[DOM] [WIP] GB Legendary Counters

This deck uses the synergy of Winding Constrictor and counter producing effects, a swarm of creatures, Mox Amber, and Blackblade Reforged to help power out wins.

Haven't considered my choices much and barely looked at the new set to be honest. I know we should at least be playing that new 1B kill non legendary creature spell. Sultai with The Scarab God seems like an obvious direction to take this.

There's pretty much no case for dorks over cost reduction. Reduction is so much more efficient when u cast multiple spells a turn

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, however there is conditional value in a 3/3 for 2 and the deck might be built a bit greedy.

Eldrazi Temple is legal in Modern where Eye of Ugin is toast. Some people argued that was because of the "consistency" Eye provided. BS! The reason was because cost reduction is so much more efficient.

I put this together as a proof of concept and it feels really strong against other creature decks, so much so that I'm modifying the side board to be better against control.

No Drover of the Mighty?

My reasoning was that cost reduction effects are more powerful, so I chose huntmaster instead. I can definitely see the case for one over the other, or both. Honestly haven't tested a lot yet.

[RIX] Naya Dinosaurs

Focuses on maximizing synergy with the enrage mechanic. 12 ramp spells CMC 2 or less seems pretty good.

As advised, going to give a more aggro build a shot. Kind of went nuts here trying to be low to the ground.

The scarab God can work in this deck if you make it a full on esper deck, and this is why: metallic mimic can boost your other zombies that you create with the scarab god. He's an artifact so having him die to a creature such as defiant salvager on the field will help give you a growing board presence by resurrecting it AS a 4/4 zombie AND by naming zombie you will be giving i other zombies that you bring back from the grave an added +1/+1 counter.
    A possible way that I see you running this deck is using the scarab god to resurrect artifact creatures that you kill off using defiant salvager and the herald of anguish. The fodder in this deck could be creatures such as filigree crawler, scrap trawler, and treasure keeper would aid you in a recycling engine where you can turn your robots....in to ZOMBIE BOTS!!! what do you think?

What do you think about something like this?

// 60 Maindeck
// 3 Artifact
3 Renegade Map

// 17 Creature
1 The Scarab God
3 Herald of Anguish
4 Chief of the Foundry
4 Scrap Trawler
1 Angel of Invention
4 Treasure Keeper

// 7 Enchantment
4 Hidden Stockpile
3 Anointed Procession

// 4 Instant
4 Fatal Push

// 25 Land
4 Concealed Courtyard
4 Evolving Wilds
2 Fetid Pools
2 Forsaken Sanctuary
1 Ifnir Deadlands
1 Shefet Dunes
3 Plains
3 Swamp
1 Island
2 Irrigated Farmland
2 Field of Ruin

// 4 Sorcery
4 Servo Exhibition

Your ideas are creative and awesome. Defiant Salvager is really interesting. It's nice that it's possible to sac as many as needed for one shot. I was considering Plague Belcher for a 3 drop spot, but salvager makes way more sense. Filigree Crawler and Scrap Trawler are also cool and synergistic. I'm going to brew now with these and see what happens. There are almost too many good things.

I'm not so sure Vampires will have the cards to make it. I was optimistic because of the 2 mana lord, but think other tribes might be better.

It might be better to make a more aggressive build with lower CMCs.

[RIX] Preliminary Vampire Tribal

Make a lot of big vampires and win?

I know how to search. What I mean is, I think scarab god is more powerful than any 6 drop in standard.

Here's a modified list without blue.

// 60 Maindeck
// 2 Artifact
2 Renegade Map

// 15 Creature
1 Oketra the True
1 Bontu the Glorified
4 Master Trinketeer
4 Chief of the Foundry
4 Angel of Invention
1 Herald of Anguish

// 10 Enchantment
4 Hidden Stockpile
3 Cast Out
3 Anointed Procession

// 4 Instant
4 Fatal Push

// 25 Land
3 Evolving Wilds
1 Field of Ruin
4 Concealed Courtyard
3 Ifnir Deadlands
3 Shefet Dunes
3 Plains
3 Swamp
4 Forsaken Sanctuary
1 Cradle of the Accursed

// 4 Sorcery
4 Servo Exhibition

// 15 Sideboard
// 1 Creature
SB: 1 Gonti, Lord of Luxury

// 1 Enchantment
SB: 1 Cast Out

// 5 Instant
SB: 2 Vraska's Contempt
SB: 2 Slash of Talons
SB: 1 Forsake the Worldly

// 2 Planeswalker
SB: 2 Gideon, Martial Paragon

// 6 Sorcery
SB: 4 Duress
SB: 1 Fragmentize
SB: 1 Never // Return

Maybe board cards that might work are Legion's Landing, Start // Finish, or another Anointed Procession, but I'm not sure what to cut.

I like The Scarab God because it's a powerful finisher and interaction with Angel of Invention is great. I'm not tied to the card, just went looking for a 6 drop to bust through in the late game and couldn't come up with anything better.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure if Sly Requisitioner would be good because of the "non-token" clause. I do like Herald of Anguish. The increased consistency and utility we gain by removing The Scarab God and shifting to BW might offset the loss of power.

Standard BW Tokens

The deck wants to generate servos and eventually overwhelm with 12 lords, and Anointed Procession. Splashes blue for The Scarab God because it's really good and I couldn't think of a better 6 mana black or white bomb.
