Deck Comments / Re: Mardu reveler - Comments

I like the deck. I am currently thinking of a mardu reveler list my own.
I think the main deck is almost fine except the mana base. I guess you choosed wooded foothills as you don't have arid mesa.
Beside that, I would highly reccomend one westvale abbey. Your pyromancer, and your lingering souls will generate so many tokens, that you will have 5 creatures to sacrifice into the abbey in many games.
Also having a manland for some occasions is helpful, too. You can put one shambling vent inside for more lifegain.

Hey, the list sure is fun.
I would recommend to take out nykthos as it does nothing for you.
you don't need that much mana, but you want to ensure that you are able to produce double white at turn two.

BW Zombie tribe

This deck is going wide and makes a ton of extra value. The high synergy is helpful at any state of the game.
Let me know your comments on the deck and the sideboard in specific. What ideas for optimization do you have?

BR,
Chris

Competitive Bw Zombies light

Viel Extravalue durch wiederkehrende Threats die bei z.B. Discard die Symetrie brechen;
Synergien zwischen verschiedenen Karten durch den Zombie Typus;
Recht hohe Kontroller der gegnerischen Hand durch zahlreichen Discard;
Große Menge an Kreaturen fÃŒr die Bordkontrolle;

Leylines for the Gods

As powerful as the Gods of Theros are, they are seeing almost no play in modern. One of the strongest among them is Athreos, God of Passage. As a simple enchantment making your dying creatures return to your hand if the opponent is not willing to pay 3 life each, it's strong, but as an indestructible 5/4 creature it's a hell of a threat. But a BW devotion of 7 is hard to achieve... Unless you have some enchantments entering the battlefield for free like our Leylines. The core idea of this deck should be obvious now.
The rest is a control shell build around the Leylines themselves, some discard and tokens. Cryptbreaker and Collective Brutality take a benefit out of the leylines we draw later in the game and of the lingering souls. leyline of the meek does support the backup token plan. Please let me know your thoughts on this deck.
Thanks in advance, BR, Chris

Deck Comments / Re: Blue, Birds, & Beyond - Comments

HI,
I like the deck. The idea is known but no one expects an aggressive blue deck in competitive tournaments. You could kinda "ambushviper" your way to some top score at some lgs.
Nevertheless I would suggest a few changes.
Even though owls are great, you should use Mausoleum Wanderer instead of Judge's Familiar. At least the opponent has to pay more mana as soon as any of your anthem effects is online. And nice to have: playing a second one whilst the first one is on the battlefield it will be pumped.

Your two lords, Architect and liege, are powerfull... in other decks. Here they do pump your creatures, but their other abilities are not very useful here. Did you Consider adding white? just a little splash would provide a lot of possibilities. For your main deck you could exchange the 2 lords with Thunderclap Wyvern. His Flash is a great upside and he pumps the copter without activating architects ability. And for the Sideboard white is the premium color. Mana base wise I would just add 2 shocklands and 1 plains for 3 islands.
Concluding my suggestions:
-4 Judges Familiars +4 Mausoleum Wanderer
-2 Grand Architect -2 Glen Elendra Liege +4 Thunderclap Wyvern
-3 islands +2 Hollowed Fountain +1 Plains

Hope I could help with my ideads.

Just added some control in the existing colors. brutality is a great synergy with bloodghast and souls ad gives us several options of use. inquisition will help in the earlygame, too. I've cut Sorin for Elspeth as she will do the game on her own once she's in. Was thinking which one will be the best removal PTE or Push or something else... picked PTE here. Your thoughts?

Revision 3

Added/removed cards:
-3 Apostle's Blessing
-3 Ghostly Prison
-3 Hidden Stockpile
-3 Sorin, Grim Nemesis
+3 Collective Brutality
+2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion
+4 Inquisition of Kozilek
+4 Path to Exile

Changed amounts:
-1 Utter End

Thanks guys for your input.
You're right and I will think of adding blue for some control options. The mana could be also accelerated by some nice artifacts as well. For example Hedron archive. Having a funnel on the battlefield will make it enter "free of charge" and later it'll make an acceptable card draw.
Nice thing is that expensive counters will be great. Fuel for cause or bone to ash e.g..
To put it in a nutshell we should reduce the expensive cards in order to make room for blue color and some control optionsthere.
So which win option should we keep? Over all what out, what in?

blood funnel Mentor

Blood Funnel has great potential but no home in modern at all.
I think Mentor does give us the chance to change this. Monastery Mentor and Bloodghast do give Funnel the recourses we need to cast expensive spells which don't see modern as well. Let's check that idea and try to create a deck around that.
Beeing thank full for your help and support on this. BR Chris
