became four-mana good stuff that ran blue just for Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. This means we are probably not getting them whilst the shock lands are still in standard, but it could be a possibility further down the line.

And reprints are on WOTCs mind, as Gavin Verhey said in his article about the guild kits (link). WOTC do listen, and if enough people want the enemy fetch lands to be reprinted they may just do it

So, personally, I am optimistic about the future of reprints. I don't think that a land kit is the answer, as they will most likely just get bought out by investors and their price will shoot up, but I definitely do think we could see fetch land reprints, whether in a standard-legal product or in a suplemental one.

For land reprints, I've always had the idea of making masters sets like Dragon's Maze, where instead of the basic land/foil you had nonbasics. You could have fetches at rare, shocks at uncommon and something like the bounce lands at common. This would allow for needed reprints within the set without completely flooding the market. But hey, it seems like that's not going to happen any time soon :P

I would run Fevered Visions instead of Kami of the Cresent Moon. The problem with Kami is, since it's a creature, it's super easy to remove so your opponent can just take the extra card and then kill the kami, whereas with Fevered Visions not only do you get the extra damage but, since it's an enchantment, most decks won't have main deck, or even sideboard, removal for it. I would also replace Flux with Windfall, as flux can be countered by the opponent just chosing not to discard anything. If you get low on cards, it can bring you up to speed with your opponent, and if your opponents are low on cards you can get em with the Cerebral Vortex

With that being said, this is an interesting deck and I hope you keep working on it :)

Mutagenic Growth and Temur Battle Rage are both excellent in this kind of deck. They both trigger Adeliz, the Cinder Wind and Stormchaser mage and give you a substantial amount of creature damage to boot. I don't think Deathforge Shaman is very good, as it seems expensive for its function and it isn't even a wizard. I would probably move Opt and Flame of Keld to mainboard and Echoing Truth and Insult//Injury to the sideboard as Flame of Keld and Opt seem better in more situations. But this is a very good deck, well done. :)

And Artisan of Kozilek doesn't count as recursion as you're probably using Heartless Summoning to cast it.

Nice deck, however I do think some improvements could be made.

Firstly, it would be good to add a couple more dual lands to increase deck consistency. You need 14 green mana sources to be able to cast ancient stirrings turn 1 more than 90% of the time, and 13 black mana sources for Heartless Summoning (source https://www.channelfireball.com/articles/how-many-colored-mana-sources-do-you-need-to-consistently-cast-your-spells-a-guilds-of-ravnica-update/)

Secondly, one of the problems that Heartless Summoning decks have is that they aren't very good when they don't have it. You have improved this by including multiple copies in Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma and Conduit of Ruin, however if anything removes your Heartless Summonings you don't have anything to recur, protect or win if you don't have it. Consider adding recursion like Noxious Revival, protection like Heroic Intervention or more low-cost creatures so that you can win without Heartless Summoning effects. You can do most of this in the sideboard  if you create one but you should main deck some of the prior effects

As I said, this is a great deck and I hope you keep working on it :)

I have changed the deck after Pro Tour: Guilds of Ravnica. I have added fiery cannonade to the main deck to deal with the Boros aggressive decks and I have added Expansion//Explosion as a way to better deal with planeswalkers in control matchups and as a great value card. I also created a sideboard with some good meta cards in it.

Revision 5

Added/removed cards:
+2 Expansion // Explosion
+2 Field of Ruin
+3 (Main) +1 (SB) Fiery Cannonade
+2 Izzet Guildgate
+3 (SB) Blink of an Eye
+2 (SB) Disdainful Stroke
+3 (SB) Lava Coil
+2 (SB) Negate
+2 (SB) Nezahal, Primal Tide

Changed amounts:
-2 (Main) +2 (SB) Firemind's Research
