@Baseballknights I don't mean for this to sound aggressive, but my deck came out a year before your lifegain deck did as far as I can tell, and I wasn't aware of its existence until I saw this comment so I definitely didn't copy your deck name. That said, you deck looks sweet and I'm glad I've now seen it.

Commander Discussion / Re: What's your "Pet Deck" in EDH?
« on: May 21, 2019, 12:32:25 am »
I do like to play all of my commander decks equally, but my pet deck would have to be my Mizzix of the Izmagnus spellslinger deck. It was one of my earliest commander decks and it has slowly gotten stronger throughout the years, but it is always a ton of fun.

Revision 4

Thanks for all of your help. I agree completely with all of your suggestions especially the addition of Ruby Medallion because that card is nuts for enabling Reiterate combos. I haven't added any lands yet, but this is the final shell for the non-lands of the deck. If you have any specific land suggestions (I'm definitely playing Kher Keep) that would also be very helpful
Added/removed cards:
-1 Crimson Wisps
-1 Expedite
-1 Fabricate
-1 Fellwar Stone
-1 Mirrorwing Dragon
-1 Reality Scramble
-1 Shadow Rift
-1 Slip Through Space
-1 Soulblade Djinn
-1 Subterranean Tremors
-1 Thousand-Year Storm
-1 Zada, Hedron Grinder
+1 Jori En, Ruin Diver
+1 Ponder
+1 Preordain
+1 Ruby Medallion

Kess Token Storm

I am building a Kess token storm deck, and I currently need to make some final cuts. I am really stuck on what to remove since this isn't a very fleshed out archetype and I really like a lot of the cards in this deck. If you could suggest some cards to cut in order to make it down to about 65 cards that would be really helpful. Since it is a strange archetype for grixis, if you have any cards you really think I should add (Skirk Prospector ?) (Dark Prophecy ?) I would be open to any suggestions as well. If you want an overview of the deck the is one below ;D.

This deck is in an archetype I haven't really seen in grixis. It seems to play out more like a Wort, the Raidmother deck than anythings else. The general plan of the deck is to make a bunch of tokens either from Young Pyromancer effects and playing a bunch of instant and sorcery spells, or from one shot effects like Hordeling Outburst. Kess is a great commander for this deck because she allows those one shot token effects which only generate a few tokens on their own to become two shot effects and therefore much more valuable. Once you have created a bunch of tokens, there are two main plans for winning. The first is the obvious plan of playing something like an Eldrazi Monument and just beating down. The other more fun method of winning involves what I would call the token storm plan. You generally want a couple of Young Pyromancer effects out to amass a small army (get it) of tokens. You then use those tokens for mana by either sacrificing them to cards like Phyrexian Altar, or by casting Battle Hymn. You can then use that maa to cast more spells, which makes more tokens and it just kind of snowballs. Some cards that help the snowball are Zada, Hedron Grinder effects and targeted cantrips (Expedite) which let you draw a card for each creature you control. The endgame involves either generating enough mana to Comet Storm people to death, Making enough tokens with an Impact Tremors in play, or creating an infinite combo. The combos in this deck are The Locust God + Skullclamp + Ashnod's Altar to draw your whole deck then win with Reiterate + Battle Hymn/Mana Geyser to generate infinite mana which wins with the Comet Storm among other things. There are also some wonky Ral, Storm Conduit + copy effects combos. The copy effects are to help the storm kill as well.

This deck looks like it is a sweet elves list. I really like the addition of  Beast Whisperer from the new set. On thing though is that cards like Fracturing gust and Rhys, the Exiled are not legal in your deck because their color identity is outside of your commander's color identity (Fracturing Gust is considered a green white card so it can only be played in commander decks where the commander is both green and white). You could easily replace them with something like Arbor Elf, or Elvish Mystic.

I think you have the right idea for the manabase, you might want to use the lands like Smoldering Marsh or the cycle lands because they make al of your check lands enter untapped.

Thanks for all of the help. I think that some of my last cuts are going to be  Hero's Downfall, Whip of Erebos, Merciless Executioner, Archfiend of Depravity, Patron of the Vein, Animation ModuleBurnished Hart, Sepulchral Primordial and Disciple of Bolas. I'm also swapping Blood Artist in for Zulaport Cutthroat since the artist triggers when opponents creatures die. Soren841, I like your suggestion for mana rocks but I don't have a huge budget. The only reason I can include cards like Demonic Tutor is because I have already traded for a copy. While right away I can't use the suggested cards, I will look out for them as upgrades in the future. If there are any cool lands that fit with Yahenni, it would be very helpful if I could get some suggestions. So far all I know is that I want to run Bojuka Bog as graveyard hate as well as the aforementioned coffers and urborg.

I suggest running Windfall, Jace's Archivist and Dark Deal as well as any other good wheels you have (Maybe Time Reversal ?) and trying to run more affects that work based on mass discard like Geth's Grimoire (if you're feeling really mean Notion Thief) , Megrim and Raider's Wake. If you don't like that style of discard I would still upgrade your counterspells to actual Counterspell, Counterflux, Mystic Confluence or Arcane Denial. I would try to play more cards that say each player/opponent discards a card like Rotting Rats, Delirium Skeins or Neheb, the Worthy so that you don't get blown out by the opponents you aren't targeting. That said, the specter subtheme is really cool so if you want to stick with it that is very flavorful. I would replace Wild-Field Scarecrow with Burnished Hart and/or Solemn Simulacrum. While Metallurgic Summonings is on the No-No's list, it actually isn't bad if you switch to a more spell based version of the deck. You have some artifact deck themed cards like Contraband Kingpin, and I either recommend going pretty all in on that theme by playing a ton of ramp or avoiding it and cutting those cards. I think you should play Gilded Lotus, Sol Ring and all of the signets in your colors anyway, either way.  I would definitely keep Dragon's Hoard, and Creeping Dread of off your maybe list; Izzet Charm is solid too, but the rest could use some changes possibly. I might upgrade your card draw by replacing cards like Foresee with Mystic Confluence,  or Fact or Fiction. You seem to need some more wraths for the deck, and I think Blasphemous Act is a very good option, but the coolest options out there for your deck are Crux of Fate and Hour of Devastation. These cards don't hurt your commander too much, and they are incredibly flavorful. Dark Intimations is a little bit high on the mana cost for its effect, but it very powerful and flavorful in your deck. Sorry for the long rambling comment, but the deck looks very cool and could be very good with a few upgrades. Commander decks are for fun, so if you want to keep any of the cards or strategies I suggest cutting, just do it.

Yahenni Nonland Ideas

I am trying to build a yahenni deck, but I am having trouble making the last cuts. I think it is because I'm attached to some of the cards. Assume the mana base has urborg and coffers when thinking about expedition map. Please comment 8 to 10 cards to cut. Thanks for the help.

Am I crazy here or did someone make this deck once before. Also, I agree that Remand/Dismiss could work better because you automatically win if they don't have another kill spell or a counterspell.

Temmet and The Scarab God would be insane if you could eternalize a double strike creature. Thats 10 unblockable damage a turn.
