Hehe, yeah, it does look like it.  But I've been iterating on this shell for almost 18 months, and 13 lands is greedy but worked awesome for me so far.  (Although I really thought I had 14, but realized I'd been playing 13 for a few weeks, so I kept at it).

You'd been surprised how many mana flood I encounter when trying to go off.

But yeah, opening hands are tricky, and the deck doesn't mulligan well.  It's just that the ceiling is very very high...  Played well at GP Dallas this weekend.

I need to update the deck description to explain this.  Thanks for the feedback!!

Pure Erayo Mentorship (combo)

4 angles of attacks: Mentors, grapeshot, erayo, Myth realized.  Use one as bait, win with the other one.  Mentors and Grapeshot are my usual way of winning.  Erayo is just there to attrack the hate... and it works.

Capable of Turn 2 kills through Grapeshot.  Often a turn 4 kill through Mentor.

I saw the original Puresteel Paladin decks, but never built anything until I thought of Erayo...  Oh is she good, the fear she brings to the opponents.  She makes the deck gel.  Now, all I want is find some place for Hurkyl's Recall, and maybe some suggestions on the manabase.

Note1: if i had 4 mox opals, they would all be in.
Note2: Muddle the mixture is rarely useful, but just in case.
Note3: Retract is awesome.  I would play 8.  Thus the Hurkyl's recall that should come in somewhere.
Note4: Serum Visions is an easy card to cut.  I never thought I would say that in a blue deck.
Note5: Island is a pain.  Just there to respect Blood Moon and Paths...

When you say "low cost creatures", you mean $$$, right?  Otherewise I see too many 5cmc creatures in there for only 20 islands.  You'll end up with many frustrations (I think) because rarely will you play your creatures when you need/want to.  I'd try 23, I think.  Then add two X spells to draw more (and sink your mana WHEN you finally get to have too much of it).  Blue Sun Zenith, Braingeyser and the like would fit well.

All cluttered on the 3 and 4.  That means you'll never do more than 1 spell per turn (and only your turn) for 7-8 turns.  That's an aggro that only start running in the midgame.
I must be fun to play, I'm sure.  I love thopters as much as anybody  :).  But unless the opponent stumble, you'll be playing catchup.

(IMO, take with a grain of salt, I don't play Standard, just read/listen about it)

By my experience, the only way a mill deck can work in Modern (Legacy??) is by being focused.  Very very focused.  There are many ways to win with mill.  Having creatures that benefit is a way, Phenax is another, make them lose life is another....  But mill is weak, you cannot dilute it by having all of them.

1) you have many X spells, but little ramp.  Thrust me you'll be dead before being able to do anything.
2) gruul draz vampire serves no purpose
3) the Cloack has very little to protect
...

Unless your creatures make them mill - a lot -, skip them.  Focus on board control/wipe + one strategy (ramp, phenax+walls, etc...)

23 lands.  Probablement 1 de trop, puisque tu as plusieurs façon de piger des cartes.  Et Den's protector peut ramener des fetch.

Très peu de blanc, Beaucoup de vert.  Et du noir.  Et surtout: possible de n'avoir que du vert pour 2-3 tour snas être bloqué.
J'aurais trouvé une façon d'éliminer le noir, mais drana semble Broken, et tant qu'à l'avoir acheté, il faut la jouer.
Je crois beaucopu en Disregard et un peu le Command. Le plan est d'ouvrir la voie, et tapper.  Le Charm est surtout bonpour son mode de pigeage dans les premiers tours.


Moi j'essaierais ça au FNM  Et dépendant des expérience, tweakerait les cartes "Reste".  Mais je crois beaucoup dans le modèle de destruction des 3 premiers tours.
Ton sideboard, c'est correct pour expérimenter au FNM, mais je chercherais plus des cartes anti-stratégies et non des créatures pour le GP.

En fait, je crois que dans le sideboard je mettrais 4 complete disregard.  Pour tuer tous Protector, Jace, Walkers, Raptors...  Le cochoneeries pénibles à gérer.  En fait, soit tu leur fait une place dans ton Main, et les remplace par des Ruinous Path s'il y a plein de Planeswalker, soit...  ...  ... l'inverse?

J'aime bien le Servant. Ça pis hardened scale confirme qu'il te faut une foret untapped comme premier land.
Je considérerais changer la manabase pour ajouter le Fetch vert-rouge.  Au moins un de ça, et une Citadel de moins.
T'as pas beaucoup de sources de blanc.  Mais je sais pas trop comment en rajouter.

Pour moi, le Charm est ton sort le plus puissant.  Je ne l'enlèverais pas pour Ruinous Path.  J'aurais ptet enlevé un Dromoka's command.
Et les Den's protector, il me semble torcheux.  J'ai de la misière à imaginer en jouer moins que quatre.
Siege Rhino contre le rouge, t'es déjà mort.  T'as pas quelque chose pour bloquer les +6/+6 suivi du sort de Double Strike, genre donner protection aux créatures de l'autre joueur?  :)

J'ajouterais une basic Plains.
Le undergrowth champion et le ruinous path devraient être dans le deck de base.
Contre qui va tu ajouter les siege Rhinos?  Pour moi, ils devraient toujours être dans le deck, dans ces couleurs là.
Il manque de 1 drop, non?  Avatar devrait être compté comme un 3drop, et le hangar comme un 4, je suppose.

J'aime bien les hardened scale, je dois dire.  Surtout avec le Hangar.
