While i really like the idea you had. The rules prevent it from happening :(
Quote Ajani's Pridemate / Malakir Familiar Rulings :
"The ability triggers just once for each life-gaining event, whether it’s 1 life from Soulmender or 8 life from Meditation Puzzle."
With other words: Even if you gain 10 life. You still only get one +1/+1 counter/boost on it.

I just found a new way to beat emrakul!!! Permeating Mass + Rabid bite. The rabid bite is a sorcery so it'll have an effect on the eldrazi titan. And the monster effect will turn emrakul into a 1/3 spirit....that can be targeted by instants. Green & Black are gonna make a come back this set.
Unfortunately Permeating Mass says "combat damage" :/ No shenanigans allowed u_u

Where could one find a full MTG history? How much is it is in novel format, etc, and if so, is there a chronological list for the canon? I've read a couple of jace novels, neither of which seemed particularly well put together, and spent plenty of downtime reading through wiki articles, but I've been wondering this for a while :)
There you go for SOI : https://magic.wizards.com/en/content/shadows-over-innistrad-story
Eldritch Moon 1 : https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/magic-story/archmage-goldnight-2016-06-08
Eldritch Moon 2 : https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/magic-story/stone-and-blood-2016-06-15
Eldritch Moon 3 (Emrakul appears) : https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/magic-story/emrakul-rises-2016-06-20

I would suggest you to check https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive once a week for news and new Story's if you're interested.

E: The new Emrakul for those who haven't seen it already.

I would cut the White part (Mine Excavation)
You could use Nature's Spiral instead if you want that kind of effect.
You probaly used it because conspire. But unfortunately the creature's have to be white for conspire (and they are all red) :/

If you want you can replace the card with Reach Through Mists. While it looks not impressive on its own, you can splice your Desperate Ritual on it since its an Arcane spell (3 mana investment + draw = 3 mana + 1 card back -> +1 Storm counter for free).

glad to see you have most of the cards already x)

The thing with pure-life gain cards is , that they put you down on card advantage. Think that way. Your opponent got a 2/2 creature and you got an empty board and no hand and youre topdecking. A removal spell would kill the creature , so it cant attack you anymore = no more lifeloss. A lifegain spell would only "block" a few additional attacks at -1 card advantage on your side and the creature is still there for your opponent to continue his attack / block.
Thats why cards like Lightning Helix are so powerful. They remove the creature AND help you survive in 1 card.

Would you rather draw a Thraben Inspector (1/2 creature to block/attack and a potential card draw) early/late or a Chaplain's blessing that just give's you 5 life at the cost of a card?

You could try lords from other tribal's or sliver cards to make more use out of your changelings.
e.x: Lovisa Coldeyes , Master of Waves , Goblin Chieftain , Scion of Oona , Lord of the Unreal , Merfolk Sovereign and many more.

If you don't wanna go that way, general tribal-support cards might help you aswell.
Shared Animosity , Door of Destinies , Coat of Arms , Call to the Kindred ect ~

Another option (like Undying said) would be creature type support lands.
Swarmyard is nice with changelings. Mutavault give you more Changeling's. Springjack Pasture for Life/Mana Gain ect.
Be careful to add not to many of those lands, since they most of the time only provide colorless mana.

Deck Reviews / Re: Sorin, Grim Nemesis Control Deck - Comments

Welcome to Magic :)

First of all i would recommend to remove the Aura related stuff in your Deck and replace it with more card draw / removal options.
Also 20 Lands is kinda low for a control deck. I would suggest around 23~ atleast.

- Alive // Well
- Chaplain's Blessing
- Returned Centaur
+ Thraben Inspector (?) Give's you early investigate for more card draw
I would also suggest you try to get your hands on a mass-removal card like Languish against creature heavy Decks.
Another cheap options in your color are :
Biting Rain
Crux of Fate
End Hostilities
Merciless Eviction
Descend upon the Sinful
Those are usually kinda cheap to get and help your deck to get advantage and a clear board for your late game threats.

Another ideas from the SOI block might be :
Bound by Moonsilver
Bygone Bishop (if you want to keep your creatures in the Deck and go more midrange)
To the Slaughter
Anguished Unmaking
Magnifying Glass
Tamiyo’s Journal

Your normal early game removal like Doom Blade and Puncturing Light seems fine :)
Try to avoid cards that just give lifegain without any other benefit (for example Chaplain's Blessing).
Cards like Soul Warden are good though, because they trigger multiple times and give you a creature for poke/chump block on top.

Also Tutor Effects could help you get your Sorin (or any other card you need) if you want him more often.
Example : Diabolic Tutor , Beseech the Queen , Behold the Beyond (the last one got kinda high manacost but is from SOI)

I have to note though that most control Decks contain or splash blue for better draw options/counterspells ect

I hope i could help you a bit ~

I would try using cards with the "Proliferate" Mechanic to speed up your progress. I think you can cut the reito lantern for Tezzeret's Gambit for more draw and counters - it also reloads your Surge Node's btw.
Lux Cannon might also be an Idea to win the Game (an opponent with no permanents is kind of a win too xP).

My Idea would be :
-4 Ornithopter +3 Golden Urn
-2 Reito Lantern +3 Tezzeret's Gambit
-1 Spawning Pit +1 Orochi Hatchery
-X  "???" +X Lux Cannon

Might be a bit more cost intensive though. Astral Cornucopia , Everflowing Chalice can help accelerate.
Just an idea, i hope it helps :)

General Magic / Re: Seeking Clarification for Kinship/Creature Type Rules
« on: September 18, 2015, 03:13:07 pm »
Yes, your example would work.
Ink Dissolver (Merfolk/Wizard) would trigger with Stern Mentor (Human/Wizard) because they share the "Wizard" type.
Ink Dissolver (Merfolk/Wizard) would also trigger with Grimoire Thief (Merfolk/Rogue) because they share the ""Merfolk" type.
So you just need 1 type :)

It also works with spells (Stream of Unconsciousness/Summon the School) or artifacts (Diviner's Wand) with creature types.
All Changeling spells/creatures would also work.

General Magic / Re: Why your cheap deck want beat me!

I lived through the pains of being forced to try and play with cards from Homelands. Never again.
This why they made Apocalypse Chime ;D

but they never gave players a chance to answer treasure cruise or dig through time. They just banned it. Just like Bitter Blossom. They are talking about banning that card because the modern players are complaining it is "to powerful." What happen to using your brain and trying to beat it.
Its simply because Treasure Cruise can go as cheap like Ancestral Recall. Even if you cast it for U2 or U1 its still to cheap for a +2 in card advantage. Filling the graveyard isnt an issue in modern with all those 1-2 Mana spells and Fetchlands around.

Of cause competive is more expensive then casual envoirement, thats why its competive after all. Some cards are just so expensive because of other existing cards or popular Decks. Ever tried playing cards like Blood Moon / Linvala, keeper of Silence in casual? Not so effective at all compared to their impact in Modern.

Its also about the matchup you get, not just about the price of the cards.
Some archtypes rise and fall based on other popular decks in their format.
Its funny when i see those guys with there 1000$ decks they copied from some tournement guy and dont know how to play with it x)

Besides that, i like Wotc new balancing and the cards they make (pls go away Renown >:l).
Like you said, not all cards are made to be played competive (The Great Aurora , Worldfire ect).
Because the most important thing of the game is to have fun , right? : )

Also fits perfect to the Jeskai theme

2. Venser, the Sojourner

R.I.P :`( Dam you Phyrexia

3. The new Jace (Jace, Telepath Unbound)

Its so much fun to have him on the table

Also Fabricate kannst du auf jedenfall rauswerfen.

General Magic / Re: Stack Question
« on: October 11, 2014, 07:07:57 pm »
Player 1 will get 2 green mana, because Lands don´t use the stack.
The time player 2 taps his tidal warrior is the green mana already in player 1´s mana pool.

Overbeing of Myth
Psychosis Crawler
Chasm Skulker
Horizon Chimera
Lorescale Coatl
Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind
Sturmgeist

Got the first 5 in my U/G Card Draw Deck and they do pretty well for me.
