Elves. I'm all about mana ramping green, baby. Elvish Warmaster was just added to my latest Modern deck.

For standard - totally.

I'm a modern player, so I just love sprinkling in new cards here and there. I play green decks that eventually let me play forests as any land/mana, so the look on people's faces when I pull a card like the above is totally worth it.

That ratio makes total sense!

I'm still amazed by Infernal Grasp. Finally an unconditional, instant speed 1B costed creature removal.

Also love the flavor of Champion of the Perished / Champion of the Parish  :)

Oh, that'll be fun to sprinkle in ye olde sideboard!

From my understanding - the entire idea of mana weaving is flawed - because if you're actually shuffling correctly you'll randomize your deck correctly and it'll work optimally if your mana curve is correct.

Isn't it scientifically and mathematically proven that 7 ridge/riff shuffles in a row is optimal for randomization?

Might only be for 60 cards so I'll gladly be incorrect here.

All I know is when I do that, my deck performs stellar, and I find I almost nail that 1/5 bad games probability on the nose.

Desolator Magic YouTube taught me all I needed to know on shuffling lol.

My lord that artwork is glorious. I'm looking too hard, and probably missing something right in front of me. Clueless on this one!
Lower left corner in the water, the Finding Nemo fishes.

The funny part is, I THOUGHT that to myself upon first glance, but assumed it couldn't be so simple!

Landale's post is great. I will never not read that card as "Bongbeast". No wonder it's not legal in Modern; it would trigger some serious overwhelm FAST!

I believe they're already planning to do a 2022 core set next year, on the actual year, no?

General Magic / Re: Updating decks on here- when do you do it?

I bounce back and forth between the extremely convenient interface here, and my physical cards. I build my latest modern deck entirely on the builder here, then bought the cards I was missing. That was the most fun I've had making a deck in YEARS. Seeing all the mana distribution, etc. right there makes it so much easier for me to tweak, tighten up, and adjust loose ends.

I'll add batches of cards to my collection each week on here, etc.

Omnath, Locus of Creation keeps crossing my path; does that mean I should put him in my sideboard?

Turn To Frog is still my preferred CMC for frog stuff simply because it's an instant for the same cost.

Hello,
Congrats on making your first deck!
I would advice you to add more card draw.
Cards you could drop incluide Scurrid Colony, Verdant Force, Nissa of Shadowed Boughs.
Just my thoughts quickly going over your list.

Hi there, thanks for your answer!!

Do you think Moldervine Reclamation was a nice add-in to more card draw?
I want to play Verdant Force, because with persist and final parting are pretty easy to play.

Thanks @SmellyLeopard.

Canopy Tactician , Early Harvest for additional mana ramping.
Thanks for your answer, you think I need more mana ramp? Probably your suggestions could be a nice cards in any green deck.

Thanks @Loaded Shaman.

I'm all about green and getting big creatures out ASAP, so I saw your elves and that's where my mind went. Green, when used this way, I find exhibits the best of its abilities. Personal preference and experience, of course! I'm a sucker for a good mana ramp.

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: Lathril, Blade of Elves
« on: July 27, 2021, 11:14:54 am »
Hahaha yeah%u2026 see that%u2019s part of the issue. So ideally I would like the deck to have 2 win cons; use Lathril%u2019s tap ability to drain life, and/or go wide and swing a bunch of elves with trample. Ideally, Lathril would be enough but she is an easy target and if she dies or the board gets wiped she become useless which is why I thought I needed another win con. The low costing mana dorks are to help me build manna to get more and more cards out that either create more tokens or help with combat damage. I think I might have stretched the deck a little too thin in terms of trying to do too many things at once instead of focusing on one or two strong objectives. I hope this all makes sense%u2026

My suggestion is always use elves for ramping; Elvish Mystic and/or Llanowar Elves, to Incubation Druid, to Canopy Tactician and you're cranking; the last one adds +1/+1 to all other elves, too!

Ramp ramp ramp to something like Craterhoof Behemoth and then just steamroll them with that +X/+X trample w boosted elves! I win so many games this way, lol.
