Lantern Control is fantastic! Watch this match and i am sure you will change your mind :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lau6uQ4_R0s

Furthermore i think it will find its way in Legacy specially including the land control combo of Wasteland + Mox Diamond + Crucible of Worlds

I hope you get the picture ;)

Hello again :)

Sorry for the late reply but i haven't checked the forum for about a year.

One of my favourite combos playing legacy is the combination of Crucible of Worlds + Mox Diamond + Wasteland.

It makes you get fast mana in the early game. Then later you will Wasteland all your opponents none basic lands :)

It works really good with the Platinum Angel + Lightning Greaves combo to control the late game :)

Take care :P

Hey;) Have you considered using Whipflare instead of Pyroblast? Furthermore adding U would be a good idea. Trash for Treasure + Thirst for Knowlegde would be great in this deck. And not to forget Master of Etherium :) If you need new ideas, check out my deck at http://deckstats.net/decks/2749/133284-tezzeret-grixis-control/en

General Magic / Re: Challenge: The best answer to multiple decks

I have to build a deck that will compete with multiple decks and I am looking for your input. The tournament is single elimination, Vintage Rules. Here are the decks I assume I'll face based on the players I know.

B/G infect
RUG Slivers
B/R Land Destruction
B/U Mill
Mono Red Goblins

I am leaning towards Mono Blue/Artifacts, control focused. Early drops will be counters and blockers with big finishers. There is no side board since it's single elimination. I'm open to your suggestions?

Check out this deck. It has everything your are looking for;)

Deck Reviews / [Legacy] Tezzeret Grixis Control

Tezzeret Grixis Control

Hey all visitors.

I made this deck as a result of the power i saw in Tezzeret from first glimpse. He is simply unbelievable tough against any matchup.
So my plan became to create a deck with a perfect synergy that could challenge any possible matchup.
I have tested various versions of the deck for around 20 months and i am getting close to the final decklist.
In this description i will take you through the basic plays and combos.

Elixir of Immortality; is a powerful turn 1 drop in this deck. It increases your chances for early Metalcraft and Affinity. Further more it is a great weapon against Deathrite Shaman, Tarmogoyf or Reanimate decks. To control your own life balance is the most important factor in most matchups, but sacrifice it only if you have no other options, the 5 life can result in surviving extra turns to resolve Platinum Angel or the ultimate of Tezzeret.
+ Galvanic Blast, Force of Will, Thoughtcast or Whipflare - Makes it possible to recycle your Instants and Sorceries in the late game.

Lightning Greaves; is a great alternative to Baleful Strix as a turn 2 drop. It amplifies you Metalcraft and Affinity while being a shield for your creatures.
Especially in the late game combining it with Platinum Angel it will make many opponents concede since you at that time has so many other treats.
+ Platinum Angel - Monster combo.

Baleful Strix; will usually only be used to defend Tezzeret from large creatures or to hit Planeswalkers with +5 loyalty counters. Furthermore it generates a oppotunity to draw extra cards during the early game or in late game by reincarnate it with help from Academy Ruins.
+ Tezzeret - Deathtouch defense.
+ Academy Ruins - Reincarnate your bird to draw extra cards.

Crucible of Worlds; is a great weapon against any deck playing nonbasic lands.
If you do not have Master of Etherium in hand, Crucible of World can be as powerful, together with Mox Diamond it makes it possible to get mana advantage by letting you cast your lands discarded with Mox Diamond, specially your Wastelands over and over.
+ Wasteland - Eternal casts of your Wastelands.
+ Mox Diamond - Land advantage.

Master of Etherium; is such a big treat in this deck that it usually end up as the main focus of your opponent. In reality it is only a decoy to buy you time for the ultimate ability of Tezzeret.
+ Wurmcoil Engine - will make your opponent go for your Master instead of leaving more Artifacts on the battlefield. This results in 1-2 turns of lifegain.

Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas; is the key stone of the deck. Making it possible to fish through your deck for the Artifacts you need. You almost never need to use his -1 ability, but it can be necessary in some situations. Using it on your lands is most beneficient since you can play them again with Crucible of Worlds.
The ultimate ability is so powerful, and if you get Tezzeret on the battlefield on turn 3 or 4, a win on turn 5 is very likely.

I hope this short description was useful for the basic conception of the ideas of the deck. Please share any questions, comments or ideas.

Pash

Great deck, i will try this for sure;) But i would go for +2 Abrupt Decay instead of Stifle. Stifle seems a bit wrong while playing with Shardless Agent. Otherwise i think you should play with Snapcaster Mage instead. If you choose Snapcaster Mage you should take Glimpse of the Unthinkable into your consideration which works brilliant with Tarmogoyf, Nible Mongoose, Deathrite Shaman and Scavenging Ooze ;)
