Deck Comments / Re: Updated Mono Black Aggro Standard - Comments

Hi, I am also testing and playing mono black aggro. I looked on youtube on your playes. I am interested about Vraska's Contempt and Essence Extraction. I think it is too slow, but I need more removals to my deck other than Walk the Plank and Fatal Push. What is your meaning about those as you test it? Are they good to your deck?

Thinking about adding Bishop of Rebirth.

Some changes, after testing, but it is really good. Mostly against control or non-removal deck.

Deck Reviews / Re: [Standard] Gearhulk Reanimator

Hi,
mardu reanimator is really a good deck to play.
Fom my experience, I think there is better to have 4 copies of red hulk and only 2 copies of white, because the abillity is really main. And you really destroy a lot of permanents only if opponent is playing tokens or lot of small creatures. And that is not likely with a set of huge dinosaurs. But this is really only a little thing.
But the main problem is mana. I would really run minimum 20 lands, better 22, because when you have deck, that is based on 5 or 6 cmc hulks and 7 mana artifact, in later game or when you don't have refurbish or Madcap Experiment, you need to have mana to cast hulks.
But I really like that idea with Leave/Chance.

Hi, good idea, but I would prefer to have exactly one deck tactic and win condition. I Would for example switch Revoke Existence (it's a sideboard card, does it have any better combo use here?) fore something like chaplain's blessing. And add more cards based on gain life like Crested Sunmare.

In combination with herald of secret streams is good idgescale Tusker or Verdurous Gearhulk.
This is the first good deck with use of melforks + counters i found. Thanks for your idea.

How do you plan to win the game? You have there only 4 creatures. And I don't see other win conditions of this deck. But you have good plan for destroy enemy creatures.

Ok. Now I have the main deck complete. let's look on sideboard.
I want to have at least half of the cards 2 times to be efective and to have better chance of drawing it.
Deadlock Trap - good card in energy deck, but it's for 3 mana, that's too much. I prefer not to have it there.
So:
Blazing Volley 2x - against servos, thopters, snakes, insects and more tokens
Take Down 2x - flyings
Manglehorn 2x - against all artifacts (or By Force, I don't know what card is better)
Magma Spray 2x - against Dread Wanderer and Scrapheap Scrounger
Natural State 2x - against artifacts or enchantments, like Stasis Snare
Heroic Intervention 2x - against removals like for example Fumigate
Tireless Tracker 1x - I don't exactly know against what strategy, but it's good against aggro decks, he is just cool
Architect of the Untamed 1x - against decks where you have time to get 6/6
Fatal Push 1x - removal

And I think about making this deck Jund because of Fatal Push, Winding Constrictor and mayby Scrapheap Scrounger. And Glint-Sleeve Siphoner. But finding more black cards...

But what do you think about Invigorated Rampage instead of Highspire Infusion?

Thanks, I agree that Invigorated Rampage is good because it's an instant, but I prefer to have turn four some spells green and some red, so you can have mana of both color. I now that Built to Smash for Highspire Infusion is not good, that is true. But I think that Brute Strength and Highspire Infusion are similar and both good. And I still prefer option to cast green pumper and red Fling.
I don't know, those spells are all good:) I must practise and test this deck...

I think about adding Built to Smash for Highspire Infusion. Is this a good idea? Because Built to Smash gives to Electrostatic Pummeler trample (it's still an artifact creature) and +3/+3 like Highspire Infusion and with lesser CMC, but Highspire Infusion allows you (with one more energy for example from Aether Hub) to activate Pummeler's ability for three times instead of one. It is bad, that if you don't have Larger Than Life and Fling in hand, it must attack and don't have trample. But I think that's low chance. Mayby add Built to Smash instead of Longtusk Cub, 3 times is I think too much.
But now I add Built to Smash to sideboard, because it's for attacking creature, and it can be targeted by for example Immolating Glare, so I want to sacrifise it to Fling rather than attack, if possible. It is true, that I can in reaction for Immolating Glare or other destroyers sacrifise it to Fling, but it's still a little bit tricky.
