Off-Topic / Re: How Smart Are We?
« on: November 19, 2021, 11:33:05 pm »
Almoust dropped out in high school. Tho, i was presenting my school in math competitions and was a board member of student union at that time. Also found out later that in primary school cognitive test where made and it said that some of my cognitive skills are as high as university level ppl.

After high school and crappy grades went to working life. Felt like a cold shower, went to army. Ranked highest ranking personel. After sometime, passed to polytech and graduated as MSc. Also i have won national wide competitions in different sports.

I dont really feel myself smart, but i know i am.

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: CEDH potential?

Hi, I’ve cEDH template where i watch the common structure for my cEDH decks. I dont play many pver 5 cmc spells at all if they are not game ending ones. Have atleast one infinite combo to generate infinite mana or infinite damage to players which you can perform easily etc. (check this out https://edhrec.com/combos/w). I would add Mass Land Destruction cards like Armageddon and Ravages of War and add more mana artifacts. Also protection for your commander and because you use lots of artifacts Karn, Scion of urza ’s and Urza’s Saga would be good.

General Magic / Re: What sleeves do you use?
« on: September 21, 2021, 11:51:59 am »
I have mainly used Ultra Pros Glossy Eclipse for outer and KMC Perfect Hard for inner sleeves.
I just happened to order Ultra Pros Whites, because i heard the inner side is colored black. There isnt any other note worthy differences between these sleeves and Dragon Shield Mattes what i have notices in use. KMC Perfect Hard i just chose because they make the outer sleeve more ”tighter” so the edges of the outer sleeve are more tensioned, harder and i think it makes sleeves more resilient for edge folding etc. Also KMC’s Hard are more thicker so it makes more room between cards and it makes cards to slide between each other easier and shuffle feeling little nicer. Althought, i would change my outer sleeves if i would find sleeves which wouldnt glare light so much like Dragon Shield or Ultra Pros.

Test of Talents, Invasive Surgery and Lose Focus are my favorite kind of counter spells. It may not be suprise that Surgical Extraction has a sweet spot in my heart.

Reduce your lands between 28-32 cards and add ~10 mana artifact cards like Fellwar Stone, Mind Stone, Gold Myr, Ornithopter of Paradise etc. to make sure you maximize your early mana ramp and also have usefull early game blockers. You have lots of awesome big mana spells, but they are very hard to cast and makes you tap out until your next turn which can turn to be deadly if you turn out to just be ”goldfish” in opponents’ turns.
Playing 33 Shadowborn Apostle s with Thrumming Stone and with your commande is kind of long combo line tho, but its explosive synergy and maybe one of the best tactics which you could play when you learn it and add spicies around it.

Here you can find what cards other players are playing!
And when you switch to expensive it usually equals to top tier decks.

Artifact mana ramp + couple mana creatures looks awesome. I use the same ratio for competitive games.

Some cards which i would play
Teferi's Ageless Insight
Wavebreak Hippocamp
The Magic Mirror
As Foretold (You can use it to cast a spell in every opponent’s turn)

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: Competitive Winota
« on: June 30, 2021, 01:52:21 pm »
Hello,
In my taste would increase the count of mana artifacts closer or above 10, and reduce land count a little so the deck would have faster starting hands. Mind Stone - Fellwar Stone

Are there any obvious Winota cards that I'm missing?
Some cards to concider Rick, Steadfast Leader, Blade Historian, Kataki, War's Wage, Mirran Crusader and in more stax I would play Null Rod, Karn The Great Creator, Heliod's Pilgrim with Splinter Twin (which comboes with > Zealous Conscripts or Combat Celebrant or Midnight Guard or Village Bell-Ringer) and/or Curse of Exhaustion for those combo players.

I've included some Rule of Law effects to stop Thassa's Oracle combos, as well as Sanctum Prelate. Are there any cards I'm missing besides Tocatli Honor Guard (she stops my own combo)?
I have used Gideon of the Trials specially against combo decks sometimes with Arena Rector and those Rule of Law 's effects. Also one of my favorite thing in Winota deck's against every else deck is that Winota is a one of those few commanders which can use Possibility Storm to hard lock opponents with "Each player can't cast more than one spell each turn" effects while Winota wings you to victory trough silence or mayhem. I think Possibility Storm is the best card what Winota could play and to protect the commander and the overall gameplan while you just grap your cards straight from library to battlefield.
Strict Proctor
Torpor Orb

Quote
For people who have played Winota, is she a commander that needs a lot of protection?
Yes, some. When Winota is not in the battlefield the deck's engine doesn't run. When even one removal flies, you are out for a loong time for waiting that mana rock to pay commander tax.

Some cards to consider to competitive gameplay:
Sword of Feast and Famine - against many stax pieces like Winter Orb
Steelshaper's Gift and Open the Armory - to fetch protection or that Splinter Twin/Curse of Exhaustion etc.
Library of Leng/Bag of Holding - against wheel hand wipes etc.
Rip Apart
Fork/Reverberate - to act as counter to counterspells or to grap a extra tutor etc.
Mana Web
Crucible of Worlds
MassLandDestruction - Armageddon/ Ravages of War when Winota plays mostly creatures and usually has the best board state when concidered creatures and their power its not very harmfull to you to wipe all the lands and send opponents to stone age
Reidane, God of the Worthy - Best card against Ad Nauseam / Peer into the Abyss and some 1/x inf tokens etc
Platinum Angel - Never played but wanted to test it

Cheers!
