General Magic / Re: Green or No Green?

If there's something else you'd include that was green like you mentioned with Putrefy I could see adding it, Sylvan Scrying, & some dual lands, but I wouldn't for just four cards and I wouldn't take out all the basics in case someone is running Blood Moon or some kind of Ruination effect.
in this case, I'd run basic in my sb, probably two of each

This is pretty much exactly what I'm thinking. Swap out the swamps for duals and run 2 of each basic in SB. I think I'm gonna also do away with or at least sideboard In Garruk's Wake as well. It's awesome when it happens but with 4 spatial contortions and if I add in the putrefy then by the time I can cast it the opponent shouldn't have much of a board state anyway. Also considering something like ruinous path for targeting planeswalkers. Thanks for all the opinions.

General Magic / Green or No Green?

In a Tron deck is it worth adding green and making my 8 non-Tron lands all dual lands for no other reason than to have Sylvan Scrying?
I have a mono-black tron that works ok but I tend to have trouble getting Tron "online" (despite running 4 Expedition Maps). If I add green I can run Sylvan Scrying and was thinking about sideboarding Putrefy. Thoughts?

This is roughly the deck in question:

I would be swapping out the Cruel Edicts for the Sylvan Scrying and adding the edicts to the sb.

Things to consider adding or at least sideboarding:
Slip Through Space
Elusive Spellfist
Anticipate
Thought Scour

A guy at my LGS lost to his own Triskaidekaphobia at pre-release. It was pretty funny.

I had thought about nettle drone but decided against it because the thing I like about molten nursery is that I can also target their creatures. Nettle doesn't do that and he is also only 1 toughness which makes him easy to remove himself. Flayer Drone also fits the same description as nettle. I do like Visions of Brutality that's definitely going to be added in place of something. But I may do a complete revamp and try out nettle and flayer if what I have now doesn't work. I'm taking this deck to FNM tomorrow so we'll see how it does.

I have found Endless One to be great in Tron. He can get really big really fast or if you happen to get screwed and can't get Tron activated he can be cast for whatever mana you have available.

B/R Devoid

Use all colorless spells to trigger Molten Nursery and Sky Scourer...
Think about adding in Spacial Contortion and/or Warping Wail but not sure what to replace.

Any help appreciated

My big fear is that I'll want to do something that is not in line with all of the devoid stuff I've been working with.

Yeah I've been working on a B/R Devoid deck loosely based around Molten Nursery and Sky Scourer. Haven't played it at a FNM or anything yet but my intent is to design it to beat the U/R Prowess that is dominating at my LGS right now. Luckily for us all Monastery Swiftspear is rotating out of Standard.

My infect deck routinely has turn 2 or 3 wins; if I draw the right hand, there is literally no way to stop it in time. I don't play it often (and it was one of my first modern decks, so I didn't know any better) but it is fun to frustrate high-level players that take the game very seriously.

A buddy of mine has a U/G Infect like this. It's ridiculous the only hope is to be able to have Spellskite on the field when they go to pump up Glistener Elf or be able to Path to Exile it or some other form of quick removal. Everyone gets pissed when he plays it.

General Magic / Re: Using Rare Cards

Decks are double sleeved. Rares and Uncommons are in binders with 9 slot sheets. Commons are in fat pack boxes. Everything is organized by color.

I've seen double sleeved alot at my LGS, people there tend to play with hundreds of dollars in lands not to mention whatever is in their decks. Me personally I don't even have all my decks single sleeved yet but eventually would like to double sleeve for extra protection. They use a special sleeve called (or at least they call?) an exact fit. As the name implies it fits very very tight (almost too tight imo) onto the card so that it can then fit into an Ultra-Pro or Dragon Shield or whatever your choice of sleeves may be.

I tried playing 4-player EDH a few days ago. Big thing about your decks, make sure that you get the mana that you need. I was running a Meren of clan nel toth B/G sacrifice deck and I couldn't even get 10 mana out the entire game. I had no board state most of the game but I surprisingly came out 2nd. Tips for everyone, have at least 30-45 lands in your EDH decks please (unless you have enough mana ramp). It looks bad to get mana screwed against a W/U, Mono Red artifact and Naya decks.

I LOVE my Meren EDH deck. However I've never had mana issues. I run 36 lands with a little ramp in too. Sakura-Tribe Elder and Burnished Hart are excellent in that deck. Also Veridian Emissary, Veridian an Sakura you can just attach Skullclamp to and get a land plus draw 2 cards.

@WWolfe that is definitely something I'm interested in seeing... I tend to add all my foils to my edh decks simply because I usually don't have multiples of the foil. I'd be willing to cut down on the % if need be though to do this.. sounds really cool.

you need Giant Growth and Titanic Growth

I agree but I replaced them by there equivalent with Trample (Awaken the Bear, Predator's Strike, Thread Upon, Enlarge, etc..)

With all that I'm at 114 cards, it's time to do some cleaning to go back to 100

Most infects stick to the growth's because of their low mana cost but that's also in Modern and since this IS for Commander where mana usually isn't an issue so I can understand going with the trample.

also for tutors don't leave out Increasing Ambition... with the flashback ability it's pretty good too

find a really weird commander that can be good for everyone. and DONT buy any cards for it. use what you have and smash it together. It will be a strange and fun deck b /c it will be different everytime you use it and wont have a theme

See if I did this I would most likely just end up with a crappy deck.
