Deckstats Feedback / Re: Collection questions/suggestions
« on: August 13, 2021, 05:08:03 pm »
Hi,

First, I love DeckStats, and so does everyone else I know that uses it.

Second, I had a suggestion that was similar to this one.

When viewing a 'Collection', I would love to see a checkbox that 'Includes cards from Decks'.
More than once, I've added a card to a few decks, but forgot to add it to the 'Collection'.
When I search for that card in my collection to see which decks it's in, it doesn't show up.

I'm sure there are scenarios in which a user wants to find a card, but doesn't want to merge their decks into their collection - maybe because they have proxies in that deck.

Thanks,

Sounds like a good suggestion!
But you can also do something similar by going to the deck and going to tools -> add to collection.
I know you have to do this for every deck, and you need to check if they aren't already added, but it could solve your problem.

Hey Nils,

First of all, your site is awesome!
I've been using it for a long time and have been recommending it to all my friends, it's simply the best deckbuilder/collection manager out there, props!

Now for some questions/suggestions:

After I've created a new deck and want to order it IRL, I want to check if I have some of the cards in my collection already. There is a nice column for this in the deckviewer, but it doesn't take into account if I've already put this card in another deck, so I still have to go through every card and check if it's not already in some of my other decks. This feature already kind of exists in the card finder while deckbuilding, if you filter that on only cards from your collection you can see if you have any spare copies left, but I would love this feature to somehow be represented in the collection column (or another column) to easily list the cards that I need to order and the ones that I don't.

I would also like to see this information in the collection viewer. Sometimes I want to browse through my spare cards (or let other people do so for trades), but I don't think there's an option for that. Per card, you can click the little hourglass to see the decks that it's in and you can subtract those copies from the total copies you have, but that is a quite tedious process. I would love for there to be a column next to the total copies you have of a card that shows how much of them are actually in decks and/or how much of them are spare. Or maybe for there to be a filter that switches between "all cards", "cards in decks" and "cards not in decks".

Thank you kindly for considering these suggestions (or maybe these are already possible in some way, and then I thank you for explaining to me how they are achieved ;D)
Keep doing what you're doing, this site is great and I will continue to be an ambassador.

Kind regards,
Midas

Hey Nils,

Awesome update! This is the only feature that I was missing on your site, it's so good now!
I really appreciate you building this site for us to use for free, it's amazing.

One thing though, I think I would like it very much if I can see how many of my cards are in one of my decks in the collection view.
Right now, this feature only works when searching the card database while deckbuilding, but sometimes I might want to just search if I have a spare copy of a card in my collection.
Of course I can click the magnifying glass and subtract all the times it appears in a deck from the total, but it would be a lot easier if this amount was displayed the same as while deckbuilding (available/total).

Anyways, amazing work and keep it up!
