You can copy any target spell with izzet guildmage till it resolves, as many times as you have mana to do so. With Training grounds on the field, it lowers his copy cost to 1 blue/red.

Izzet Guildmage copies any target instant or sorcery, not an instant or sorcery that targets. I "may" choose new targets for the spell, it does work with Manamorphose.

Tratorous blood seems okay, but in the competitive Modern Meta-game. The big creatures I need to get rid of usually are ones I'd rather just make the opponent sacrfice, or ones I couldn't even touch (Emrakul, the Aeons Torn). Rakdos Lord of Riots is strong, but he'd make my Master of Cruelties cost Red/Black, not free. I'm not really interested in graveyard shenanigans, I honestly just want advice/tips on the possible combo I posted in the OP. Multiple copies of Manamorphose off of Izzet Guildmage to draw and store mana, to either combo out lightning bolt or put down Master of Cruelties with break through the line on the field for the win.

sounds great, but that card makes me sacrifice a creature, not the opponent. The hope is to get master of cruelties on the field with Break through the line in play, so I can attack with haste/unblockable immediately.

General Magic / Modern Combo help needed

Soooo, brewing this combo, trying to figure out if it's going to work out like I want it to. The plan? Training grounds turn 1, followed by Goblin Electromancer and Izzet Guildmage, eventually a break through the line, copy manamorphose till I hit a master of Cruelties, haste him, burn for the win.

BUT!, still trying to figure out if/how the copy combo of izzet guildmage and electromancer with training grounds will work out properly with manamorphose. secondary win con is just copy manamorphose enough to burn out with copies of lightning bolt of magma jet.

Any help?
