She does work.  -3 kills allot of early game creatures that can get out of control, and sticks around to heal and draw.  Also, you can sacrifice any other permanent with her +1, even lands.

FNM results are 4-0 this week. i had a good mix of matches this fnm.

2-0 Simic Quasi-Ooplicate, I had no idea his game plan was ooze until after the match and we shared deck lists

Game 1 I played on the draw.  Turn 2 he played incubation druid, I turn 2 soc spd killed it.  He must not have had a turn 3 or 4 play w.o it, beuasue he just played a tap land and passed. my turn 3 I was able to play spellbreaker hasted and domri turn 4 -3 got Zhur-Taa and fanatical firebrand. he played llanowar elf and tap land. I played double riot  zhur-taa with domri and 2 fanatical firebrand.  He played Ooze and i sacced both firebrand to kill main ooze. I -3 domri for zhurtaa and hellkite.  he scooped.

Game 2 he changed the deck up to play 4 different counters essence capture, sabatoge, disdain, and frilled mystic in various amounts and only ooze, Helm of host and quasiduplicate. i sided out firebrands for 3 drill bits and vraska relic seeker
i played behind his opening of 4 blues and him countering my Zhurtaa, spellbreaker, spellbreaker, and he did not get a green land turn 5, and he passed to me, i play domri and it sticks, then i -3 to get hellkite and zhurtaa.  he misses his land again, and miss my land and draw spellbreaker #3. i play zhurtaa with domri that gets countered, then play spellbreaker sticks. he gets a green, plays incubation druid. I get land, play hellkite with domri, and he counters.  he plays land, incubation druid pass.  I topdeck carnage tyrant and -3 domri to hit branch walker and zhurtaa. I play carnage, he plays frilled mystic in response. he plays nothing on his turn and passed to me, and i just swing for lethal.

2-0 Esper control

Game 1 i was on the draw, but some how i was able to get through to his life.  He played syncopate on my turn 2 zhur ta, absorbed my spellbreaker and thought erased 1 of my domri. my turn 4 i play my second domri -3 into hellkite and spell breaker. He pass with mana open.  I play harpooner with domri, it sticks. I use the harpooner to bring him down to 8 over the next few turns as nothing else sticks, and if it does it gets removed i drop carnage tyrant one turn, then play a hasted spellbreaker the next. this prevented the settle he was holding. Nothing special happened to get me this win i feel outside of playing being able to topdeck gas every turn where he was drawing lands.

Game 2 I sided out fanatical firebrands, 1 trophy, 1 vraska, 1 lighting strike for 4 cindervines and 3 drill bits.  i feel like drill bit helped me in this match up extremely.  When you are able to play drill bit for spectacle cost, and play a creature behind it, it works extremely well vs control.  I was able to get more creatures on this board this game, but he found all his removal and counterspells, flashed in Angel of Grace, and exiled it.  Domri is MVP this match as i used -3 on domri 4 times this game only wiffing once.  i was able to cast 12 creatures by the time his hand empty.  I was able to +1 domri and give harpooner haste and swing for a big 15 for lethal.

2-0 Izzet Drakes Harpooners main deck is madness.  Cindervines in side deck is even madder.
Since this and mono blu has been 30-50% of the meta, if you play green and dont main deck Kraul Harpooners in some fashion, you are doing yourself a disservice

Game 1 i was on the draw (again x.x) and his turn 1 was petramander and turn 2 was goblin electromancer. my turn 2 was harpooner killing ptremander :). he main phase shocked my harpooner and swung with electromancer.  I played Zhur taa, but when i asked if it resolved, he immediately went to shock it, but i could tell and paused him, told him to slow down, and placed a 1/1 counter on the creature instead of hasting.  this really turned the game for me casue i knew he didnt have any counter spells. Im not sure of specifics from here, but 2 other harpooners took down 1 enigma drake and 1 crackling drake down the line.  i was able to drop a  hasted 5/5 Hellkite with domri to close the game as he had no removal capable of killing it.

Game 2 i sided out 4 firebrands, 1 trophy, 1 carnage tyrant, 1 hellkite, for 4 cindervines and 3 deathgore scavenger. He mulled to 6 and  his turn 1 was island opt at my end phase. turn 2 was land pass.  I played cindervines turn 2, cindervines turn 3, then started playing creatures.  He just kind of froze from there, his hand was full, but he didnt play much.  I killed his turn 4 crackling drake with a harpooner (traded), and his turn 6 crackling drake when i harpooned it, he used dive down, i trophy'd it, he opted (and took 4 damage on my turn xD) drake dies and i keep harpooner. I swing hes at 6 life.  He scoops on his turn next turn.

2-0 Boros Aggro.  This was mostly a pre-alliegance list, so no tithe taker and no hero of precint one.

Game 1 i was on the DRAW :(((( and was a nail biter. i play firebrand turn 1.  He played Vash pyromancer turn 2, lightning striked my 3/3 zhur taa turn 3, and played Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice turn 4, and i had the harpooner in hand to kill it.  I dominated the board from there, and he removed all my creatures.  I remember being at 14 life, and only had firebrand on the field, and i swing to put him at 3 and lighting stike for lethal as my last card in my my hand. HOW ABOUT THIS GUY PLAYS INTEGRITY // INTERVENTION ON MY FIREBRAND SAVING HIM! now im sad, he top decks another Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice, and i topdeck a land 2 times in a row. he gets in for 2 attacks, plays 2 other vash pyromancer and im at 2 now.  I topdeck lightning strike for lethal. xD

Game 2 i sided out 4 firebrands for 3 cannonade and 1 Vraska Relic seeker.  He turn 2 plays knight of grace, and i have to go wide.  i remember at 1 point i actually try to tyophy his knight at grace, but hexproof from black, so yea dumbass me in that moment. turn 4 i have to trade with Tajic, and its able to mentor the knight of grace.  I was able to lighting strike  the next turn and play 3/3 zhur-taa.  He plays 2 swiftblade vindicators turn 5 , and i play 5/5 Hellkite turn 5.  He plays Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice and vash pyromancer, and doesnt swing at all with swiftblade, he knew i had the trophy in my hand, but i was tapped out dont know why he didnt swing at all.  I untapped to trophy aurelia, and swing and use hellkites ability to kill the Vindicators.  He scooped his next turn.

this is my first fnm first place, and 3rd promo light up the stage i have aquired.  Next week will complete my set.  I missed FNM last week due to work.

an experimental change ive made to the sideboard.  I dont think i really ever use the banefires, or the second carnage tyrant as often as i would like, and these may improve my Game 2 vs esper and sultai decks overs all.  i dont see why i cant play drill bit preceding a main phase 2 zhur taa or spellbreaker to extract a counterspell or play around a kill spell.

Hoping to find a way to log my games from arena here, in a legible fashion. arena tracker turn by turn game play is clunky.  Any suggestions?

Revision 29

Added/removed cards:
-2 (SB) Banefire
+3 (SB) Drill Bit

Went to FNM tonite and Did 3-1 with the deck. i got to cocky at the end and fucked off my 4-0 by not choosing to mulligan a 1 land game 2.

2-1 Esper Counter Control, he played alot of counters, like 16. syncopate. no azcanta

Game 1 lost because he had the answer to every creature and spell i played, then out drew me to have 5 cards in hand,  21 life and teferi on board. i scoop.

Game 2 win with resolved gruul spellbreakers and cindervines.  I was able to play cindervines turn 2 and gruul spellbreaker turn 3, he tapped to remove gruul spell breaker, i played zhur-taa Goblin into second cindervines,. he mortifies cindervines, i play gruul spellbreaker and fanatical firebrand. he played the kaya boardwipe, cant remeber the name, i topdecked skarrgan hellkite, he removed the hellkite and i topdecked lethal.

Game 3 I played behind all of his counters but was able to resolve 2 cindervines around turns 4 and 6, and resolve a carnage tyrant turn 8, he played 2 wardens, and i swung with carnage tyrant and removed a sphinx to take control of the board. he found no board wipes and i resolved a gruul spellbreaker next turn to prevent the settle for the win.

2-0 Liches Mastery These games were pretty smooth.  I Deleted azcanta both games

game 1 i played on draw and beat out his healing, although he got out liches mastery and 20 cards in the GY, 12 permanants 2 in hand. i had 1 spellbreaker and 1 zhur taa on the field with domri, and upticked into a hasted 9/2 Harpooner, he scooped.

Game 2 I added the cindervines in place of fanatical firebrands, because i was on the draw, i dont really have a good reason why i didnt replace the haropooners instead, but thats for next time.  The cindervines helped immensely vs gift of growth and revitalize, removal, and draw.  he played on the back foot and used 2 mortifies on cindervines. i got really lucky to play three before turn 7.   Turn 1 tap land, turn 2 cinder vines, turn 3 cinder vines, turn 4 spellbreaker - removed, turn 5 domri uptick zhur taa, turn 6 downtick into harpooner and hellkite, play hellkite hasted - removed,  topdeck spell breaker, uptick spellbreaker both with haste.  he uses 3 revitalizes and 2 growth so hes at like 6 after he wipes the spellbreakers, but scoops realizeing hasted harpooner or the 3rd cindervines on board is going to ruin his lichs mastery

2-0 mono red steamkin experimental frenzy

game 1 both of us played fanatical firebrand, but i was able to provide more threats he had to deal with.  He killed my creatures sparingly, which ended up being his mistake, but he burned me out in the end. i left him at 2 hp

Game 2 I side in Deathgore in place of harpooner, and  he played sorc spyglass - in my hand was domri and golgari queen.  i had no black mana, and a land in hand to place domri next turn.  I eluded to the fact that IFF "i top deck a black mana, your spyglass is gone" and he proceeds to pick vraska. i place domri, downtick into spellbreaker and zhurtaa, he plays experimental frenzy, i spellbreaker zhurtaa haste, he plays land, shocks zhur taa, plays 2 Vash. Pyro.  my turn i uptick domri into hellkite swing 5/5 and spellbreaker. he cleans up the hellkite, and i topdeck lightning strike and swing with spellbreaker for lethal.

Game 3 is a race to the finish.  He stabalizes with chainwhirler but i end up top decking the land and play carnage tyrant behind it.  he topdecks electrostatic field, i topdeck lightning strike, and swing with  spellbreaker and carnage tyrant. OPP splits blocks to lose the electrostatic field, and kill the spellbreaker with chainwhirler. and i lightning strike his face for lethal.

0-2  Simic

Game 1 i land flooded at turn 4 and lost to him having krasis incubation druid and 2 chamber gaurdians.

game 2 I Mulled down to 5 with 1 land bottomed top.  Drew 6 cards and no lands.  GG  Bad game to end the night.

I feel like i always add Golgari queen in the second game for extra removal, and she is rarely not good.  I feel thats because i encounter alot of midrange and aggro right now, and not so much control, as i easily blow out control.

4x Cindervines in second game vs any spell based deck - Storm, most Any Reclamation deck, Esper control, BW control, Jeskai control, Pheonix builds - is devastating.  I struggle with go Krasis/wildgrowth midrange decks, which makes me think i need a way to add more removal iff need be, but i like my sideboard and main.  i think everyone is having a hard time with Krasis decks, and im honestly 50/50 with them. might drop a hellkite for another golgari queen and add it to the main.

I might find a replacement for Deathgore Scavenger, or add another one so it will be more consistent when i put him in the main.  He is great for the sultai and golgari midrange matchups.  Ill do a little experimenting on the side

I added Vraska, Golgari Queen in place of the 4th Carnage Tyrant in the sideboard to help with the Simic midrange matchup as she instantly kills any size Hydroid Krasis

Hey GolgariFTW thank you.  I should be able to put this together and try it out at the FNM this friday.  I like the idea of the Relic seeker rather than adding another carnage tyrant, and taking the dragons down to 3.

I am still thinking about the sideboard, and mulling over a few cards to have in there.  Fight with Fire and Lava coil are top contenders to replace banefire, the carnage tyrants, or the scavengers.  After watching the SCG event last night i think the change is needed.

Added Rootbound Crag to balance mana base more

Carnage was bad at 4 trying just 2, added Skarrgan hellkite to try it out, seems good. left 2 in sideboard for control matchups, but may remove.

Harpooners are MVP; they take down drakes and flying 1/1's and combo with Domri well.

Risk factors may go in sideboard, they just end up clunking up my had, and add no value to the board. right now they are out.

Revision 22

Added/removed cards:
-3 Risk Factor
-1 Swamp
+3 Rootbound Crag
+4 Skarrgan Hellkite
-3 (SB) Vraska's Contempt

Changed amounts:
-2 (Main) +2 (SB) Carnage Tyrant
+1 Domri, Chaos Bringer
-2 Forest

Assassin's Trophy is a good reason to have black in your deck, and it eliminates alot of threats you otherwise couldnt game one.  There maybe a day where I give it up in place of shock but today isnt that day xD

Thank you for the input GolgariFTW, you are completely correct about how restrictive my manabase is.  I have basically sworn off the checklands in place of basic and shocklands, as they are awful when combined with other checklands or paired with lands that do not meet the requirements for coming in untapped.

Yes, the chupacabra does not come out reliably on turn 4, but i feel that the problem is that hes never on time for the right creature, or i am 1 swamp short from casting him.  I ask myself why he is in the deck at all, aside from being a well rounded card, and could be fetched by Domri -3, but the things i want him to kill get dive downed, and at 4 mana, i feel it would be better to find removal thats less mana restrictive and may flow better with the deck like Kraul Harpooner, which could potentially swing for a large sum if paired properly with Domri.

I never have a problem with playing trophy.   I like the Llanowar Elves for 2 main reasons: Ramp and expendability.  Its always nice to play a spell 1 turn faster, and 75% of my cards require a green mana.  I did however remove the Shock spells and added Viashino Pyromancer as i feel it adds better to my gameplan, and increases creature count, which was poor for domri at only 21 creatures.

Ill play with this build and see if it puts up results.
