Gana - cycle Kamigawa (version honden)

Gana - Challenge deck Urza/Yawgmoth (HELP in construction)

Friends of the day Hello !!

Here I wanted to try a little game, that of creating a magic deck around some cards. I took as context the history of the war dominaria vs phyrexia and especially the part urza vs phyrexia (well it's about the same thing I think?).
In short, the goal is to take cards where urza, yawgmoth, tolarian academy and phyrexians are in the spotlight.

This is a rather difficult exercise and the goal is not to make a deck ultra competitive but rather that runs smoothly and with a game mechanics interesting and fun thanks to the cards chosen.

I preferred the map of the saga of urza but we can put any edition of the moment that it is in the theme urza / phyrexia. I think the game will be blue / black / art but we can change the colors.
Simply the few cards I am based on are black and blue and known for their powers. The mechanics of the game and the majority of the cards are completely free, it's you who decide then make fun :)

I like to mix two colors and one or two game mechanics (which can be complementary or contrast) for more diversity.

Creating a deck with cards related to the urza vs phyrexia war. Main map to try to put (in descending order of importance):

Yawgmoth's Will
Yawgmoth's Bargain
Mind Over Matter
Phyrexian Arena
Phyrexian Altar
Propaganda
Opposition
No Mercy
Barrin, Master Wizard
Rayne, Academy Chancellor
Second Chance
Tolarian Academy
Phyrexian Obliterator
Thran Golem
Karn, Silver Golem
Legacy Weapon

So much for the important cards that I would like to see in the deck (especially the first five cards) the rest is completely up to the choice and reserve and there for those who like me would like to try but have no idea of the type of card to put or even a game plan;)

Have fun and good luck with this little challenge for the construction of a deck revolving around these few cards (the first ones on the list).

Deck Reviews / Gana - Grixis Nicol Bolas version 2 eng

Gana - Grixis Nicol Bolas version 2 eng

Friends of the day Hello !!

A deck in my favorite colors black / red / blue otherwise Grixis!

The goal of the deck is to control the game by doing this discard the opponent as much as possible, by blocking his big tuna creatures and playing blast on his little creature or hit points.
All this by removing some points of life with our creatures until the arrival of nicol bolas or crosis, the purger.

We try here to crush the opponent by creating a huge card advantage not by drawing intensively but by discarding all his cards.

The deck is composed of creatures that I like well while discarding like blazing specter, dimir cutpurse or sedraxis specter

I did not put doomsday specter or other specters because I thought it was losing tempo in addition to a creature when I already had enough cards to defeat the opponent.

Nightscape familiar and obelisk of grixis are here to speed up our game and stabilize our base of mana. In addition Nightscape familiar (card I love in grixis) will be hard to kill and will serve to reduce the cost of all our other fate, early in the game it is, I think, difficult to do better.

The ephemeral and ritual cards I took for their adaptation depending on the game, their power and their side control / blast / discard.
But I admit having a little trouble to decide, there is so much powerful card or fast ... In the end even if it is certainly improvable, I tried to stay in a control optics but by varying the cards and playing what I like (except crosis's charm, one of my favorite ephemera, and I did not put it, I do not believe it !! ... I think I'll change that and put it costs that cost in this deck and not only in the reserve)

The base of mana is, like all tricolors and more, hard enough to implement for the game to run without much difficulty, I put double land but no fetchland, maybe I should have? Besides, if anyone can tell me if a blood crypt is really better than a sulfurous springs? I think so but after that it's pretty much the same cards for me, anyway ...

I put cards that I like a lot at the creature level as well as the ephemeral and the rituals and so this deck may not be as powerful as it could be (well after I'm not there to win a top 8 but to make the deck a little competitive and very fun to play)

This deck could have a bit of trouble against the aggro deck very fast because let's say it's a rather slow deck to put in place but after the 3/4 turn it is countered, destroyed or systematically defeated the opponent. 1-man spell like lightning or something else should fix the fast side of the deck a bit.

In reserve I put some cards for those who have ideas or suggestions. Moreover if you can help me improve the spell (ephemeral / ritual / creature) by telling me why such a spell is better or why this spell there I have to play it x4 and the one x2, while remaining in a discarded optics /control; I thank you;) (because I put maybe too much ephemeral and not enough kill ??). Ditto for creatures, some may be more appropriate than others.

The planewalker of this deck is one of my favorite Nicol Bolas, Planewalker and I could not not put Crosis, the purger, my favorite dragon in a grixis deck (plus its ability really harmonizes with this game)

Deck Reviews / Gana - Izzet eng

Gana - Izzet eng

Friends of the day Hello !!

This time here is a izzet deck:

This game is based on the ability to copy ephemeral and ritual spells and to choose new targets for copied spells. Creatures can either copy or boost when casting an instant or ritual spell.

I particularly like the echo mage for this type of deck because once leveled it will be able to copy a spell twice for just two mana.

I put lots like twinning or reverberation that will copy other fate at low cost like lightning, brainstorm, izzet charm, electrolysis.

The most powerful spell for me charm of izzet and electrolysis because they adapt perfectly to this type of game. But maybe I did not put enough spell (pick, blast, thwart, etc)?
In any case I find that the rituals are mostly quite expensive and they are no more powerful than a lightning copy once or twice (but maybe I'm wrong: /)

Here we have a simple and effective game that I appreciate a lot. I also put niv-mizzet, the firemind rather than his counterpart but it is exchangeable.

The mirari (still a card that I love for its history more than for its power) fits perfectly in this game :)

The fates I chose, I took them for their versatility and strength as well as for their low mana cost.
But if you know other fate more suitable or better do not hesitate to comment on them;)

In reserve I put some red / blue cards like nivix guildmage or izzet guildmage and some "synergies" like blistercoil weird (1 of mana) that we can boost with dynacharge (a 4/2 'vigilance') or kiln fiend + leap of flame (5/2 vol initiative). I also put cards that can give ideas for red / blue izzet deck

Gana - Wizard eng

Friends of the day Hello !!

I tried a witch tribal deck this time.

The goal of the deck is to control the table by countering the creatures and spells of the opponent thanks to the boss of the wizard, the prodigy videmage and many other countersorts. We start managing the table from the beginning with patron wizard and voidmage prodigy.

All wizards have their function and work together to thwart and manage the table (even fugitive wizard, it is there to accentuate the tribal side and allow many mini combo with the nameless one, patron wizard and voidmage prodigy that are the base of the game )
I have struggled to put a lot of kill in this game, apart from the nameless one, there are not many, so it will often counter.

The opposition card serves against the big tuna of the opponent.

Future sight will give us a consequent card advantage and return the course of a game in our favor, shadowmage infiltrator also creates a huge card advantage.

I do not know what ephemeral and ritual to put so I put counterspell, serum visions and we can add doom blade or smother

In the reserve I put some more powerful wizard to give some ideas and here are some combo:

---> callous oppressor + imagecrafter: explodes the decks blue-green, white-green.

---> Stonybrook Schoolmaster + patron wizard + intruder alarm: infinity of token

aphetto grifter and winter orb are excellent and very competitive cards that can boost the control part of the deck easily from the first turns,
Sage of fables boosts our sorcerers, and makes us draw a lot of cards

Maybe I should add some fetchland? at the level of the pickaxe I hesitate between serum visions and brainstorm and then I chose serum vision but it is exchangeable.

This deck is certainly editable and improvable but I think it's a good tribal wizard control;), if you have any suggestions to improve the deck (kill, spell, wizard or others ...) go ahead and tell me that in the comments:)

Sorcerer I like? for the illustration and for the power:
shadowmage infiltrator and azami, lady of scrolls

Gana - Affinity eng

Friends of the day Hello !!

Here is an affinity deck that is, as always with this type of deck, fast and powerful.

The goal here is to put up a maximum of artifact creature that will cost almost nothing thanks to the affinity for the artifacts.

I put ornithopter (which I like a lot), other cards at 0 mana cost as well as artefact field and urza land to accelerate the deck.
Memnarch (another card that I adore) is there to catch the big tunas of the opponent, so do not attack or block with him.

Some combos (not me):

The metal guy is already a combo alone but here are all the same combo (All rotten):

---> Memnarch + Neurok Transmuter: Reduces the cost of taking control of a permanent, it will indeed cost you 2 less thanks to the neurok transmutator who will do half the job of Memnarch by transforming a permanent into arto for only, in addition to that the permanent you have taken control will no longer be an arto at the end of the turn and therefore will become inviolable by the usual ways of breakage-arto. Also note that thanks to the transmutator, Memnarch will be able to become a non-arto blue creature and thus escape art-break for only one blue mana.

---> Memnarch + Darksteel Forge: I'm ashamed ... Turn all your permanents into arto, all your permanents are indestructible.

---> Memnarch + Mycosynth lattice: My god ... Take control of any permanent without having to transform it into arto before (including reduced cost of 3 including a blue)

---> Mycosynth lattice + March of the Machines: All non-creature permanents become creatures. Already, a first effect: the lands will be artifacts at mana cost of 0, will be 0/0 creatures and so will all be put into the graveyard, and this permanently as long as these two cards are in play. This removes from the opponents the most possible solutions to play anything.
Then all the rest of the permanents will be transformed into a creature proportional to their converted mana cost.

In conclusion, the game is almost locked. Players will no longer have access to mana, and will be forced to deal with the permanents they had previously posed. This can offer funny situations in the parties, and sometimes deadly

But add a master of etherium or chief of the foundry and your land will not go to the cemetery when the opponent's land though !! Suffice to say that there you have a lead that will be almost impossible to catch up.

I adapted the (large) reserve to give card ideas to add or modify.

I have a little trouble adapting the pick and the rebolt because as we put a lot of cards in a round thanks to the affinity, we must be able to draw accordingly and we must not neglect the adverse response.

If you have any advice and suggestions to improve it all go there;)

Gana - modularité prolifération version 3 eng

Friends of the day Hello !!

My third deck is a game token modularity proliferation.

I used my golem deck to which I added creatures entravarc

The goal is to put creatures with modularity. Then we boosts them by proliferating + 1 / + 1 markers with cards like contagion engine or contagion clasp.

There is also control and pick in connection with the proliferation (tezzeret's gambit and fuel for the cause)
Everflowing Chalice takes all its power only when we start to proliferate our marker.
Tolarian academy are master cards and ultra powerful if you want to make this game competitive, otherwise you just have to remove them if you want a deck a little less strong.
The planewalker of this deck is Tezzeret the seeker that I like

In reserve I put a preview of the cards that can be integrated into the deck, always in the optical marker + 1 / + 1 / proliferation.

The reserve can give ideas for those who want to help, so use it and do not hesitate for those who have ideas for changes, advice, suggestions;)

Gana -  Fun Jeton Golem version 2 eng

Friends of the day Hello !!

My second game deck token golem proliferation.
As my first is a deck that is fun and without being ultra competitive, with a chance to win and where we can do long enough balanced games.

The goal is to create golem tokens with cards like splicer, precursor golem or titan forge. Then we put markers + 1 / + 1 on the golems and proliferate the markers with cards like contagion engine or contagion clasp. There is also control and pick in connection with proliferation.

Everflowing Chalice takes all its power only when we start to proliferate our marker.
Blossoming defense are used to use the precursor golem's ability to best attack or defend.
The planewalker of this deck (my favorite) is Karn liberated because 1) it's a golem (so much to put it in a golem game) and 2) Karn is released and he will not do in the lace!

I like to put cards in x3 rather than x4 because it makes more varied desck, more fun, even if it's a little less competitive ...

In reserve I put a preview of the cards that can be integrated into the deck, always in the optical marker + 1 / + 1 / proliferation.
There are things to improve (manabase, better map, combo, tempo, ...), personal I find that there is not enough map putting marker + 1 / + 1, in terms of place in the deck is a real problem to deal with it with proliferation.

(Version 2):
I add tolarian academy x4 ... incredibly powerful map and so my game degummies everything if the opponent does not have a super competitive or appropriate game in response, and thus won part or very largely advantage from the beginning, it implies Less play time and less fun: (
I also like Arcbound Wanderer and Etched Monstrosity even though I did not put them in the deck

The reserve can give ideas for those who want to help, so use it and do not hesitate for those who have ideas for changes, advice, suggestions;)

Gana - Draconic Domination fun

Friends of the day Hello !!

Here is a fun dragon deck to play with friends. You should know that I often play with the same person and almost always with the same deck, so I wanted to make a nice deck to play but do not break the friend opposite in 3 round (because after is boring and we do not want to play against this deck anymore). I like long games where games can develop
I took as a base the 2017 Dragon Commander and I changed it to have a better mana base.

This deck aims to put lots of different multicolor dragon:
All the dragons are exchangeable with others (kamigawa, planeshift, planar chaos, nicol bolas, escouflenfer, ...) it is the choice but I favor the dragon cards in a single copy to have a lot of different in game and do various parts.

The birds of paradise, the sylvans and the arches of the dragon are there to stabilize the base of mana and to be able to pose a dragon as soon as possible.
Sarkhan unaltered is the best flatwalker for this deck I find.

My favorite dragons ?? ... Crosis, the Purger and Nicol Bolas

There is a lot of things to improve (control, pick, blast, manabase, ...) so if you have any ideas or advice do not hesitate;)
That's it fun and be cool :)

Yawgmoth's Will
Yawgmoth's Bargain
Mind Over Matter
Phyrexian Arena
Phyrexian Altar
Propaganda
Opposition
No Mercy
Barrin, Master Wizard
Rayne, Academy Chancellor
Second Chance
Tolarian Academy
Phyrexian Obliterator
Thran Golem
Karn, Silver Golem
Legacy Weapon

Gana - Grixis Nicol Bolas
