I don't know about you all, but the legendary creatures in this set are really going to be something worth brewing with. I'm considering putting Verazol, the split current in my animar, soul of elements deck.  Use animar to stack some counters, declare an absurd number for the "X", create a huge body, copy kicker spells.

I'm glad that the suggestions are helping you out. I'm actually considering running sygg, river cutthroat as the new commander of my wrexial, the risen deep deck. He costs much less, i can focus more on the unblockable creature theme and steal more resources from my enemies using my deep sea nemesis based creatures.

I have a suggestion for you if you'd be willing to try it. Ravos, Soultender is an odd CMC partner that would allow you access to white in this deck making it mardu colors and also still remaining true to your odd cmc restriction. This way you can run cards such as the blessed sanctuary and tajic, legion's edge. This way you can throw the damage around and none of it comes back at you or your board state of creatures. I offer this as an idea if you'd like to attempt to take the deck in a different direction. If not then you could try adding volcanic vision, volcanic fallout and pestilent spirit. This way your burn spells are sure to remove creatures and they can carry double the work.

I've got most of the bulk cards for this but the higher dollar cards are a bit out of my range. If i ever get my hands on all of them then i would definitely be willing to upload a video for everyone to see how it performs. For the time being i'm unable to though.

One idea i have you could try out is running a deep sea creatures deck. Run Gyruda, doom of depths with wrexial the risen deep, and the new Zareth San, the trickster. Wrexial steals spells, Zareth steals permanents so both of them give you free reign over another person's graveyard.  Run sire of stagnation and fathom feeder and you can exile people's decks while gaining card advantage. A way to finish the table is either mass mill like with the new maddening cacophony and put their libraries to zero. make them lose life through discarding like with raiders' wake, liliana's caress and fell specter and kill through damage. If you wanna do the flicker game use the Thassa, deep-dwelling, conjurer's closet, and use hell's caretaker as a means of recursion from your graveyard which is also a way to benefit off those etb triggers. Lastly You could also pull off an alternative win con where you can use Atemsis, All-seeing since it's also a 6-drop (an even CMC). what are your thoughts on this?

Something interesting, the trove warden (is a cat beast from the Naya deck). If you were to break down the deck and put the cat into a re animator package (maybe in a Abzan deck) then you can landfall with the green and/or the white, sac using the black spells and bring it right back to constantly recur that value. I like it!

Roll for Deception!!!

That's good. That means your deck's Command presence is strong enough to put your opponent's on edge. The next step i feel would be to make sure that you can give your creatures hexproof or targeted protection. If you give him hexproof like with swiftfoot boots and then give him hydra's growth then you're putting in the work.

55
Those are some good changes. Also i like the new Akiri because she gives you a form of card advantage AND protection for your creatures.

I'd go with the +1/+1 strategy. Your commander can fight at the cost of losing power. But if you can keep him strong by constantly growing him like with death's presence then you've got a creature that will put in some work.

Though that is true, having an uncounterable counter spell on a stick is strong and can help you sustain some combo plays while pulling off some plays. Just an idea to make the deck do what it does more often.

I have him as my mono-black commander. The deck was originally designed for tinybones, trinket thief but having K'rrik son of yawgmoth as the commander let me play the deck MUCH faster. If you wanna go hard into the life loss you could try running Solemnity with Phyrexian Unlife. Pull of these two enchantments with repay in kind and you could literally zero everyone at the table at once.

Yea the drawback to the card draw is losing a life for each draw but since it's 6 separate triggers you can pick how many cards you draw and life you lose.

The other card that almost had me excited for the deck was Orah, Skyclave Hierophant...then I noticed it said lesser CMC. I wish it said the same or lesser but I guess that could be kinda broken. It probably wouldn't have made the deck due to having a CMC of 4 but it might have been something to play-test. Oh well.

ETA- the original commander of the Apostle deck was Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker but once he was removed a few times it was borderline on if he was worth bringing back. I went to Karador to add Bloodbond March & Edgewalker along with the removal the colors offered. That and being able to cast a creature from the GY each turn when Karador is out is nice at times. Not to mention Karador is pretty much always cast for a reduced cost the way the Apostles feed into the GY.

I know this is a delayed response but if you were to run repay in kind in your deck then you wouldn't have to worry about the life loss as much. Throw a K'rrik, son of yawgmoth into the deck and then the life loss can work to your advantage.
