Always like a good Ur-Dragon deck. Curious about a couple inclusions.

What does Chromanticore bring to the table?

Because you have a lot of taplands, you could run a more green-heavy manabase and things like Skyshroud Claim, Farseek, Tempt with Discovery.

Otherwise you might have a hard time getting the manabase you need.

General Magic / Re: Games that made you question your loyalty to Magic

Two games come to mind.

Game one, we’re at the kitchen table and wrapping game one when another guy drops in. Sure, cool, his commander is Neheb, the Eternal. Cool, that’s fine, I decide to keep rolling with my 25$ Talrand. his turn one rolls in and we see the Mana Crypt and Grim Monolith drop. The rest of the game was fairly inconsequential, I had some sway over the table as “the mono blue deck”, but what ground my gears was the enormous rift between the power level of thetable and the guy. It was clear a lot of money was in this deck, which I don’t really look down on, but everyone else was 50-200$ neighborhood. I’m mostly to blame, for not asking around for power level, or grabbing a better deck, but everyone was around the same level as each other bar me and him. Now I always ask around for power level before starting play. Lesson learned. But I really doubted if I wanted to play commander again if that was going to be the environment.

Other game was a lot simpler. One of my favorite cards in the game is Opalescence for the awesome art and game-winning effect. I draw into it and need blockers real bad so I play it down. Only, I had Enchanted Evening on my board too. So all enchantments are creatures with power/toughness equal to their cmc. And all permanents are enchantments. So, everyone’s lands are enchantments, therefore becoming 0/0 creatures, and die, oops, and I felt really bad for causing mass land destruction in a chill game. Then we just beat the stuffing out of each other with the rest of our permanents. But I really felt bad. Nobody got mad, but I felt pretty guilty over a card game and didn’t want to play for a bit.

I’d be interested to explore a little bit of the world of the trolls. Perhaps they are truly barbaric and monstrous, but perhaps they also have their own little bits of civilization and ritual. Maybe they detest outsiders but develop close civil bonds with one another. Maybe they, unlike traditional trolls and such, have magical abilities more akin to that of human sorcerers, where they can shape and form the wild magic that is part of their being. That also might not be the way you want to take it ;)
A couple ideas.

War-Chant Drummer
{1} {r} {r}
Creature - Troll (uncommon)
Whenever War-Chant Drummer enters the battlefield or attacks, another creature you control gets +1/+1 until end of turn.

2/1

The beat of his drum echoes the heartbeat of his world.

Also, for Calix:
Calix, Warrior of Nyx
{1} {w} {g}
Legendary Planeswalker- Calix (Mythic Rare)

0: Until end of turn, whenever you cast an enchantment, put a loyalty counter on Calix, Warrior of Nyx
-1: Return target enchantment or artifact to its owner’s hand.
-7: You get an emblem with “Whenever you cast an enchantment, you may exile it instead. Search your library and hand for an enchantment with equal or lower mana cost, then put it on the battlefield.”

Starting loyalty 3

That minus one is a lil busted but I wanted something that would reflect “correcting fate” like, preventing interference, and it’s nice for all the enchantresses out there

Looks pretty solid. What are your biggest threats to this deck? Idk if you have a local playgroup, or sthg.

My suggestion would be:

First, you have lots of good artifact based ramp, but those are subject to removal. Land destruction is generally more difficult and more uncommon in casual EDH. For that, I’d suggest running some sorcereries to grab lands. These are very useful because your early mana base is crucial, and missing a land drop can be really rough. For that, I’d look into Kodama’s Reach, Cultivate, Rampant Growth, Explosive Vegetation, and perhaps Sakura-tribe Elder and Farseek. I usually run the first four in any green deck with a few commanders as exception.

For untapping moves, you can’t go wrong with Dramatic Reversal. Two mana to untap all your creatures and mana rocks.

And finally, it seems like your general strategy to win in the endgame is go-wide. You have many creatures and cards that support placing +1/+1 counters on many creatures. I might focus on that win condition, and use cards that have the Proliferate mechanic and cards that generally support +1/+1 strategies. Vorel of the Hull Clade springs to mind as a good choice, for example.

Doran offers nice treefolk synergy and black means plenty of strong tutors. If you cut some of the walls it would probably be more consistent, considering there's no easy guaranteed way to make sure walls can attack with this commander.

I personally don’t have a problem with it. For some it’s a habit/tic, and I get that. If you’re bending the heck out of them, I might feel bad for the cards and sleeves though.

5 color means plenty of nice board wipes. I’d throw in a couple of those.

Chromatic Lantern and Coalition Relic are really nice for 5c decks.

Consider duplicate haste enablers like Goblin War Drums. The idea is to be killing the enemy with a swarm of slivers before they can even set up properly, right?

Panharmonicon seems decent enough.

Off the top of my head, doubling season, maybe volt charge?

Deck Reviews / [EDH / Commander] Derevi's tap-dancing merfolk

Tuvasa merf

Looking for advice on direction to take this deck. I originally wanted to use Tuvasa but I think Derevi is probably a little stronger. I'm torn between tap shenanigans, +1/+1 simic, and generic tribal. Any suggestions are welcome. I really want to focus this deck.

Curious why you are using Zacama for the tribal and not Gishath

Looking good. I’d probably drop whitewater naiads, they aren’t all that good. Consider Thassa instead!

You could probably skew your mana base green and run lots of green ramp.
