Deck Reviews / [Standard] R/W Howling Burn
« on: December 03, 2014, 08:29:14 pm »

Howl of the horde is one of the best hidden secrets in the standered format right now.  For [R][2] mana, you can copy any instant or sorcery spell, and cast it up to 3 times.  In other  words, if you cast a howl of the horde into a titan strength that boosts any normal creature by 9/3, or any creature with prowess 12/6/  now that’s one powerful seeker of the way.  Same thing goes for any instant, my personal favorites being stoke the flames and hordleing outburst.

Now down to the strategy.  This deck starts off running like any other burn deck-
Turn 1: play a monastery swift spear-swing for one.(1 mana)
Turn 2: play either a lightning strike-swing for 5- or a seeker of the way to start gaining life-swing for 1 again.(2 mana
Turn 3: play a hordling outburst-triggering prowess on seeker of the way and swift spear- and swing for 5, gaining 3 life.
Turn 4: play a howl of the horde on either a titan strength or a stoke the flames and hit for game, or close too it.
If turn 5+ happens, use dragon mantle and tormenting voice(along with magma jet to get better draws from tormenting voice) to refill your hand.

Please let me know what you think, and or what I should add or take out!  I have been debating splashing blue to be able to play cards like dig through time and mantis rider, but it has been pointed out to me by a friend that it might make the deck a little to inconsistent.
