General Magic / Re: Tribes you wish to see more support for
« on: May 31, 2020, 11:45:57 pm »
Probably, lords for the "fliers": Birds, Griffins, Sphinxes, Pegasuses and Archons. Archon of Sun's Grace and Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign just aren't enough imho. Griffin Rider is the closest "dependent lord" that I could think of. More fliers lords. Wurms would be great for my "Adventing Wurmageddon", lol, 😆, that's how I name my decks.  We got Gargos, Vicious Watcher for hydras, but I doubt it will happen soon for the powerful wurms.

Edit: Other Tribes are Sea Monsters like Whelming Wave, Quest for Ula's Temple and Serpent of Yawning Depths. Something like "Islandwalk. Trample. Hexproof. Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses and Serpents get Islandwalk and enter with trample or hexproof counter by your choice."

General Magic / Re: Do you like Ikoria's mutate cards?
« on: May 31, 2020, 11:31:33 pm »
Yes, but with moderate affection. From all of them, I liked and bought Sea-Dasher Octopus and Everquill Phoenix, 2 of each. Why only them? Well, I'm all into Tribal mindset as Modern MtG-player and I've good Sea Monster deck and obviously modest phoenix deck. Otherwise, for me this set is bottom-up, more into mechanics "get the opponent to 0", rather than fully flavourful edition although there's some Tribality in it, and that's what made me buy several cards of the set. Ominous Seas, Jubilant Skybonder and Skycat Sovereign are the rest that caught my eyes and I've ordered them. Why, again? I have scry-flying deck with Archons, Sphinxes and Birds, while Ominous Seas, I'll test it again for the same Sea Monsters deck. Since Theros, there hasn't been good Tribal edition and I only look forward to Core Set 2021, with the "expeditions of Zendikar", kidding, as I rarely buy boosters and am more into individual cards, that help me "circle" out my casual felt Tribal combinations. Concluding that, to get back on the subject, I only support those top-down flavourful cards that are in Tribality, and I don't have any other cards, beside the Sea-Dasher Octopus and the Everquill Phoenix, as obvious choices for my casual Modern combinations. Kuddos, to all, I hope to get more upvotes, even make new friends around, and would love to see a comment/recommendation for them. I'm not shy or fearful of negativity, just that I don't operate with the most expensive cards, the Tribality and casualty of my decks are enjoyable enough to ensure their testing at FNMs. Next week, the club is opening again for players and visitors, so I'm glad and ready with my "Ula Kiorthassiya", lol.😎

I propose Emmara Tandris. I put it in my "Pheres Centaur Pagony" deck. It's all into tokens, but it has Pheres-Band Warchief to give "lordship". I suggest it to you, but I realise your deck is not into Green, but hell: you can still include her as alternative in another deck. It's "peasantly" cheap and would be nice not only for your deck, but every deck (like mine) that relies on tokens in that range of colour.

Deck Reviews / Re: [Casual] Mono White Angel Deck
« on: May 23, 2020, 10:24:42 am »
Yes. Definitely more lands. You have cmc >6 so 23 lands at least for a deck as yours. I sport Angels, albeit Red-White Firemane with Gisela and Aurelia, but more lands, definitely. Otherwise, nice variation and prison with the artifact angel. Regards, Chavdar

General Magic / Re: What is your favorite piece of MTG art?
« on: May 16, 2020, 05:50:41 pm »
The Ur-Dragon for me is probably the best. The flowering of so many colours is absolutely perfect.

The most expensive is certainly Sarkhan Vol and Avacyn, Angel of Hope. I paid for the Vol $12,50 and $10 for Avacyn. Now with lack of work, COVID-19 pandemic and no professional bachelor degrees in Bulgaria and Romania and Eastern Europe as whole, I wouldn't crack out more than €5. The currency difference is due to the fact that I bought them from Channel Fireball, but as of 4-5 years I'm mostly on Card Market.EU. I'd give €5 on Aura Shards, but not more.

Deck Comments / Re: Armed Kor Allies - Comments
« on: May 02, 2020, 07:46:00 pm »
Actually ezqimo, I tested it and in fact the lands were missing. Otherwise it's cool. Probably would go to 21 lands, as cms is not more than 5 and yeah: more Allies. I have good bulk of left over cards. I have to think more on it. I ordered it several times on Card Market and un-registered package got lost in translation, somewhere. Finally the third order last year came about and it's cool deck. Maybe another Dispatch or Galvanic Blast? Otherwise, there aren't many options when it's mix of Worldwake and Battle. Thank you, ezqimo for the voucher.

ezqimo, I don't want to enter heating, but you can also include Liege of the Tangle.

Quest for Ula's Temple? I have Modern Sea Monster deck, but this looks nice, however the Enchantment would work for you as well, though EDH.

Deck Reviews / [Modern] Boros Angel Battalion
« on: April 12, 2020, 07:28:09 pm »
https://deckstats.net/decks/9282/44061-boros-angel-batallion/
An Angel deck with obvious Batallion and Aurelia mark, that is from Avacyn and Ravnica. The only complaint is that there are not many good 3-mana angels (apart from Angel of Vitality) so on 3rd round usually have to put Segovian Angel. It is a bit cheaper since I put the cards 3 or 4 years ago. Although a bit slower, I am not cutting from the deck at all. Lyra Dawnbringer a mustwish from Dominaria, I sucessfully bought it by a local friendly boy in Bulgaria, who was selling cards. Amazing hit and very happy to have gotten it so cheap. It's as of latest with Core Set 2020. Serra the Benevolent is in process to be found, it's around 5€, but Archangel of Thune is in a "dream list" in years. Basically, I consider her "Skirmisher" as Tribal flavour and art, but she is very expensive going around thrice as much: 15€ in Card Market and I hope to find it cardinally eventually speaking of year 2020 as this deck is 7 years old and this Skirmisher Batallion fine deck needs such fine Angel card with great stats otherwise. Thanks for the stars. Give another or take a look at my other decks.
Kind regards,
Chavdar

Well, there are things for me as Tribal casual player. Everquill Phoenix, Jubilant Skybonder, Skycat Sovereign, Skull Prophet and last but not least, Ominous Seas. I have a ready phoenix deck which is one of the cheapest of mine. I've made a want list of the things, I want, but considering the COVID-19 pandemic, it'll be a good month or two before I order them. Another problem is that I closed my bank account after the debit card expired, back last year and it'll be another good year, before I order on my own. I count on other friends and colleagues-players, who have an account. The good thing is that my wishes aren't more than 15€, with including shipping cost. I don't wanna advertise my decks, but I'd love to see more people give recommendation, comments, or probably even an upvote them if one's like them.

@ezqimo: give an ice cream voucher for me, bro!😝 Kidding!
@IgorYannick: you are also fantastic Tribalist, friend!

Otherwise, I'd love to get these cards, but I need someone, best a friend to order them. Unfortunately, this pandemic the past orders made them coming very late. Few things from THB, like Serpent of Yawning Depths, with my friends that co-op in ordering, are still waiting for this order and it's again: good month, brother. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing Core Set 2021 as I'm only into Tribal. Once again: come visit my deck list if you want to, I hope not to receive bad karma and people even to buy a deck or decks of mine as I play only casual Tribality in Modern mindset, and would be fantastic honour to satisfy great players as you.
Kind regards stay safe and healthy,
Chavdar

Commander Discussion / Re: Appropriate number of lands
« on: March 29, 2020, 05:42:53 pm »
I have Adaptive Enchantment, that was received by my friends as a Birthday present last year, 2019, when I turned 33. It had 39 lands, it's not yet tested, I must admit, but I decided to get rid off cards with cmc >6, and circled the land base to 35. The same I did for The Ur Dragon deck, that I built scrutinizely throughout the past several years. I put 35 lands, but the last deck was built from scratch, while Adaptive Enchantment is preconstructed, however I entirely changed the lands in it and tried nonetheless to preserve the core of the deck as I received it as present. I am not the biggest EDH expert, others should be more experienced, but in those 2 EDHs I own: 35 seems enough.

General Magic / Re: Are Oathbreaker or Brawl still being played?
« on: March 23, 2020, 01:21:34 am »
Actually, I never have played both formats. At Bulgaria, there's COVID-19 pandemic, actually it's everywhere, I think, clubs are closed and heretofore, I have been only on FNMs, playing Modern, that as Tribal player is my favourite format and which is more popular than Brawl. Again: EDH is way more played than Oathbreaker, but I've been only to several matches, as I've only 2 EDH decks and Adaptive Enchantment is just my second one. About the digital version of the game? Sorry, but I never bothered to get info it. I find it vastly inferior due to the social interaction and perceived (by me at least) lack of integration of the physical medium in the digital counterpart. I haven't even ever registered in it and I highly doubt I'll ever will.
Kind regards,
Painbearer

Great deck, but why not opening a place or two for the legend lord: Gargos, Vicious Watcher?

General Magic / Re: For those that have been here for a long time...

Mine is actually Scryfall. I think I just googled for good deckbuilders and saw the stats on this site were easily readable and intuitive. I still don't quite get the editor or stats on Tappedout. To me it's really confusing so I will continue using Deckstats. Also found a nice little community here - <3.
I think, yes, the activity has risen for sure. I've been here almost 7 years, and it's my favourte deckbuilding site. It has the best and most well-structured foundation than TappedOut and MTGGoldfish. Contrary to MustaKotka? I don't get on TappedOut the same kind of appreciation as I do here, but both are fantastic deckbuilding sites, albeit DeckStats for me is the best.

Chavdar
