Im fairly new to MTG, and i though EDH would be the easiest place to start.

Cool, Im working on a graveyard deck for EDH with karador as commander.  I think if i had the money to build a deck for standard and modern it would be something like you have going here.

Your card look a lot like almost all the cards i got in my Abzan starter deck. and i see you have some good cards in there. But when building a deck for standard, you want the deck to play consistantly so you want to have more doubles tripples and even 4 of some of the same good cards, so they are always going to come up for you to play. A great card to get four of for an Abzan theamed deck is Seige Rhino. ($5 each). Now you could make the deck simplier and just make it black and white if your not going to include any green cards that are game changers.

I am also fairly new to MTG, but id have to say that having only two cards that requires a green is not worth it.
