potential other cards that can trigger life gain in opponents turns: leonin elder, spectrum sentinel, resplendent mentor
celestial force and sun droplet do both trigger each upkeep but seem weak for cost
i guess the celestus and paradise plume might also not be the worst options (at the cost of a slightly more expensive ramp suite)
