My friend runs an Arcades deck... bane of my existence. Might I suggest marking him as your commander in the deck list editior

that aside, some nice spell additions would be some battle tricks like Bar the Door and Solidarity nothing like a "Toughness" boost to hit harder when you swing in on your opponents.

High Alert and Teyo, the Shieldmage are some nice additions from war of the spark, as could be Lazotep Plating. Might I also suggest from Dominaria, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive for some nice unblock-ability.

hmmm Meekstone is a realy salty card, but in this deck it just fits like a Keystone.... so it is well worth it.

Reasons: Yeah activated abilities are a little rough if they are flying off the chain, also incrementally free stuff is also nice. BUT that said the fragility of the Scroll Rack combo needed a backup plan, that back up comes in the form of Jace or a Scepter with a Brainstorm on it. I have been mulling over the idea of graveyard exile, this way you can pull back your own S-Rack or I-Scepter with Karn, the Great Creator.

I respect this on the principal that it has Koth of the Hammer in it. That and it is like Red Aggro Mill with Alar of Dementia haha. This is one of those goofy looking but seriously fun Mono color decks that just seem awesome to run. I might have to build it and surprise my play group at the LGS one night since it is Mono Red and out of my Wheel House of Common Decks :P

Yeah I think it is pretty solid as is without skittles haha. I dig it and it looks like it could be fun to play. With all the +1 / +1 counters flying around in it I can see the use of Gyre Sage, I, personally, would try to fit the new Lotus Druid ( Incubation Druid ) but again that is just me and it is not even really needed :)

I have been sitting here, I have decided that I need to make some Very small Changes to my Removal and my Recursion

- Removed Spells ' In Garruk's Wake ' and ' Nature's Lore '
- Removed Creatures ' Yavimaya Sapherd '

+ Added Spells ' Gaze of Granite ' and ' Treasured Find '
+ Added Creatures ' Eternal Witness '

The wake is strong but was not viable till late game, and this deck makes you too big of a target to get off.
The Yavi Sapherd, was okay for a 2 creature 3 drop, however the advantage of bring back a Second Harvest or some Targeted Removal.
Same for Nat. Lore, the Ramp is good but I feel like I have yet to use it much, adding a second form of recursion from my graveyard is good

Also to note, I am debating on removing, Spore Swarm and add Damnation

I respect the Deck and I surely want to make a Mishra deck... my issue with it is that he functions off of Possibility storm which you can have only one of and the ability to remove it from the game permanently is what shies me away from it. I wish there was a card like Magus of Possibility or an Artifact that did something similar. Hell I would even take a planeswalker that did the same thing with an emblem to make Mishara a more viable commander. still amazing though, Keep it up and good luck with it.

This is an interesting take on the Gates Deck, Specially just shooting for Temur and not Altruism.

Seeing that you are in Temur though I do not see a lot of Card Draw, which is okay just my observation. Guild Summit is a good add to the Gates Package

If it was me, I would try to add some more gates, you can still keep it "Temur" and have like the Azorius Guild Gate or the Boros Guild Gate. I just see it being a little difficult trying to capitalize on the Gates Aspect with only 11 of the 24 lands in the land-base being Gates.

I would even look into thinning the Rhythm of the Wild and Simic Ascendancy, maybe to 2 and 1 respectively. You could easily slot the extras into the Sideboard and adjust accordingly :)

With that extra space of three cards you can plop in the Guild Summits for the Draw Advantage?

I would love to see this get a Sideboard to have an idea of where your head is at too :) all in all I think it is a good base and a fun place to start messing around in the Gates Meta :D

I added The "Maybeboard" to the main deck layout, Eventually I might make this a "Second Sideboard" to which you can rotate in and out what seems to work best in your LGS or to the Meta

Let me explain,
First with the movement of Revival // Revenge, Really this was done because I do not have 2 yet so at this point I have added in its place, Consecrate // Consume.

Now the reason I chose Consecrate // Consume is mostly due in part to the Consume portion. It helps eliminate things like Carnage Tyrant or a Hydroid Krasis that is out of control.

Really beyond that there is not much else I can think of to express.

Tomorrow will be some extensive play testing :) I will update with any changes that are expressed.

These changes were made to match my LGS Meta that is running right now, it is pretty heavy in the Sultai Mid-Range and I was stomped in the play testing vs it tonight. I was also flooded pretty heavy with 23 lands so there is the possibility of going all the way down to 22 lands, but that will leave us pretty tight on assimilating the correct colors. Granted most can produce "two types" of mana, Black is out heaviest color in this load out and though it is the highest color produced it is still a worry in the back of my mind.


If you have thoughts feel free to comment I love talking about it, my play-test partner is my LGS manager who was is also a Rank 2 Judge as well as a GP frequenter for my local Cities GP. I greatly appreciate his coaching. Hope everyone is loving the new Meta and enjoying themselves. I will try to keep this as up-to-date with changes and reasons behind it all.
