Deck Reviews / Theros Beyond Death Limited Constructed
« on: December 15, 2020, 01:50:35 am »
My friend and I split a booster box of Theros. The challenge now is to make a deck with just THB. Here's what I got so far.

//Lands
1 Labyrinth of Skophos
6 Mountain
17 Plains
2 Unknown Shores

//Spells
1 Altar of the Pantheon
1 Banishing Light
1 Bronze Sword
2 Dreadful Apathy
1 Elspeth Conquers Death
1 Fateful End
1 Heliod's Intervention
1 Phalanx Tactics
1 Shatter the Sky
1 Soul-Guide Lantern
1 The Triumph of Anax

//Creatures
1 Archon of Falling Stars
3 Daxos, Blessed by the Sun
2 Daybreak Chimera
2 Haktos the Unscarred
2 Heliod, Sun-Crowned
1 Lagonna-Band Storyteller
2 Leonin of the Lost Pride
2 Nyxborn Courser
2 Phoenix of Ash
2 Reverent Hoplite
1 Skophos Warleader
2 Sunmane Pegasus

//Sideboard
1 Daxos, Blessed by the Sun
1 Final Flare
1 Nyxborn Courser

What do you all think? Is there a common / uncommon that should be in here that I'm missing? My strategy is to get fliers up and then add +1/+1 counters with Heliod

General Magic / Re: How many lands in a 60-card deck?
« on: December 14, 2020, 09:04:27 pm »
I like this idea based off the average CMC and I took a screenshot to use later. In the past I have just had the general rule of 23 lands ... kind of like in draft decks to have 17 lands.

I know it gets more complicated with more mana sources, like mana dorks or mana rocks, and also when you play more than one color.

I wonder how this rule changes with double faced cards, like in Zendikar. It probably would bring the number of lands down because of their versatility.  I read somewhere that modal cards will be part of future sets so it's an important factor to keep in mind for standard.  What do you all think?
