This is my first Primer for my The Ur-Dragon EDH deck, combined with Defenders, "Dragon Phalanx" and Bolster, designed for casual EDH play. I wanted to make it fun, original and interesting to other people. I am open to suggestions and criticism in order to make this Primer better.

Preeminent Captain can do good too. You'll put your Soldiers straight from the hand tapped and attacking.

You can also consider Smokebraider as fixer, Flamekin Bladewhirl as "always-1 drop", Nova Chaser as "champion Elemental", Brighthearth Banneret, Creeping Trailblazer, Thicket Crasher and Overgrowth Elemental as lords. Omnath, Locus of Rage is also good lord. If you go Temur you can use Supreme Exemplar, Omnath, Locus of the Roil and Risen Reef. I have Temur Elemental deck, but it's still in project stage and it goes even with Chandra, Novice Pyromancer, Zendikar's Roil and Eyes of the Wisent. It's your deck and your call.

You can also put Primal Beyond as primary fixer for Elementals. I know its price is heavy, but probably the budget won't be constriction.

Billzabub, you have great nickname of big Devil. I didn't downvote you, but I'm not familiar with the Historic format. I make Tribal decks and they're all Modern. My EDH decks are only within a specific release as Adaptive Enchantment and Tyranid Swarm. I love the oversized cards. Even the preconstructed decks as The Ur-Dragon and Marath, Will of the Wild are with the big cards, but again: within the special thematic of Dragons and Beasts. Don't get too disappointed about the downvotes: it happens, people sometimes aren't in the best of mood. I gave you upvote just to cheer you up and I'll offer you a friendship and will give some stars to your decks, Devil-friend.

I have never ever built an EDH deck outside of specific release. I love the oversized cards. I look forward on getting Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. I also never have ever built Modern deck outside of specific Tribe. I will build more decks, but always with a Tribal mindset.

36. Started playing around Scourge in 2002. My Dragon deck was stolen by masonry workers. In 2011 got hooked back on Duel Decks: Knights vs Dragons and have been playing since. Or constructing decks at least.

Consecrated Sphinx? Good card draw. Other sphinxes like Sphinx of Magosi and Prognostic Sphinx can do the job. Nice deck. Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign is a cheap probable addition. Mu Yanling, Celestial Wind can also be considered.

EDIT: Sorry, I just saw that you have Prognostic Sphinx. Still, Consecrated Sphinx can be good addition.
