Yeah no joke on Stormtamer prices. This or Mono-Blue is still one of the most budget things you can do though.

P0GONiP the Alterations are for unbeatable creatures like Ghalta, Lyra, Tempest Djinn, or even Steel Leaf. Sometimes you will copy their big guy but have +1/+1 counters on your creature already or Curious Obsession, so yours is better. Not so good against decks with removal though. They were a bit of a meta call when I thought Stompy would be huge but they could be sideboarded now that the meta has developed away from Stompy.

Anotheruser, I would consider up to 2 Freebooter main, perhaps trim a Thief and a Spybug, or shift them main instead of the Alterations. And definitely bring in the playset against control or against midrange that has removal noncreature spells. It is very good but the removal density in control decks is very high right now, expect to be staring at Cast Down and Moment of Craving and having no good picks.

Ritual of Soot also clowns this deck if you don't have a counterspell so, have a counterspell.

Not at all, and cutting to 2 might be in the cards. Mostly it's to boost Spybug, Thief, and Hostage Taker. Taking Hostage Taker out of Lightning Strike range in particular. I'm still working on a creature base that takes proper advantage of Forum, if it isn't there I'll probably cut down to basics.

Still fiddling with the right numbers, xd300. Thopter Arrest could definitely go side, at one time I did have 4 Landing main, 4 Pride of Conquerors is necessary though. If anything I'd want more burn, Wizard's Lightning can be cast for free off of Sram's Expertise and does a quarter of a player's life total with Guttersnipe. Seal Away usable but lacks the synergy, and most of what I want to exile is 4cc+. Part of why Thopter Arrest works in the 75 is that it's maximum mana efficiency with Sram's Expertise and it's double duty as artifact hate from the sideboard.

LikeButtah, there isn't room for that, the deck's curve needs to be low and you'll have most of your tokens made on turn 4 or 5, so Procession is taking a turn off for like 3 tokens. Plus no Guttersnipe synergy. If I wanted more 4-drops, which I don't, then I'd start with Primal Amulet, but even that I found I didn't want to cast rather than just winning the game with Heroic Reinforcements.

If I'm looking for more cards for this deck, I'd want them to:
1) Be instants or sorceries
2) Affect the board at 4cc or less, preferably 3cc or less.
Something like Settle the Wreckage would be more synergistic, for example. Dusk/Dawn. Slaughter the Strong. Make a Stand. Destructive Tampering.

Thanks for the suggestion. While the initial idea of the deck was to recur Trial of Ambition, I think there are multiple possible ways to do it and multiple possible Trials that could be viable. In particular, I chose black both because Trial of Ambition is cheap and because Yahenni can be made indestructible. The indestructible Yahenni prevents about half the removal/wipes in this Standard from 2-for-1ing a Cartouche. Ideally I'd go green for hexproof, actually, which might be an idea but UG Pummeler is a far better optimized deck. Abzan might work really well though... I'll have to try it. Going red is a more RW weenie approach. Hard to say if it's usable, I'd want to try both though. Hazoret would be one card I'd definitely add if the deck contained red.
