I second the "only HTTPS" suggestion!

About Deckstats / Re: Beta-Test: Your Collection
« on: July 14, 2015, 05:31:38 pm »
I feel like the next step here should be allowing you:

a) to choose what edition you have of each card, even multiples.. so I might add to my location 4 lightning bolts, each from a different set (possibly also specify language for the card, using english as default if not specified)

b) when looking at your saved decks, have some marker showing which cards you own fully, which you own partially and which you are missing fully from a decklist (this option might be triggerable to turn it on/off as needed)

something like this:

(extract from a decklist - collection checking disabled, so as current)
4   Dragon Fodder
4   Goblin Grenade
4   Magma Jet

(collection checking ENABLED)
3   Dragon Fodder (I have fewer than 3 needed)
4   Goblin Grenade (I don't have any)
2   Magma Jet (I have all 2 needed)

Deckstats Feedback / New format - Tiny Leaders?
« on: January 19, 2015, 07:19:11 pm »
Given the recent uprising and apparent popularity of Tiny Leaders commander, I think it would be nice to add a format flag to tag decks on that format; not many sites if any have done that yet probably, it's nice to be the first!

Deckstats Feedback / Re: We need a APP
« on: October 10, 2014, 05:46:25 pm »
I guess he's saying an Android / IOS app, right ?

A mobile app where you can log in and see / update / create decks into your web account sounds awesome. It would definitely be awesome and take this to a whole new level. I do foresee it causing a sharp drop in the site's traffic, and I wouldn't see with bad eyes having some sort of premium or subscription version to cover the expenses of the site & mobile development.

Definitely a cool feature! I'm not particularly a frequent MTGO player, but I'd like seeing greating integration for them (like being able to tag decks as 'MTGO-metagame' focused, and/or being able to export decklists in a ready-to-import format for MTGO, thought I don't recall if MTGO used some proprietary format for deck files)

Kudos for the frequent updates and constant effort!

Deckstats Feedback / Re: [Suggestion] Future-standart search

This is actually quite handy; maybe disable the button when there are no available spoilers?

Tooltip's looking good. I would need to recieve a message first to see the red box, i guess :P

8
Works like a charm! just for reference, I'd add the hover tooltip "Your Saved Decks" when you leave the mouse arrow over your user name, just like the gear has the tooltip "Your Settings" and the arrow has the "User Menu".

Seems like a solid move, at least for me the decks folder is a priority link; from the options still under the user menu, i'd just consider important "Your Messages", so long as you could implement some sort of active icon showing either the # of new messages or at least a ! when there are new messages. I particularly don't have messages regularly, but I'd expect other people do use the message functionality more actively :P

It'd be more comfy, definitely!

Nevermind, I've just opened deckstats from another PC and noticed there's an advertisement there; AdBlock blocked it in such a perfect way I didn't notice there was something there.

And I won't argue in favor of removing the ad, those badboys keep these sites alive, even when ogres like me AdBlock them :P

Hello!

It has always troubled that the user-specific options are "hidden" on the login name button; being a click away is not really hideous, but I think it'd make a more intuitive interface to have those options available at first sight.

I've drafted a quick sample image, please don't consider it the definite proposal but only a sample to show the idea

*icons used are from Metro UI Dock by Yankoa*

The idea would be to have icons, labels or both (my preference is icons with hover-texts) to all current options hidden on the user-button; this is:
-saved decks
-forum profile
-settings
-messages
-logout

When not logged in, all these icons could be hidden except for the logout button, replaced with the login button.
That way, the extra space after the site's name & icon can be seized for a purposeful use.

Deckstats Feedback / Re: Format Association
« on: August 14, 2014, 07:38:32 pm »
Maybe you could make different format tags hereafter? Say, when I save a deck as Standard now, backend it saves as "standard-ths", when Khans of Tarkir goes out, all Standard decks on the database are updated to "Standard-Theros" (which comprises all cards available in standard until the last day, this is M14-RTR-THS-M15), and the new Standard is only the new current cardsets. (M15+KTK).

Whenever ktk2 and ktk3 are out, they are simply added to current standard. When the next block starts and rotates out Theros Block & M15, you update all standard decks to "Standard-Khans" and so on and so forth.

PROs:
-Standard searches will look only for current standard, preventing year-old, non-representative "Standard" decks.
-Previous Standard formats are adequately represented and not just moved to Extended or Modern, where they are probably not representative nor playable on the metagame.

CONs:
-Needs some database-side processing whenever Standard rotates on all Standard decks. This might be quite resource-consuming depending on the hardware currently available, and would probably need to manual action from @error unless he somehow automates this.
-With time, it creates a never-ending number of "formats" with old standards. Though at a rate of 1 per year, so it shouldn't be much of a problem performance-wise.

Need to see a complete sideboard, though I imagine Dark Betrayal, Duress; maybe some Bile Blight and/or Drown in Sorrow maindeck? Stormbreath Dragon? I'd need to test Master of Cruelties to see how likely it is as a wincon; otherwise this looks solid.

Fabled Hero does not work on a deck like this.. it needs further ways to protect it from both targeted removal & sweapers like Supreme Verdict.
Consider changing it with 1 more Spear of Heliod and some copies of Ajani, Caller of the Pride.

Also, I thought think Mutavaults are away from any budget deck :P but if you can afford them, consider using 2/3 mutavaults, 4 Temple of Triumph & 4 Sacred Foundry and playing Boros Charm instead of Gods Willing.
