Does anyone play Guiltfeeder in Mill decks?
Seems like this would be a good combo...

General Magic / Old Borders - Format?
« on: May 24, 2019, 06:50:38 pm »

Through circumstances beyond my control, I got back into playing Magic the Gathering.

But I only have a bunch of old cards, and I'm dirt poor. (...buuut I did buy a few new cards.... :P)

As an old timer I like the old border cards and want to just play with those.
I know there's the format Vintage and Legacy where this is accepted.

Is there a term for an old timer like me?
Or are there others out there that want to go back to the old look and feel?
Is there a format that is specifically for Old Border stuff?

Or, should I just get down with plainswalkers and empty my bank account?

Or, should I just focus on making a wicked old border cube?

Thoughts?

Deck Reviews / [Legacy] Bouncy Castle

Bouncy Castle

[ OLD BORDERS : Alpha-Scourge ]

Built around the idea that the Portcullis and bouncing opponents creatures till you have a direct path. Let's see if I can bounce everything until the Morphling comes out.

Super fun to play. Not as 'mother-may-I' as many other blue decks. Cards like Standstill, Barrin, Master Wizard, Giant Oyster, and Wall of Tears give it a really fun vibe.

Any suggestions on what to take out / include are welcome.

Tap Dancer

Can a Tim deck be good at anything? Let's find out.

Deck Strategy :
Get Tims on the board, boost them, untapped them many times per turn, win.
The Tims do almost everything in this deck.

Deck Synergy :
Control the board and ping opponents with Prodigal Sorcerer, Suq’Ata Firewalker, and Reveka, Wizard Savant. Boost these wizards with Charisma, Curiosity, and Sigil of Sleep.

Untap the wizards (often many times per turn) with Seeker of Skybreak, Seedborn Muse, Puppet Strings, Instill Energy, Pemmin’s Aura, and Intruder Alarm.

Rootwater Matriarch plays nice with all the Auras, and is supported by the Crown of Ages.

Llanowar Elves and Quirion Elves are great for ramp and also fun to untap.

Rounding it out with Meekstone, Statecraft and Sylvan Safekeeper to keep the wizards on the board as long as possible.

Capsize, and Emerald Charm for a little removal. Impluse to get the untapped combo as soon as possible.

Mana Curve :
2.29 average CMC. 22 lands.

Thoughts?

I've played some hilarious games with this deck, but you really have to think about each step.
