Ahh, I should really consider Lotleth Troll. Much cheaper cost and the Aquastrand Spider could still give it reach. Thanks for the suggestion there! I definitely considered Forgotten Ancient and still have it in mind if something in my current lineup doesn't work, but I feel I'd just be relying on it for the upkeep ability whereas other creatures I chose would be more useful, I guess it'll come down to play testing though

Hi! This is a cool unique deck you got here. +1/+1 counters are a powerful force and having the ability to move them around makes them even better.
This reminds me a bit of the old evole decks, and there may be some cards from that that would be good here. You may have already considered these cards, but in case you haven't:

Thanks for the reply! I had a few of those cards considered at first, particularly Slitherhead, Experiment One and Renegade Krasis but I chose to discard them simply because of the evolve mechanic and not being sure how reliably I could trigger it. The Krasis' ability is really attractive though, I might have to buy all three and just give them a try to see how effective they go.

I had seen Avatar of the Resolute in a lot of similar decks, and it's a great card~ I might buy some just in case but I thought switching it up with the Aquastrand Spider which would give potentially anything including my Hydra's reach, and the Graft is a nice little backup.

I really appreciate the help and suggestions though, thank you! I think I'm slowly getting better at deck building and card synergy but advice from other players like yourself goes a long way

G/B +1/+1 Counters [WIP]

First attempt at a +1/+1 counters and trample for casual play. Bioshift and Momentous Fall to respond to removal with Deadbridge Chant helping return things to the battlefield. Went with just 20 lands on account of the x4 Gyre Sage.

Aquastrand Spider should help alongside Trestle Troll to deal with flying (lots of a flying among people I usually play against) and then Crowned Ceratok to help push everything through.

Any and all criticism & suggestions welcomed as I'm pretty new to Magic and deck building.

Built this deck recently and I love it, it's great fun and SUPER cheap. I swapped 2x Stone Rain for 2x Crumble to Dust (my local store had them for 50c each) which is nice since a lot of folk I play love their non-basics and it's a 4-for-1. I might play around with some different creatures but it's good fun to play as is!

Haha oops, forgot to take that one out. This was originally built as a silly annoying deck to a friends red/blue. Thanks for pointing that out
