What cards are you going to cut out in order to add your Maybeboard into?

Naya is Green, Red, and White. This deck (Blue, White, Black) is "Esper."

This deck doesn't work, because it does not follow the color identity matchup rule. Your commander is mono-white, and you have cards that have color identities (red, black, green, white/black, and white/red) which do not match that color identity. All 99 cards in your deck must therefore be either mono-white or colorless.

Deck Reviews / Re: W/G Lifegain Deck

Honestly, I think you should focus on making this a mono-white deck. The majority of the creatures and spells you have here are white, and the green ones don't seem to be helping you all that much. Your logic is correct in how the green and white would work together, but you are better off just cutting the green entirely. One thing that's important to remember is that each color, or each combination of colors, has specific attributes about them, and if you want a specific type of deck, look for the colors that fit that attribute. White focuses a lot on flying and lifelink, while green focuses a lot on things like trample and reach. Thanks to the Ravnica expansions, green/white has its own attributes, which would be token population. But since you want a lifegain deck, mono-white is the best answer for that.

Now all you have to do is look at the cards you really think are important and add more of those, while cutting out the pointless ones entirely. You only have a lot of singles, which reduces the probability of actually getting that card in the deck. Cutting out green would make this step easier, so now all you would have to do is prioritize white.

I hope this helps!

From my understanding of the game, all decks used for standard play must have a minimum of 60 cards in it. There can be more than 60 cards, but adding more than that will statistically lower the chances of drawing cards you want [as proven by the probabilities mechanic on this website,] so it is said that the best thing you can do for yourself is to keep your card count at exactly 60 and make the deck up out of only cards that you really want in it, so that you have the same odds as everyone else and can play competitively. The only exception is a playstyle called Limited, which reduces the minimum deck size to 40 cards.

Now, if this deck were on here as a wishlist [these are the cards I want to buy,] a price check [I want to see how much this single card costs,] or an EDH deck [look up EDH/Commander rules,] then that makes sense, although EDH decks are exactly 100 cards [against the rules to have more or less,] and can only contain one copy of a single card, with the obvious exception being basic lands.

Cheers!

Deck Reviews / Re: Pyromancer Turn 2 kill !?

The deck works in theory [there are no rule violations and everything you're saying is true,] but this requires an island, the paradise mantle, and the blistercoil weird in your opening hand, and by turn 2, another land, card draw spells, and the storm in your hand. The probability of that is actually very low [and is further supported by this hardly being the case in the "starter hand" button,] making this deck rather unreliable. Nice concept, but it just doesn't seem to work out.

Sorry, but I don't think this is the right deck. It's mono-Red, not Blue/Black, there are no ninja cards in it, and it costs well over $400. About the total price of five of my decks combined make up the cost of this deck. Hardly pauper material at all. Not that this is a bad deck, but the name is a lie, and you might want to check that out. Shame, too, because I actually want to see a low-cost, dual-colored ninja deck.

Deck Reviews / Snow Deck Review Request
« on: July 26, 2013, 03:38:22 am »
Would someone be willing to review this snow deck I made?

Originally, this was just curiosity getting the best of me, since I saw a Snow-Covered Mountain in a local game shop, and, since I usually associate Mountains with fire, lightning, Goblins, volcanoes, and stuff like that, I was intrigued to say the least. So after doing some research, I found out about the snow mechanic, and decided to build a deck based around it, since there was only one other snow deck on here that I could find. What I ended up with was a 4-color deck [which my friends think is weird, because they noted that my comfort zone is no more than two colors, and they are right about that,] which focuses on a 1:1 mana distribution-to-cost ratio so that I can actually play the deck, as well as creatures and spells which take advantage of the snow mechanic.

Although this deck is technically legal for modern, I don't think it would hold its own in a full-fledged tournament, and don't plan on entering any tournaments any time soon. I just want to see what other people think of this deck, since my friends and I don't really know enough about snow to make a proper judgement as to whether or not it can hold its own as a basic deck in casual play. All suggestions, comments, and criticisms are welcome [though I would prefer them to be positive or constructive, so I know as to whether or not this is a deck worth putting time into fine-tuning.]

Suggested idea [new total after idea]

Add 2 more Akroma's Memorial [70]
Add 1 more Assemble the Legion [71]
Add 1 more Gleam of Battle [72]
Get rid of all Martial Glory [69]
Get rid of all Mizzium Mortars [67]
Get rid of all Legion Loyalist [63]
Get rid of 1 Aurelia, the Warleader [62]
Get rid of all Spark Tropper [60]

A lot of the creature cards you had give you everything that Akroma's Memorial gives you, making the creature's effects redundant, and thereby essentially giving you high mana cost creatures with low power and toughness. If you can make the deck so that it focuses on enough mana ramp to get your creatures onto the battlefield, ultimately leading up to giving them all the effects of the Memorial, you essentially have a battlefield of legendary creatures at your disposal.

I know you want to go for low budget, but for a couple more dollars or so, you could exchange Unflinching Courage for Armadillo Cloak. The difference is that AC says that you gain the life, meaning you could attach it to an opponent's creature and essentially make that creature have 0 power [though toughness is increased, so it is still a VERY viable blocker.]

And for what it's worth, since your deck is 35% enchantment, I would look into the "enchantress cards." They're all either green or white, so they go good with your deck, and most of them are low mana cost, low budget [I think], and allow for extra drawing capabilities, or, in the case of Yavimaya, add A MASSIVE power and toughness boost to her.

Or, if that link doesn't work for you, their names are:
Argothian Enchantress
Femeref Enchantress
Mesa Enchantress
Verduran Enchantress
Yavimaya Enchantress

If I were you, I would consider taking out 4 of the forests and putting in 4 Llanowar Elves. They're the same as Elvish Mystics, so you basically have 8 of those cards, which count as both mana and creatures. It adds a little more stomping power to your deck without sacrificing any mana capabilities.

This is a neat deck, but is the Sol Ring really necessary? Replacing those cards is the difference between a $170+ deck and a ~$30 deck.

I didn't know that. My bad. I'll change it, since this deck is still a work in progress anyways.
