I've a vamp deck or two that I'm soon to put on this site. If you get the Vraska planeswalker deck and upgrade it then you'll have some serious flavor and synergy with the build. Honestly I liked attune with aether but if they had increased the mana cost then it probably wouldn't of been a problem. The rampaging ferocidon I can see why they banned it. If they hadn't there would have been SOOO many vampires shut down simply because of this one card.

I have a question, sine some of the planeswalkers were printed as Legendary Creatures, can they be used as commanders even though they flip?

So what you want to do is add some non-lethal wraths to this deck. That way you can continue to deal damage to your own creatures and get effect triggers. Also it's an instant so that works out if you want to play it on your opponent's turn.

I would say to take out the gearhulks and the ballista, drop Hadana's climb down to 2 and then add 3 copies of each. This will drastically lower your mana curve and you'll be able to play more creatures in a turn helping you explore more. Remember, the theme of the deck is EXPLORE, +1/+1 counters will help you win your battles but you have to consistently explore in order for the deck to run as you intend it to.

I have nothing against energy decks, I only ask that because you don't need multiple mechanics running in a deck that are unnecessary. That's like trying to put wings on a spider, what's the point of climbing up walls if it can fly? Also the mechanics work very differently. IF you focused on giving your creatures +1/+1 counters and enraging them as you see fit then you will have a stronger board state. All you'd have to do is get them big, give them trample, maybe some first strike and you're golden.

@HowlingLotus, if you want an example of how I would factor a 3-color EDH deck then I'd happily give you an example;
    This deck is just going to be an example of, not an actual deck that I have built.

100 card deck
34 Lands
Actual deck count = 66 cards
Colors: B/G/U

Step 1- Devotions:
B:(19) + G:(6) + U:(6) = 31 Total Color Devotion over the entire deck.

Step 2 - Percentage of Color Distribution
B 19/31 = 0.612 = 61%
G 6/31 = 0.193 = 19%
U 6/31 = 0.193 = 19%

Step 3 - Land Count & Mana Base
34* 0.612 = 20.8 = 20 Swamps
34* 0.193 = 6.5 = 7 Forests
34* 0.193 = 6.5 = 7 Islands
                            34 Lands

    Once you get your final numbers you will turn the decimals into whole numbers. I want to make sure that the lesser color values in my deck have the amount that they need so when I am rounding numbers I would round the lesser values UP and the greater value DOWN. So I will round the SWAMP count down and the FOREST and ISLAND count up. I did this calculation using only basic lands so as far as the dual lands, tri-color lands and the advanced lands those will have to be tinkered with. But this process can really be done with any deck type so long as you stick to the formula and know where your sources are coming from.

That's fair. Do you have anything against flyers? The Glorybringer is very popular in U/R and Grixis builds when it comes to the standard. But I guess as long as your creatures are hexproof they should be good from it's exalted ability.

But of course it comes down to the deck itself. Low curve decks don't need THAT much mana when running them. Just enough for casting costs and maybe some effects if you have any mana sinks.

Good choice. Playing a lot of explore creatures and getting those triggers will be important. Also emperor's vanguard can be helpful as well.

Wouldn't you want at least two copies of Kumena, tyrant of Orazca? Also I think that it was a good idea for you to add the waker of the wilds. The lands that become unblockable creatures is a good strategy with the herald of secret streams.

The deck isn't bad so far, honestly the scarab god is a pretty good touch to this deck. I'd recommend adding the lurking chupacabra, the wildgrowth walker and the shadowed caravel. They will give you some serious board presence and will gain a lot more counters with your constrictor on the field.

It's no problem, I also have a merfolk deck but it's under changes since the new cards came out. But the metallic mimic WITH the deeproot waters would be a good combo in itself. When you play a merfolk the creature enters with a +1/+1 counter, then the enchantment makes a creature which is hexproof and ALSO enters with a +1/+! counter on it. See how that works? IF you want the mana then it's good to have in the sideboard. But if you want the aggro approach then make the most untouchable creatures that you can.

Then that means the process works then. All I showed you guys was how the simulator calculates your mana values but I did it by hand. So if you'r at a tournament and you need time to balance your decks and your away from your computers this is what you do.

@Soren841, So with all of your devotions that you counted up in your deck what values did you come to when looking at your land counts for your mana base? Did it come close to what you actually have on your deck details when you look at the deck in the simulator?
