Deck Reviews / Legacy Thopter-Sword help
« on: August 16, 2013, 12:01:56 am »
Howdy, this is my first forum post. I would like some help on my legacy Thopter-Sword Deck. I want to keep it at $500 or less, but I will remove the dual lands to reduce price. Thanks!

Ahh... I love Tezzeret. Although Sarkhan the Mad was my first planeswalker, I appreciate Tezzeret more.

Tried to add a little ramping for T2 Cascades. I don't like it as much. I willl think of good replacements.

Maybe add a Clockwork Gnomes...... It really helps with artifact creature regeneration. Something Like Darksteel Juggernaut would be pretty effective, too.

Revision 15 - Vivid lands were not working in playtesting. Adding lands that can produce different colors is better. And it only increases deck cost by a little, which is good.

@PatrickH - Okay, so the point is that everything is supposed to have a higher mana cost than Ardent Plea and Violent Outburst EXCEPT for Hypergenesis. Normally one would suspend Hypergenesis, but when I cascade for it, it comes into play immediately. This allows me to drop the huge creatures on turn 3 or 4 without paying their mana costs. Does this make sense?

Revised it........... More Expensive. I like Pillar of the Paruns, but I am thinking of Cutting it and 1 Mirrodin's Core for 1 each of the vivid lands.

Well, I changed it again, kept getting stuck with Caverns in 2nd or 3rd hand. Also, Changed Magister Sphinx count, Increased Sovereign.

Added 2 More lands - I kept getting mana screwed in testing... Seems to be working better. I like that I also cheapened the deck.

Update 10 - Spirit Guides superfluous. I kept lands at 18, but once again tweaked creature numbers.
