Hi Jocavipi,

I like very much your deck, I can see why you prefer using Yisan over Selvala.

Can you elaborate on why you don't play exploration and use burgeoning instead?

Also, why do you play cards like umbral mantle and staff of domination that are primarily cards to go infinite with selvala type decks instead of using more stax pieces to help develop yisan ability?

Hi Gmacoor,

Thanks! I also love Yisan because it has from my perspective way more interaction and combo lines that Selvala.

Answering your questions:

- I don't play Exploration because Burgeoning lets me play a land in every player turn when they play a land, in a low land deck like this, this ability works and gets exploited if I'm bouncing my forests to untap Yisan with something like Quirion Ranger, this keeps me going in each opponent turn.
- I play Umbral Mantle and Staff of Domination because if I have them in my starting hand or I draw them early in the game I can go for Selvala, Heart of the Wilds in Verse 3 and go infinite. With infinite mana I can then tap and untap Yisan infinitely for the win.

Hi Morganator 2.0,

I have extended the deck description taking into consideration some of the valid points you've made.

To answer some of your questions:

- The deck is focus on milling yourself and winning with Thassa's Oracle, putting some backups like Laboratory Maniac and Jace, Wielder of Mysteries can be added but I focused on other cards to be able to interact with any response my opponents have.
- Endurance is not a big problem because if you are casting ThOracle it means you have all your permanents with croak counters in exile and you could cast other way to mill yourself and copy or recast your ThOracle for the win.
- I'm adding Mesmeric Orb + Basalt Monolith, I didn't put them at first but I just realized the value it brings to some answers like endurance because you can mill yourself in instant speed.

I hope your other inquiries are answered with the extended deck description.

Hi KingKia, I wasn't trying to sell the Primer description as my own, I build the deck with some changes and used the primer you talk about as a good description for how the deck works, obviously adding the changes I made to the deck, but you are right it can be seen like that, I've put a disclaimer on the description where the source came from, I hope that clarifies your point

I actually do use Snow-Covered Forest in the deck, I've made the change in the Decklist.

Underworld Breach, and Thoracle Consultation can be responded with Endurance, what I do when playing against other faster players is hold back a little the verse 3 so I can respond to a quick win like that. You have to rely on stax pieces at the beginning to get the Yisan engine running, decks that run Thoracle Consultation usually don’t respond that we to creature spells and searching in verse one for Sylvan Safekeeper is your best defense through the entire game.

Aven Mindcensor, Linvala and Containment Priest are strong weakness for this deck, that is why I run Kogla, the Titan Ape, Somberwald Stag, Ulvenwald Tracker, Song of the Dryads, Lignify, Beast Within and Mouth of Ronom to take care of that cards.

Usually other players are more invested on searching and protecting their combos, or holding back answers for other player combos and don’t focus that much in the mono green deck, that is what I love about Yisan, once you can protect it from being targeted, you don’t have to cast anything else for the resto of the game and just respond with its ability.

I don’t use Exploration because this deck ramps very fast and Burgeoning is much better choice because you can use it to bounce a forest and play it every turn, the same is true with Sakura-Tribe Scout but I took it out to make room for stronger new cards in the deck.

Finally, I wouldn’t use Heroic Intervention although is a great card for Boardwipes, because I focus on single target answers like Veil of Summer and Autumn’s Veil. Nature’s Claim is one more piece to remove Artifacts or enchantments and the decks has a lot of it already I could addition Blast Zone
