Deck Reviews / Re: Questions About Your Magic Mindset?
« on: March 30, 2020, 09:24:12 am »
Hello, Thank you for your advise, there are several things I will definitely be looking into, and I would like to address some things mentioned by your comment.
    -    While you are correct that none of the creatures can attack on their own, you are incorrect to say that there are no combos, as the majority of the cards play off of each other. In this deck there is a fairly obvious infinite combo which involves Axebane Guardian and High Alert. I actually did see Overgrown Battlement but sense I did not plan on using either at the beginning of the game, and as Axebane Guardian has an infinitely better effect I chose it. Now the combo appears when you have 4 other walls in play and you have High Alert on the field; which should be relatively manageable, so you can tap Axebane Guardian for 5; 1 white; 1 blue; and 3 of any color, you can then untapped Axebane Guardian for 4 and keep 1 of any color mana, and when paired with Dawn can meen the end of your opponent.
    -    You are absolutely correct, and I appreciate you being concerned for my budget.
    -    I will defiantly consider some other creatures that can attack and support the walls without the need for High Alert. I will also consider removing Angelic Chorus because of it’s mana cost; sense the majority of the high defense creatures would probably be in play by the time it is on the field; or perhaps I should add something like Vedalken Mastermind to pair with the infinite mana to lead to infinite health. In regards to Brave the Sands I will probably keep it since it helps with Spam and gives everything Vigilance, Tower Defense however will probably be replaced with a more permanent buff; like Slagwurm Armor.
    -    You are partially correct here, however there are currently 10 equivalents; even though High Alert is the only one that allows for attackers, Drift of Phantasms can search for most cards in the deck, so if I don’t draw one I’m probably having some other problems. But I do acknowledge I definitely need some card advantage as well as some more graveyard retrieval, maybe I’ll add Arcades, the Strategist, also counterspells.
I apresiate the reply, and further replies are definitely welcome.

Deck Reviews / Questions About Your Magic Mindset?
« on: March 30, 2020, 06:55:39 am »
Just recently I’ve come to a point in my (casual) magic career where I have started to question everything I can, and one of the biggest things I have started to question is how I should play my decks. Now, I think it is important to mention how I have been playing my current decks:
Typically, when I play with my favorite decks, I tend to be very defensive, and sense I like to play slower decks I tend to try to go unnoticed until I can win the game from seemingly out of nowhere; which usually works sense I tend to play in medium sized groups.
So, I’m not certain if this is how I should be trying to play my decks or if there is a better was to play them, and sense this is a deck review forum I would like to ask you:
    -    How would you play this deck?

Also, if it’s not to much to ask:
    -    How would you improve this deck?

Deck Reviews / Squirrels vs Eldrazi
« on: March 02, 2020, 10:52:39 pm »
So, I currently have a friend who has been playing quite a few Eldrazi’s, and I was thinking it would be really fun to mess with him through playing squirrel tribal. So, my questions for you are:
Do you know of any good reliable squirrel generators?
Do you know of any ways to get rid of the Titans(preferably through squirrels)?
Do you know of any extremely annoying/aggravating squirrels?

General Magic / Shapeshifters
« on: February 17, 2020, 02:48:21 am »
I’m attempting to make a cheap shapeshifter deck, however I have no idea how to play shapeshifters besides creating around 8 copies of Cryptoplasm and later the strongest creature on the field.
So, how do I play shapeshifters?

General Magic / Re: Questions about gains and becomes

Ok, so I’m guessing that these cards are just poorly worded, sense most cards with static abilities have definite end conditions, thanks

General Magic / Questions about gains and becomes
« on: February 15, 2020, 06:47:02 pm »
I have a few questions about cards that use the wording “gains” and “becomes”.
I was searching through some older cards and I found several that don’t say “until end of turn” or effects like that, so my question is when cards like shimmer, breath of dreams, and illusionary terrain leave the battlefield do the effects they gave stick? I mean of course new cards of that type would stay the same, but the old ones would not, right? Wasn’t that why Oko, thief of crowns was so broken

General Magic / What is your absolute least favorite deck/architype
« on: February 09, 2020, 06:42:04 pm »
I’m this topic I ask you to tell me about your absolute least favorite deck/architype, here are a few questions you can answer if you need a quick start.
What made you suffer?
What made you cry?
What squashed your hopes and dreams?
What made you think you could win only to crush your dreams?
What is common enough to have support, but uncommon enough to go unnoticed?
What is way to cheap for how powerful it is?
What made you question what to remove because of how much synergy the cards?

Deck Reviews / [Legacy]Exponential Life Gain (V2)
« on: January 08, 2020, 10:48:50 pm »
https://deckstats.net/decks/86556/1514603-exponential-life-gain-v2-/en
I would like some help building this deck, the main premise is to achieve exponential life gain using Serra Avatar and Wall of Reverence. I would appreciate any help I can get and would prefer any possible changes to the total cost of the deck to stay around the $30 - $35 range.
Current Combos:
Wall of reverence + Serra Avatar => go exponential
Clone + Cryptoplasm + Wall of reverence => gain life off of opponent
Revival + Find => recover destroyed cards/combos
Primal Rage + Song of Freyalise => trample to all
Avacyn's Pilgrim + Beastcaller Savant + Walking Atlas => mana ramp

This is my first deck I have made on this site.
I would appreciate it if you give me advice on improving the deck, building new decks, and advice in general.
Could you also tell me what its weaknesses are and how to build a better deck in the future?
Oh, and one card that would destroy most of this deck would be Merfolk Thaumaturgist
