Mind Over Matter + Azami, Lady of Scrolls + Jace, Wielder of Mysteries | Laboratory Maniac

Sphinx’s Tutelage - Another win condition for your deck.

Drake Haven - Some creature generation if you have the mana

Hekma Sentinels - +1/+1 when you Cycle or Discard, you can attack someone and deal some burst damage, more of a blue tempo thing but it is an idea

Curator of Mysteries - Cycle or Discarding allows you to Scry 1, this lets you get to an answer or plan ahead.

Kasmina, Enigmatic Mentor - A little tax plus she makes Wizards, what more could you ask for?

Information Dealer - 2 mana Top for X where X is the number of Wizards you control.
Psychosis Crawler - I mean this is another way to win, just draw your whole library and drain your opponents.

Thought Reflection - Why draw on card when you can draw Double Cards?

These are just some ideas and a little spit balling, good luck on the deck tech and most importantly, have fun.

UPDATE: 8/13/2019
Nothing has changed in the deck yet however with the release of Commander 2019 around the corner I will be looking into increasing the competitive edge on this deck.
I will be reviewing cards such as: K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, Vilis, Broker of Blood, as well as Doomsday and other thing.

EDIT - 6/8/2019

Added more cards from the maybeboard.

Updated the cards with the specific cards they are, also to be noted the Capture of Jingzhou is a Judge Promo as well as Merchant Scroll is a Judge Promo. Turnabout is the IDW special as well.

Added Flusterstorm to Maybeboard. Unsure what I want to cut for that but I am currently thinking Mana Drain?

EDIT - 6/3/2019

Added cards from Maybeboard

EDIT - 5/28/19

Removed - Quicken, Torpor Orb, Trinket Mage

Added - Tribute Mage, Time Stop, Foil

Quicken was added with the idea of making some Sorceries more Dangerous, but I have yet to do that. Torpor Orb really just didn't do much in my play group. Also Trinket Mage only fetched up Sol Ring or Sensei's Divining Top.

I already have covered Time Stop and Foil in the Discussion section, Tribute Mage, new to Modern Horizons dropping here in a few weeks, grabs far more important artifacts. She can fetch Scroll Rack or Isochron Scepter. Both of which are Combo Win conditions within the deck. She is also still 3 CMC (2U) same as the Trinket so it is just a no brain action to include her.

Other Cards on the Chopping block for better cards (If they come up, like Archmage's Charm) would be Blue Sun's Zenith and Spark Double.

EDIT - 5/28/19

Maybeboard Additions - Foil and Time Stop

Foil - when I think about the "Discard Package" Library of Leng makes this a neat set up defense spell. Situation but also utility to counter a spell. Counter by discarding the Island and a Turns spell ( Temporal Manipulation for example )  and stack the top of your library as needed for first turn draw set up.

Time Stop - This really was me just forgetting this card existed and randomly while watching some random YouTube videos on antique restoration my brain said "What about Time Stop" and I was like F&%$. It is a solid spell for protection, you can end a problem players turn, and if you have ways of stacking the top deck on hand, and a way to draw on command. You can end problem players turns and keep the gun loaded. Like a Double Barrel but only using one shell, then you reload the shell you expended. Since this clears the stack of spells, if someone tried to exile something of yours or if someone tried to cheek board wipe that hurts your position in the game you can easily prevent it all with this single spell. You can also just end a turn if you know you have the win on your next turn, you can just end the players turns that are your biggest opposition.

What about ponder? It's no brainstorm, but it is a one time use sensei's divining top.

And Snapcaster mage/torrential gearhulk for recursion. Spelltwine?

Sorry if you've answered some of this, I'm a bit pressed for time, so I only skimmed over the thread.[/spoiler]

I removed ponder because you are correct it is no brain storm. Though I did replace Ponder with Portent. This reason is because of how Kefnet is worded.
Quote
You may reveal the first card you draw each turn as you draw it.
So Portent allows me to skip drawing where Ponder makes me draw right away. I am not able to get a small advantage if there is by chance a Turns Spell up in those three cards.

Spelltwine Snapcaster Mage and Torrential Gearhulk are all okay, but the issue is with the spells I have in the deck, it would mean that you are pay 6 or 6 to recast then Exile a Spell, which would not be a turns spell most likely. Snapcaster give flashback but again it is probably only going to hit spells that are fetches or top deck fixing in some way.

For Spell recursion at the moment is just comes down to using the Archaeomancer and Metallurgic Summonings this is because it will return the spell to my hand which is a little more useful then Exiling them. The Main spells you are worried about are the Temporal manipulation, Time Warp, and Capture of Jingzhou. Though having the capability to Snap back a spell at instant speed is nice, for me I just did not see the value in that within my play group.

Thanks for your thoughts and the time to comment :) if you have any other questions on suggestions I am open to hearing them ^_^

I like this deck idea, I love building around strange commanders that inherently are not "That Great" and making them "Fun" because really Commander is a casual format and is intended to be "Fun." I will avoid the semantics of what "Fun" is and move on to my thoughts.

first of all you have Exsanguinate but not Torment of Hailfire , is there a reason? is if cost or budget? If so that makes sense.

I like the idea of the Silverskin Armor and Clock of Omens, that is nice. You equip Macar and then Tap Him and the Silverskin to untap Macar making a Artifact Gold Token, Tap Macar and the Token to untap Macar... repeat to exile the while board...

so for that I present this idea Ashnod's Altar, Nim Deathmantle, Priest of Gix, and Cathodion / Su-Chi these can generate infinite mana but if you want to avoid that something similar would be say Nim Deathmantle + Su-Chi + Arcbound Ravager or Defiant Salvager all in combination with Sly Requisitioner. With this loop you can make infinite 1/1 servos as well as an infinitely strong creature. Now if you want you could overcomplicate it more with the Silverskin Armor and Clock of Omens and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed.

I would bet there is something more simple then what I just described up there but hell it would be fun to see happen haha.

either way, I like the deck and it gets a star from me :) have fun with it.

Well, I've seen the deck description. ;) but sometimes I'll don't remember every card, thats maybe already inside, if I do some research.

About the Isochron notice: Sometimes it happends to me, that I add some synergies that I haven't noticed at building time. You said, you want a backup for Scroll Rack, and I found one already built in. So I wasn't sure, you've noticed this.

I think replacing the temple with a island (or another land from your maybe board) would be a good idea.

Don't worry I was not offended and I very much love the feedback :) and thank you I agree with the whole, "I did not even think about that synergy when putting it in" thing. I did that in my Pir and Toothy EDH deck... I had Vorel in it and I added Freed from the Real with the intention of doubling counters... I added Kiora's Follower for similar intentions. I was in the middle of a game... and I had to apologize because I did not notice I had infinite mana combo with the Follow Freed and Guilded Lotus.... hahaha

Scroll Rack is a linchpin to the deck, so I had to work way in that allow me to keep doing what I need to do. Isochron Scepter and Brainstorm is one, Jace, The Mind Sculptor is another, and Library of Leng and Merfolk Looter is another. I also like having Karn, the great creator in there for the fact that if someone exiles Scroll Rack or Isochron Scepter I can bring it back from Exlie, or I can exile it myself with Scavenger Grounds and return it with Karn.

I like the deck because even being a Turbo Turn Combo deck, it is a fun Mono Blue Tool box deck with a number of different ways to deal with issues and keep its own agenda working.

Also about Temple of the False God, I am thinking either the island which is okay or maybe Svyelunite Temple which can tap and sac for 2 blue.

Thank you again for the comments and the help, feel free to try the deck out if you can and tell me how it works for you.

avisame cuando tengas todas las cartas, que el mazo es barato

I do not speak Spanish nor do I understand it but what I gather is you are talking about how cheap the deck is? I mean I already own the mythic walkers that are in it... and I own a good portion of everything else in it. I mostly use eBay and try to bid snipe if I cannot support my local LGS.

Hmm.. if you need backup for Scroll Rack: Isochron Scepter + Brainstorm would work.
Besides that, with the library out, discard outlets like Cephalid Looter or Merfolk Looter would also work and work against your stall-problem.

About some additional card draw, here some ideas:  Endless Atlas, Jalum Tome, Loreseeker's Stone. But with a little research, there should also be some repeatable sorces for card draw in blue. ;)

About your mana base: I don't like Temple of the False God outside of decks with good land ramp. The reason is, that its a dead land drop until turn 5. If you miss land drops, it delays it's use even future.

Thanks for the pointers :) I already have the back up in there of Isochron Scepter as well as the support package of Leng and Loot. I did have a full list of changes and descriptions of what I have changed but it seems like those have been lost to the aether of the internet, c'est la vie I guess.

I just recently added Foil to the Maybe Board as well as Time Stop.

As for the Temple of the False Gods... I do agree with you that it is a dead draw, I could replace that with just an Island.

If you look at the actual deck stats deck and not the forum deck, I have a maybe board with details all showing things I am testing and what I am cutting for it :)

I dig it, I would personally cut the Ixalan stuff just for the preparation of the coming rotation, that way I do not have to worry about it but that is just me I will need to keep an eye on this deck list for my LGS and change my Mardu to Rakdos like I planned.

didn't read the deck list liked it on principal because of the name hahaha 10 / 10

EDIT - 5/27/2019

Removed - 7 Islands, Tezzeret, Artifice Master, Sapphire Medallion, Foundry Inspector, and Karn's Temporal Sundering

Added - Merfolk Looter, Capture of Jingzhou, Frantic Search, Library of Leng, Lonely Sandbar, Remote Isle, Desert of the Mindful, Buried Ruin, Inventors' Fair, Academy Ruins, Scavenger Grounds

Reasons: First of all, this is just a temporary cursory test run.  I removed the islands for some more utility lands, being a mono color deck I feel like it could live a few islands shorter. In return ---

I added 3 Cycle lands: This will allow for instant speed draw, and you could steal a victory from opponents with a Turn spell cast off of Kefnet. CMC for the Cycles are (U) or (1U) or (2).

I added 2 Artifact Recursion Lands: This will allow for more reliability in the aspect of Scroll Rack and Isocron Scepter (as well as Library of Leng).

I added 1 Graveyard Hate: Scavenger Grounds (Or even recursion of an artifact with the use of Karn, The Great Creator 's -2) and with Desert of the Mindful you can technically hit 2 Graveyards.

I added 1 Artifact Search: Inventors' Fair should increase the ability to grab what you need, artifact wise.

I added a Looting Package: This includes the Merfolk Looter, Frantic Search, and Library of Leng; this idea allows a different way to keep the "Turns" going if a piece of the combo from another aspect is removed. How it would work is simple. Leng on board and Looter on board, end step of opponent (or your Upkeep) you tap the looter. Draw a Card then Discard the "Turns Spell", Trigger Leng and put it on top of your Library. Your Draw Step draw the turn spell, Cast the Copy from Kefnet, initiate loop.

I also added Capture of Jingzhou, replacement for KTS, because it is not that expensive for the Judge Promo and it is also 5-CMC (3UU).

Kefnet, The Time-Eternal (Timelord if you will)

Currently this is just a test construction and a first draft of a God-Eternal Kefnet deck, based loosely on the video linked below by the illustrious cEDH TV YT Channel.

https://tinyurl.com/y26ndduq

The idea here is pretty straightforward. You Control the board and manipulate your top deck till you get the mana to start a loop of infinite turns

Now infinite turns, this is a pretty over done one trick pony (But Imma Do It Anyways: Sue ME)

Infinite Turns:
Currently it is achieved like this --> 3 Mana (UU1) Draw a Time Warp or Temporal Manipulation --> Kefnet Triggers [Cast the Copy for 3] --> Scroll Rack back the original Turns Spell [Repeat till desired salt is achieved]

However, infinite turns is a pretty shoddy cop out in my opinion for winning, so I have added a couple accoutrements. Those come in the form of Planeswalkers and things like Talrand, Sky Summoner and friends.

There is always the snazzy draw your whole deck combo with either Jace, Wielder of Mysteries on board or his littler brother Laboratory Maniac

Jaceiac win:
It kind of works like this --> Future Sight down with either Etherium Sculptor or Foundry Inspector out --> Now with Sensei's Divining Top you can draw out your whole deck.

Somethings I already notice that will change, The Scroll Rack is a lynch-pin and it is something that needs to have a backup plan for. Second, I think I need to have a little extra "Draw-Ability" added so that the Infinite Turns do not just stall out if I do not have the answers already on board. Again this is just a First Draft and will be tweaked as I have been doing with all other decks (Feather aside because I am still salty at myself for misreading the rules on 'Heroic' so I will work on that after I have dolled up my Teysa Karlov and Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves Deck)

Either way hope you enjoy, comments tips tricks or ideas, leave them in the comments

EDIT - 5/10/2019

Removed - Ponder

Added - Spark Double

Reasons: There is a lot of Top Deck Manipulation in here already and though Ponder does not hurt it just seemed a little more beneficial to have the Spark Double in the deck to allow for either double activation on a specific walker or the utility to have a copy of some creature you control. With that said, removing ponder was fine because if you need to spark double can become Riverwise Augur which is just an ETB Brainstorm on a stick. In short, the Spark Double is just better versatile utility that not only fills the gap that ponder left on removal but also adds flexibility.

(Not Viable Currently - please see https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Heroic to understand why. In short, the copies will not trigger the Heroic Abilities. Will need to Ponder on this)
XXXGo Wide Tokens: This style in this deck will come mostly from the Heroic Keyword. Akroan Crusader and Vanguard of Brimaz will give you creatures when they are Targeted by a Spell. Zada, Hedron Grinder as well as a couple other cards will make it so all your spells that Target one creature you control will all be hit by a copy of the spell. Finally, Anax and Cymede and Phalanx Leader are examples of the way you can make the Go Wide, hit very hard.XXX
