Well said Warden ! You are more the diplomat than I.
For the aggro vs control... i tend to advocate for the aggro type when dealing with new "casual" players.
It is, at least in the beginning, simpler, cheaper and more fun for both players, IMHO.
Ok utepaanordnes, here is what I would try to do with your cards with as few new purchases as possible.
And by the way these are just some suggestions, I don't know you or how much you are willing to learn.
I don't pretend to have the best answers or ideas, I just like to deck-build and
help.
1-lower mana curve.
Like Warden said " Big costing spells are fine, but you need to have cards that can be used before that. Early game is just as important as late game." Compare your curve and mine. 15 ! 1 or 2 drops VS 4 ! with 15 you ARE part of the early game.
2-Late threats.
Nightmare and
sengir vampire are you're finishers. They both fly,so if your opponent has flyers to block with, make sure you keep a removal spell in hand.
3-Theme of the deck.
Again like Warden asked "What is your deck trying to do? What is the main strategy?"
So the answer for my version is; Early threats, cheap removal of blockers like
Crippling Blight and
Bile Blight. (In regards to
Crippling Blight, I don't care if I don't kill his creature,it can't block me and that's what I want)
Nightmare and
sengir vampire and maybe
Squelching Leeches are you're finishers and so is
Awaken the Bear.
4-A little card advantage can't hurt.
This might be a little too much of a
gamble in a deck with 7 spells of 4 mana or more...but you gotta have some fun a little right ?!
4X
Pain Seer. The way I look at it, I have 13 spells that allow me to attack with
Pain Seer on turn 3.
Awaken the Bear ,
Bile Blight ,
Crippling Blight ,
Mogis's Marauder.
So why not. And i have 4X
Child of Night to mend the pain.
5-Lands
With
Nightmare and
Squelching Leeches you want swamps... hence the few
forest and the
Evolving Wilds.
Rakshasa Deathdealer might be hard to cast on turn 2, i admit it, but hes a cool cat.
Mind Rot is just a left field card that can hurt, i had 2 in the main board but felt better to add a
Bile Blight.
This deck is not much more expensive than your version (if you remove the
bloodsoaked champion for
Tormented Hero, its the same )
So keep good hands, play smart, get to know your deck, keep the pressure on and you will win a few.
