PlainsFirst note, This deck was missing some reliable card draw. Its a typical Boros problem, but one that needs some addressing. We already had a few cards in the deck between
Wheel of Fortune and
Mangara, the Diplomat, but it clearly wasnt enough.
Alms Collector gives us some counter play against green and blue decks that draw big while netting us cards in the process.
The Immortal Sun gives us a handful of boons, most importantly shutting down planeswalkers and drawing us extra cards.
Sword of the Animist isn't strictly card draw, but it does help us get the 16 basics out of our deck. Less lands in deck gives us more action when we draw.
Normally I swear by 36 lands in deck, but admittedly this deck has a far lower average CMC compared to what I'm used to playing. So given that I have around 14 cards that all help with ramping or fixing I've decided to try a lower land count.I may drop a few non-basics for more mountains in the future, but more on that later.
ultimately, more fat has been trimmed, non-bo's removed, and some new sweet tech added. More testing is required but it looks like an online group might be available now.
