Instead of boomerang, did you try using blink of an eye? You could also use healer's hawk instead of suntail hawk, especially because of the lifelink that healer's hawk has. Another couple good weenie cards could be sparring construct, ; soulmender, which could go into a sideboard so you could use against decks that deal a bunch of damage quickly, like a red aggro deck; hunted witness is a good card because its a 1/1 for 1 white mana, and it gives you a lifelink soldier when/if it dies.
