Treasures and Dragons - Ziatora forfun

Treasures and Dragons - Ziatora forfun

Hey guys, going back to building forfun decks, since Capenna came out I was very excited to build a deck from Ziatora, the first tests I made a version more focused on treasures >> https://deckstats.net/decks/5754/2534521-dona-do-ouro-e-da-prata/pt.

But with the release of commander legends 2, I wanted to test a new one list focusing on dragons.
Bearing in mind that this is a casual deck, many Stapples were left out.

explanation 2:
many combos are possible in this color combo, I left them out for 2 reasons, most of the cards are in Kaalia of the Vast, and I preferred to choose to use cards that I never used in this new list, so if you have cart tips few used to increase this idea, do not hesitate to send it!!!

finally, if anyone wants a new explanation of the synergy of the cards, ask here and I'll explain better each combo, interaction and strong and fun points of the deck!!

Meren do Clã Nel Toth
Orador principal Vannifar
Yarok, o Profanado
Titânia, Protetora de Argoth

Deck Reviews / Liesa, Shroud of Dusk: a lifegain angel based Stax
« on: April 30, 2021, 05:56:56 pm »
https://deckstats.net/decks/5754/2015070-evangelic-stax

This deck is a Stax Lifegain almoust angel tribal deck  ;D.

The deck consists of the following strategy: start focusing on Stax, to save time to generate the angel tokens. To do this, reduce the amount of spells that players can play per turn to 1.
Ex: Archon of Emeria, Eidolon of Rhetoric, Rule of Law ...

Disable creature ability when entering the field with Hushbringer, Tocatli Honor Guard ...

Force your opponents who want to harm you to spend more mana, making them less resourceful to respond to your spells
Hokori, Dust Drinker, Wandering Archaic, Windborn Muse, Strict Proctor, Authority of the Consuls, Blind Obedience, Ghostly Prison, Smothering Tithe, Sphere of Safety ... or think carefully before targeting you, if you have a Karmic Justice or Rampage of the Valkyries on the field.

Abuse of gravehate: Kunoros, Hound of Athreos, Rest in Peace, preventing the use of the graveyard.

All of this while Commander Liesa, Shroud of Dusk drains opponents' life as they play spells.
____________________________________________________

The deck's second strategy is to abuse the lifegain to create angel tokens.
Things like Bishop of Wings, Disciple of Griselbrand, Divinity of Pride, Felidar Sovereign, Righteous Valkyrie, Serra Ascendant, activate Angelic Accord and Valkyrie Harbinger creating the angel tokens.
In support of them, other cards also generate tokens, being:
Crested Sunmare, Keeper of the Accord, Starnheim Unleashed, Court of Grace, Dawn of Hope, Griffin Aerie.

If Divine Visitation is in the field, the tokens are automatically replaced by angel tokens.

A special focus on the synergy of the Empyrial Storm, which can make a lot of tokens, thanks to Liesa's Shroud of Dusk passive of paying life instead of surplus mana each time you cast it from the command zone.

Other synergies that can make a difference in the match:
Disciple of Griselbrand sacrificing a blocking angel token (which would not kill the blocked creature) at instant speed guarantees you 4 life and a new token in the final phase, if Angelic Accord, Griffin Aerie or Valkyrie Harbinger are on the field;

Witch of the Moors + Pristine Talisman: this artifact makes all the difference if used correctly, in addition to generating mana, it ensures the life gain of the turn, so that you can trigger the effects. and in that case, return a creature from the graveyard to your hand and have your opponents sacrifice a creature.

** Win Conditions **

Smothering Tithe + Revel in Riches: a classic with a treasure token, which can accelerate or correct your mana curve.

Aetherflux Reservoir: if it was not enough for the life gain to generate an angel token, it also serves as a source to kill an opponent.

Angel of Destiny: Another way to win based on lifegain, the angel himself guarantees a kind of lifelink for your creatures, and if his condition is met, you win the game just by attacking a player with the Angel of Destiny (whether blocked or not, and the angel must be alive in the final stage). Another point to note is that the Angel of Destiny recovers all damage done to the opponent, which can be a political factor in attacking an opponent and gaining life without harming him. However, life is only returned in the final stage, if an opponent's life is reduced to 0, he will lose the game before he gains life.

Felidar Sovereign: Basically, the initial life of a multiplayer EDH game is enough to win the game.

Approach of the Second Sun: Last but not least, a one card win condition. In addition to guaranteeing you more playing time with 7 health, it can be played again by returning it to the deck in seventh position.
A great way to use this card to win the next turn would be to use Demonic Consultation, exiling the top 6 cards and putting the Approach of the Second Sun in your hand again.

Ex: Archon of Emeria, Eidolon of Rhetoric, Rule of Law...

Abuse do gravehate: Kunoros, Hound of Athreos, Rest in Peace, impedindo o uso do cemitério.

Tudo isso enquanto a comandante Liesa, Shroud of Dusk drena a vida dos oponentes conforme jogam mágicas.
____________________________________________________

Coisas como Bishop of Wings, Disciple of Griselbrand, Divinity of Pride, Felidar Sovereign, Righteous Valkyrie, Serra Ascendant, ativam Angelic Accord e Valkyrie Harbinger criando as fichas de anjo.
Crested Sunmare, Keeper of the Accord, Starnheim Unleashed, Court of Grace, Dawn of Hope, Griffin Aerie.

Disciple of Griselbrand sacrificando em instant speed uma ficha de anjo bloquadora (que não mataria a criatura bloqueada) lhe garante 4 de vida e uma nova ficha na fase final, caso Angelic Accord, Griffin Aerie ou Valkyrie Harbinger estejam em campo;

**Win Conditions**

Smothering Tithe + Revel in Riches: clássico com de ficha de tesouro, que pode acelerar ou corrigir sua curva de mana, caso o foco não seja combar;

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: Edgar Markov
« on: March 24, 2021, 08:42:35 pm »
Hi.. i'm a great fan of vampires too, and have a Edgar build too, so i can share some information about how that works from me

1 - Creatures i don't like and why:
Viscera Seer - It's not an Aristocrat and a based-creature aggro does not benefit by losing creatures
Cruel Celebrant - the same, and i think have better drop 2)
Marauding Blight-Priest  - i sadly think this creature is very bad, but can works good with Sanctum Seeker
Vampire Cutthroat - I tried this card on the deck a long time, but it does the same as any chip 1/1 vampire token :/
Vona, Butcher of Magan - 7 life is very high, usually I don't have to worry about destroying things, the game is over before that. i really preffer Licia, Sanguine Tribune, but i don't use it in my build too.
Malakir Cullblade  - weak... I'll explain what to replace.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 - Replacements

Rakish Heir in place of Malakir Cullblade: Rakish is better and too fast than Cullblade, in early game if you worry about removing creatures, you will not play creatures and your game will be slow. Rakish improve your vamps at combat damage...
I usually play 1 vamp in turn 1 and make 1 token
in turn 2 I play another vamp and put another token > in turn 3 with him on the field the chance of the 4 vampires gain his marker is very high since someone is still going to be ramping.
or you can put Metallic Mimic (but i don't like)

Knight of the Ebon Legion for me it's the best drop 1 vamp, and Dusk Legion Zealot is a good replacement for Cruel Celebrant: draw is ever welcome and is monoB and easier to play.

Mirror Entity: i hate put other types at tribals, even a changeling (even knowing Changeling is a vampire too, so put the eminence token) but this card is broken: changing the base status of all your creatures at instant speed and without even needing to attack or be affected by summoning sickness to activate the ability is insanely strong in the late game.

i preffer  Vanquisher's Banner than Door of Destinies cause the draw!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 - Other good Synergies
Pillar of Origins - an owesome tribal ramp
Cathars' Crusade + Cauldron of Souls: Your creatures are immortals and gigantic full of 1/1 counters
Blood Tribute + tapping Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose to pay the kicker cost = insta kill
Forerunner of the Legion, a 3x1 card creature > token > tutor

that's all i can feedback... sorry for the big text, i hope it help your gameplay!

As i said, i play Edgar too, so if you want, give a  look at my deck and feedback me too!!!

the last few sets bring so much fun for my decks, to beggining i'll speak of the Khaldheim hability lands, all my decks gain 1 or 2 of these lands, featured for Littjara Mirrorlake and port of karfell

so lets go on

Atraxa

this deck has the theme of infect, if you stretch the concept of few sets, I added creatures with mutation to the deck, to potentialize the creatures with infect and make the deck funnier, but the last addition was to put Fynn, the Fangbearer to help the commander put poison counters.

Edgar Markov

this buddy didn’t have much change, only the nighthawk scavenger and Drana, the Last Bloodchief, as well as other vampires from ixalan.

Lyesa

I had a Stax deck, and with the arrival of Khaldheim I wanted to make him an angel-based/lifegain Stax: weathered runestone, angel of destinyRighteous ValkyrieValkyrie HarbingerSpeaker of the HeavensCourt of GraceFirja's Retribution, were the acquisitions here

it is also worth saying that I built a Tergrid, god of Fright Discard Sac & Steal Group-Slug style

Lastly and most importantly

Kaalia of the Vast

my favorite deck was graced by angels and demons with  Akroma's Will, a powerfull protection/finisher and the demonic tutors Burning-Rune Demon and
 Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire.
