Exiled umfassende Zurückweisung alle Kreaturen und Artefakte oder verstehen ich das falsch?

Quelle gatherer:
Only activated and triggered abilities on the stack are countered. Static abilities of objects remain unaffected, and activated and triggered abilities of objects may be activated or may trigger again later in the turn. Spells and abilities that have already resolved aren’t affected.

Also nein, alles was auf dem Stack liegt wird exiled und gecountert. Alles was bereits liegt, bleibt unberührt

I looked at your deck, but I find no reason for adding Wastes. If you really have no reason to do it, you should avoid it because that makes your mana so much worse, otherwise i would like to know the reason of that choice.

6 wates are wasted slots.
Couldnt get to 100 cards so i need to find 6 good cards to replace those 6 wastes.

Well you could play some ramp spells like : Arcane Signet; Cabal Ritual, Charcoal Diamond; Mind Stone, Wayfarer's Bauble, Commander's sphere or Bubbling Muck

I looked at your deck, but I find no reason for adding Wastes. If you really have no reason to do it, you should avoid it because that makes your mana so much worse, otherwise i would like to know the reason of that choice.
Why is self-discard such a big thing in this deck? The only card which will synergize with self-discard is bone miser.

Good point! Any suggestions about how to improve on this?

tbh I would cut the self-discard theme because losing hand cards is not worth. Self-discard like awaken the erstwhile is ok but something like Zombie Infestation doesn´t look like a good card in this deck.
Try to ad some sacrifice cards like Fleshbag Marauder or Plaguecrafter instead.

but this is only my opinion.

Good point here!

I also have a few questions here.
Why playing 42 lands and just a sol ring as a real ramp spell? a lot of high cmc cards and actually no ramp will make this deck very slow
Why is self-discard such a big thing in this deck? The only card which will synergize with self-discard is bone miser.

Question: I am looking at Savai Triome and Path of Ancestry, which both come in tapped but have synergies with my deck. Are they still worthwhile to remain in the deck? Or should they be swapped out with something else?

They both worth to play. Nomad Outpost is a card which you can drop, because savai triome is just the better nomad outpost.
Bojuka Bog, Savai Triome and Path of ancestry should be your only tapped lands.

Bojuka - Gravehate on a landdrop? Nice
Savai Triome - cycling and a land which is a Swamp, Mountain or Plains is totally worth playing
Path of ancestry is kinda must have for tribal decks.

I wouldn´t play the temple cards because scry 1 is not worth the speed loss in my opinion. Not in a deck like markov. I would swap them for a mountain and a plains because you don´t have even one of them.

I would recommend  Dusk Legion Zealot  because of the draw. It´s a cantrip and you´ll get two creatures out of it.
Ther other changes sounds good for me, I´m not a fan of the Guul Draz Assassin if you want to play him then go fort it.

Thanks KingKia. I acquired some of the cards mentioned prior and made some swaps:

- Swapped Bloodthirsty Aerialist for Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle
- Swapped Tithe Drinker for Cruel Celebrant
- Swapped Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord with Whip of Erebos
- Swapped Immersturm Predator for Olivia Voldaren
- Swapped Knight of the Ebon Legion for Viscera Seer
- Swapped Olivia, Mobilized for War for Drana's Emissary - Let me know your thoughts on this one as this one is debatable.
- Removed Pulse Tracker and added Shared Animosity
- Swapped Guul Draz Assassin for Nullpriest of Oblivion

Let me know you think.

The changes make sense and fit better with the theme of the deck. What ApothecaryGeist said makes sense and you should take that into account when choosing your landcards. However, try to avoid lands which come into play tapped because of the loss of speed.

I wouldn´t play Drana's Emissary. She has only an upkeep trigger and doesn´t synergized with all the lifelinkers. I would prefer cliffhaven vampire or marauding blight-priest - both of them will synergize with the lifelinkers and effects like cruel celebrant or sanctum seeker

https://deckstats.net/decks/83009/1963004-markov-mardu

Thanks! I actually went back and tweaked some things:

- Swapped Bloodlord of Vaasgoth with Malakir Bloodwitch
- Reason: I think the effect Vaasgoth has is iffy at best while Bloodwitch has a guaranteed ETB effect that I can use as a bomb, which can be triggered even more by Sanguine Blood.

- Swapped Kindred Boon with Unbreakable Formation
- Reason: I like the instant speed of Formation and takes into effect for all my creatures immediately.

- Swapped: Blade of the Bloodchief for Guul Draz Assassin
- Reason: Blade is more Voltron and I'd rather get another vampire token with Assassin instead based on Edgar Markov's eminence effect.

- Swapped: Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord for New Blood
- Reason: Sorin is more single targeted and doesn't really speed the game along. It gave me the ability to put New Blood instead as a slot without messing up my mana curve too much.

- Swapped: Nevinyrral's Disk with Kaya's Wrath
- Reason: I'd rather keep my mana rocks and enchantments while taking advantage of the life-gain after a board wipe. If Sanguine Blood is on the battlefield, it will deal a world of hurt to my opponents.

- Swapped: Austere Command with Blasphemous Act
- Reason: Mana cost is pretty high and Blasphemous Act has been reliable for me in other commander decks I've had.

- Swapped: Skeletal Scrying with Ambition's Cost
- Reason: Still debating this one. The instant speed is nice for Skeletal Scrying. However, if I don't have many vampires in the graveyard, I don't have as much guarantee from a card draw perspective versus the flat out 3 cards I draw with Ambition's Cost. Also, the life loss from Skeletal Scrying can be pretty painful if I need to get more cards.  Thoughts on this one?

- Debating: Swap Tithe Drinker with Dusk Legion Zealot or with Oathsworn Vampire
- Reason: Tithe Drinker as we discussed isn't great. However, I do not have Cruel Celebrant as of this moment. Oathsworn Vampire is nice because I can re-cast him from the graveyard and continue to trigger Edgar Markov's eminence ability. Dusk Legion Zealot is nice for the card draw. Thoughts on this one?

I would recommend  Dusk Legion Zealot  because of the draw. It´s a cantrip and you´ll get two creatures out of it.

I would like to see some other TCG like yu gi oh, duel masters or pokemon crossovers. Dark Magician in a Magic Artwork could be very nice.

Removed: Temple of Malice, Temple of Silence, and Temple of Triumph, Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion, Rogue's Passage, Rugged Prairie, and Bloodfell Caves
Reasoning: Either too slow or didn't line up with the strategy of the deck. The temples are a bit slower and the utility lands mentioned are more Voltron lands.

Added: 7 Swamp to optimize mana base to line up with mana distribution.

Sounds really good ! You should be faster now and have a more optimized mana base.

Hiho Mayday,
I like to help out if I can.
I'll try to answer your questions. Since I've been playing Edgar Markov myself for a long time, I might be able to help you with that.

Quote
1. Is the deck focused enough? Meaning, is having the 2 sub-type themes stretching the deck too thin?

The good thing is that these are not really sub-type themes, but fundamental components of the vampire tribal. You can easily add them into your playstyle because drinking blood and getting stronger is typical for vampires. You can easily play a vampire tribal with a lifegain mechanic and buffs. So Basically your deck is just a vampire tribal you only choosed some vampires with lifegain and counters :-)

There are way more vampire for a life gain sub theme like cliffhaven vampire, indulging patrician, epicure of blood or defiant bloodlord. But you choosed Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose (he is very strong at his own) and sanguine bond as well some very good vampires with lifegain. I think this should work and shouldn´t be a problem for you to run these themes.

Quote
2. I went hog on the lands to ensure an even distribution on the Mardu colors even though 71% of the mana distribution is black. Is this over-kill?

Vampires are mainly black as well as your deck. Edgar Markov is mainly black with a splash of red and white so 71% is absolutely ok. But You should optimize your mana base because of the 71% black mana. You have a lot of cards with bb or even bbb so you should add more black mana resources.

I am intrigued by Nullpriest of Oblivion, New Blood, Boros Charm (I have this in my Syr Gwyn deck already) and Cruel Celebrant. Do you have any recommendations as to what to swap out for those?

Guul Draz Assassin vs Nullpriest of Oblivion
Boros Charm vs Kindred boon or swiftfoot boots - I think an instant is better because of the suprise mother****er effect :-D
New Blood vs. Nevinyrral's Disk not sure if you need this if you just can take the control of the strongest creature
Cruel celebrant vs. Adanto Vanguard adanto is not very strong tbh

you can also change Immersturm Predator vs marauding blight-priest for the sub theme or Olivia voldaren to shoot down some 1/1 creatures or to take a creature also Bloodthirsty Aerialist would be a candidate to swap out
and another option is the whip of erebos for the lifegain theme

Hey there,
did you already played this deck and have some issues or did you just want some card recommendations?

If you need some Card recommendations I can recommend some cards for your theme

Crippling fear : one sided mass removal or a big debuff for the enemy
Pact of the serpent : Draw and win con :-D If you fight against a krenko, mob boss or Lathril, Blade of the Elves you can just let them draw cards and die if they life is low.
Boros charm : is good to protect your stuff, and can give double strike or kill someone with low life
New Blood : mate this card is insane, don´t underestimate this card. You will change ALL instances. for example a Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow  will be a vampire with the effect "whenever a vampire you control..." same is true if you take krenko, mob boss or Lathril, Blade of the Elves.
Exquisite blood : If you are playing sanguine blood and vito you can also play this card to go infinite.
Legion's landing : nice ramp and token creator
Twilight prophet : card avantage and life
anointed procession : extremly strong because of...well yeah more tokens more fun
elenda, the dusk rose : lifelink, +1 /+1 counter and tokens
cruel celebrant: If you can't protect your board from a mass removal, make your opponents pay for it and gain life
nullpriest of oblivion : 2/1 menace and lifelink for 2 mana and if you have too much mana you can revive something.

I don't know your playgroup and I don't know where you currently have problems, so I could only recommend various cards to you. if you put it in more concrete terms, we can talk about it in more detail again.

With Kaldheim I could add some cards for my Markov deck this year :-D

Edgar Markov : Crippling Fear and Pact of the Serpent

Now I´m waiting for Innistrad Vampires

Commander Discussion / Re: Add a color to a Commander
« on: March 09, 2021, 09:44:07 am »
Stephen Green from Commander Vs posted this on Twitter and I thought it was an interesting question...

If you could add one color to any Commander, what color to which Commander and why?

I would add black to Fynn, the fangbearer :-).

Not sure why he is mono green anyway because his mechanic is very blackish but nvm.
With black he would get access to cards like hooded blightfang, Chevill, Bane of Monsters and all the deathtouch creatures for just one b.
Additionally he would get draw potential, mass removal for creatures, the good black tutors and would be overall a better commander.

Primers / Re: cEDH: K'rrik Primer

Hello everyone,
now 9 days have passed and I thought to myself I should ask if there are any questions about the deck. I continued to write out the primer section, explained the win conditions in more detail, included some cards in the single card explanation and added a few budget options.
I also took up the topic of extort and added a few win cons.

I am happy to answer further questions if there are any.

Hello there !
I´ll try to Answer the questions and then add the answer in my deck description.

There are an increasing number of cEDH decks that deal incremental combat damage (Winota, Pako, Yuriko, Kalamax). Being a deck that is dependent on its life total, you are the obvious choice for attacks. Are these decks ever a problem for you? If so, how do you deal with this?

This deck is focused to Play K´rrik in turn 1-3, so normaly you will have a blocker with 2/2 lifesteal which will get bigger for each black spell you will play afterwards. for example, Tymna attacks me - I would declare K'rrik as a blocker and play a vampiric tutor before dmg, K'rrik would be a 3/3 and kill tymna. This is the reason why ppl don´t attack K'rrik just because the are a bit bigger than him because. An outapped K'rrik deck can still cast stuff. And I can play a removal and make K'rrik bigger with one spell just using life and get the life back because of the block.
Yuriko is special, she won´t attack by herself and normally just attacks someone who can´t block, she is one of the commander that should get killed fast by an removal because the dmg can be very high. As long K'rrik is on the field you can still win. So that the other players trying to kill K'rrik, instead to make dmg on me is a bigger problem. Also you can use the reanimator spell to bring back K'rrik so blocking with him isn´t a real problem.

Against a Tymna deck, would you rather use K'rrik as a blocker so Tymna can't get through, or as an attacker to guarantee that you gain life?

I would rather let K'rrik untapped to block and only attack if I really need the life to cast something. But it depends on the cards on my hand and on the decks my enemies are playing as well as the board presence of the other decks.

If you're not using Cruel Bargain anymore, and therefore not trying to win with Thassa's Oracle, is there still a reason to include Praetor's Grasp? It's still a semi-decent disruptive card, but it doesn't seem to fit your more proactive strategy.

Cruel Bargain was not the only option to win with with Thassa's Oracle. With demonic consultation you can still win with thassa, also you can just look for something else like a doomsday, peer into the abyss or just pick the Helm of the host from a godo. It is very flexible because you have 3 decks to pick something and most of them will have something. It is a cedh deck and should played against cedh decks,  most of them will play the typicall cedh cards which we can use and if not we can pick a vampiric tutor and searching in your own deck with a little detour. I like the very flexible usage of this card and it never disappointed me .

So I know why you're not using extort cards, and you know why extort is bad in K'rrik cEDH, but it's important to go over it so that the other readers understand. After all, paying two life to gain three life seems like a pretty good deal, especially during a combo loop.

It does not work as well as many people thought. For example you will drain 3 opponents, 2 instances of Extort will bring back the life lost for each Black mana in a spell’s cost. That is not even accounting for the production of colorless mana. To abuse that in K’rrik, you need Blood Celebrant to change out mana for life. This means you need 3 times the Extort life per life spent on black mana. This means that you need a lot of moving pieces to even get this started. Another problem is, what happens when you need 3 opponents to be alive to keep abusing the Extort but 1 of them dies because they had the lowest life total when you started the loop? The will loop stop. Then you need to try to win another way if you haven’t gotten your other opponents low enough to kill them before you kill yourself by continue the loop in a life-negative situation.

I hope I was able to answer the questions satisfactorily and I look forward to suggestions for improvement and discussions.
